Puh-Paw has sequestered himself in a secret place with all the notes from THE meeting. I don't know what he's up to but he finally seems to be his old self again. The mountain air and the peep extermination seemed to be just the thing he needed.

| Okay... here's the deal
We went to THE mountaintop and made our demands. And I gotta say, THE is actually a pretty nice deity once you get to know him. He even washed my car!
THE was willing to haggle (how's THAT for a class act from a deity?) but he was adamant about keeping THE Two. My biggest complaint about THE Two was that it would not honor and preserve the connection to the 4082 posts in the original THE. It was like they suddenly didn't matter anymore! They were whisked off into oblivion and BOOM, this flashy little sequence popped up in no time.
Well, I came up with the perfect solution. I had to grovel a bit and puh-Paw puh-pounded his fists on the ceiling for awhile (that tall thing really comes in handy) but THE finally agreed. We are going to put 82 placeholder posts in THE Two which represent the 82 posts that came after 4000 in the original THE. So THAT way, every time we look at the number of posts in THE Two, we just add 4000 to it and we have the REAL count of the ENTIRE thread. Pretty slick hunh?
So we'll still have benchmarks and everything! Just make sure that ANY time you refer to the number of posts you add 4000. This is very important and I personally will harass anybody who slips up.
See... we're just not complete without those 4082 archived posts. This thread may be THE Two but THEY are THE too!
Thus sayeth THE Priestess (and since I have been empowered to make the 82 placeholder posts I better get busy).
