Re: Smoking Bear
It is, in fact, "Smokey Bear"! And that is fact!!

I live a hop, skip and 2 jumps away from the location where somebody picked up a young bearlet out of an area where a huge forest fire raged and eventually was brought down. And, I believe, that last year was the 50th anniversary of the incident! That young cub became the prototype and was called "Smokey" because he smelled like forest fire smoke.

There is a marker on the highway, a Motel, a restaurant and a museum....and a small park. The bronze marker at the park specifically states "Smokey Bear". Besides, I don't think it would be good form to argue with the forest rangers who man the areas

Krysilis, JennieMc, Days, Nights, 1000
Since Paw has discovered that concealing his identity drives pamsandiego crazy, I am guessing that is he. He makes more money (royalties) on this thread if it reaches 1000.
Krysilis, my last name is E. Pamsandiego, that sweet child from the West Bank concocted that lie to try to save her pathetic little case in court, but Herball saw right through it and whacked her.
JennieMc, what a kind, sweet and long-overdue confession. I will sleep better now. Notice folks, she accepts culpability, and cites motive and intent. Ah, what evil must have been lurking in the heart of Miss Mc, all dressed in black, black, black...
Day shift must have been at the Pink Easter Flamingo house all day. Let's go night shift, it's up to us!
Love you all.....
THE innocent one

Re: poor sam
verses 1 - 3 just to keep us all up to date on poor sam

There are strange things done in the midnight sun
By the men who moil for gold;
The Arctic trails have their secret tales
That would make your blood run cold;
The Northern Lights have seen queer sights,
But the queerest they ever did see
Was that night on the marge of Lake Lebarge
I cremated Sam McGee.

Now Sam McGee was from Tennessee, where the cotton blooms and blows.
Why he left his home in the South to roam
'round the Pole, God only knows.
He was always cold, but the land of gold
seemed to hold him like a spell;
Though he'd often say in his homely way
that he'd "sooner live in hell".

On a Christmas Day we were mushing our way over the Dawson trail.
Talk of your cold! through the parka's fold
it stabbed like a driven nail.
If our eyes we'd close, then the lashes froze
till sometimes we couldn't see;
It wasn't much fun, but the only one to whimper was Sam McGee.

Re: Who started it?
Alright, Miss Jennie, nice try...I'm on to your lying confession!!

You may have started "IT" but you didn't start "THE".

You'll never get away with it, girlie....I know it was endswiTHE who did it....quit trying to shift the blame to yourself to save him!

[It was endswiTHE in the conservatory with the swatter]

Aak!
Robi, if you think you can beat a confession out of me, you are sooooo wrong, girl. It hurts, to be sure, but I can not do it. I would like to take the heat off poor JennieMc, but only Rafael can do that, since he is the REAL culprit. THEre's where THE guilt resides.

hope i don't become redundant, oh yah, and repetitive . . .

after perusing only a few posts on this thread, all that came to mind was who is on first . . . !!

The DA Speaks
At 12:13 a.m., right coast time, it was revealed that Rafael Olmeda, defendant in People vs. Rafe, is in fact... a Trekker. Not only THAT but he knew the difference between a Trekker and a Trekkie.

Therefore, in the best interest of the commonwealth of WayDale, ALL charges against Mr. Olmeda have been dropped and he is a free man (as well as a quality individual).

Further investigations into the nefarious underworld of the THE thread are ongoing but we have no further comment at this time.

Our humblest apologies go out to Mr. Olmeda for the inconvenience which was brought upon him by these charges, and we hope he will live long and prosper.

To the DA....
As I so clearly pointed out in court last night....

....it was clearly a case of mistaken identiTHE.

Resurrection
I was dead, but now I live.
The well was empty. I didn't drown.
And now, thanks to a simple principle, I live again.

That principle?

THE needs of THE many
outweigh
THE needs of THE few.

Or THE one.

Live long and prosper.
