If you know that rapes are occurring within TWI, I think that we could all agree that the Police need to be informed. I am not sure if adultery or fornication is illegal or not, but rape most certainly is! If you know that this is going on, then I think that talking about it here and not trying to do something about it there is terribly irresponsible! By all means, get the authorities involved! Seriously, take the knowledge of the particular victim(s?) that you know about, as well as the particular perpetrator(s) name(s) and get the authorities involved. Hell, I just read the book "Deliverance" and the rape scene in the book was so heinous that I wanted to jump into the book and shoot the perps! If you know of rapes going on then by all means, help stop it.

Jonny - I'm not completely sure, but I think that only the victim can get the authorities involved. I believe it would take the victim pressing charges for there to be an actionable claim. In the right (or wrong) psychological climate, this could be nearly impossible to attain.

Back to the subject...

There is a lot of healing that occurs when someone (anyone) acknowledges a wrong. It can happen when someone says "that guy melted my face for no reason..." or "she lied to me."

All it takes is someone saying, "That was wrong," and things begin to fall into place. It's always better if the person who actually committed the wrong admits it, ("I was wrong. Please forgive me") but it also helps when a bystander acknowledges the wrongness of a situation.

IS IT A GRUDGE TO.......

Remember years of abuse by a selfishly ambitious minister?

Remember how it felt to have my wife and child moved out of my house behind my back?

Remember that they then moved her in behind my back again, then tried to move her out behind my back again, just to see if I'd break?

Remember being kicked out of that group in spite of not being guilty of sin worthy of being kicked out?

Remember how it felt to have one of these supposed ministers verbally assault me by repeatedly telling me to f--- my recently deceased grandmother in front of my wife?

Remember years of being put down whether I was right or wrong (I was often correct) because one man desires the preeminence?

Remember that it now appears that many children will learn to be the same kind of liar and spin-doctor as their corrupt teacher?

Remember a lot of the scummy things they did to me and others?

THEN THE APOSTLE JOHN MUST HAVE BEEN SINNING WHEN HE WROTE III John verse 10

I WILL REMEMBER THESE THINGS, AND SHARE THEM WHENEVER I MIGHT BE ABLE TO HELP SOMEONE BY DOING SO!!!!!

3Jo 1:10 Wherefore, if I come, I will remember his deeds which he doeth, prating against us with malicious words: and not content therewith, neither doth he himself receive the brethren, and forbiddeth them that would, and casteth [them]out of the church.

Apples and oranges. It appears he's talking about (then) current events of a living person who (then) was currently disrupting the church with malicious words, and so forth. Current tense.

I think this has NOTHING to do with the perpetual condemnation largely by anonymous sources of past tense decades-old sins of the deceased and displaced.

It is interesting to note that if one compares this verse with twi; ... twi doesn't appear to return the fire of internet defamation with malicious words about their critics, and they don't forbid to receive brethren who may want to attend their fellowships. So I don't think this verse has any application to modern twi.

I think it may do some folks some good to go back to a twi fellowship and check things out, see what's happening. See in person if they're hurting people and engaging in sin. Have a twinkie. There's nothing to fear and I bet the booogie man won't get ya.

Have YOU gone back to a twi fellowship lately oldies?? (that would explain a lot)

Have YOU had access to current twi leaders and hq to know what goes on with the *so spiritual they can handle anything bunch*?

Have you really got any idea what they teach?? What their expectations are of the spiritually committed?? I seriously doubt it.....

If they have changed...in your educated opinion....how long ago??...I am friends with at least ONE person whom has seen the uglier side of twi in the last 5 years.

I haven't gone back in years, but am not opposed to checking them out, singing some songs and having a cookie. And I think it'd be better to check them out in person, rather than surmising through anonymous internet sources that they're currently engaging in evil and sin.

Ok...you haven`t gone back in years...yet you presume to recommend that people go BACK to a spiritually, morally bankrupt group of people and have a freakin twinky???You personally bet that the boogie man won`t get them???

How dare you presume to offer such potentially harmfull advice about a group that has the track record of twi without any personal knowledge of the groups current spiritual healthiness?

The people have never repented, they have never apologized, they still teach the doctrine manufactered by a mad man, a doctrine that allowed evil to run unchecked...and you recomend we go back for a twinky???

That is rediculous and irresponsible.

Not to MENTION the fact if we gave our names they would and not let us in.

You think for one instant they`d let rascal or any grease spotter in?? Yeah...right...you KNOW they`d wet themselves.

Heck, my husband saw a bumper sticker a few years ago and left a note on a twi persons car with his email addy. The believer responded with an email, but when Mark wrote back and gave his name ..... (and he doesn`t even participate here)....the guy severed all contact.

More than conqueres my arse, they quiver in fear at contact from the supposed spiritually unclean.

Oh, my! I am SOOOO blessed to know that I can go back and be welcomed to the hallowed halls of holiness once again! When not one soul has tried to contact me since 1997, and that was by mistake because she didn't know I had been marked and avoided. I should bring my son - do you think the most exceedingly great and mighty men and women of God would STILL want to stone him? Do you think a pansya$$ed jerk would tell my husband he is spiritually weak and spineless because he won't let them? Do you think they would once again tell me I have IDDM because I don't believe LCM is The One Man Of God For This Day And Time And Hour? Or Rosie is always right? Or whatever.

Lemme tell you something, Oldiesman: Sepulchers are full of dead men's bones and they stink with or without the whitewash. If you think for one millimicron of a nanosecond that these people are all so wonderful and welcoming, that they are glad to see someone return to the holy walls of Zion who was marked out and avoided to the extent their death was fervently prayed to God for, then you are dumber than the contents of my septic tank!

"Checking them out........singing some songs and having a cookie."

Uumm........might I suggest that to *truly* check them out and really see for yourself.......you'd have to:

1) Stick around a while........six months?

2) Give 12% of your income, faithfully.

3) Go on some witnessing nights, report back.

4) Take the NEW foundational class.....then, evaluate.

5) Attend HQ a couple of times....sit in those Sunday services while the script is read.

6) Try to meet with one or two of the BOD.......check em out, face to face.

7) Also, go to a Limb meeting.....help with setup, cleanup, recruiting, etc.

8) Six months, minimum.......then come back to GS and report? :)

Just to go to one local twig......and eat a cookie......HARDLY QUALIFIES ONE'S CHECKING THEM OUT

C'mon oldies..............surely you'd DO more than that!? I mean, really.......how could you possible evaluate twi on the basis of such superficial perusal?

:spy:

My understanding is that xways have to go through the Limb coordinator before attending a fellowship--and 'twig' is an old wineskin and not used, it is 'Household fellowship.'

Announcements are 20 min, the teaching is precisely 10 minutes long.

I doubt you'd be invited for a look see--there would probably be an intention on your part to 'do the Word' before your dangerous presence would be allowed in the purified household.

You'be watch like a hawk.

Be prepared to allow access to you finances and sock drawers.

You'be alot better off going to a splinter group if ya gotta.

Let's all take our String Along the Way books and turn to

"Stranded On The Premises".

Straaanded Straaanded----

Come on everybody, sing with me!

Cookies??

No problem. Just reach up in the horn of plenty cookie jar.

HaHaHaHaHa!!

I sure do love ya, Oldies.

Yer the best!

And now let's dig deep into our pockets and take up a "love offering" for that vintage Indian motorcycle I've been lusting after that would "bless" me so much.

Maybe I should just bang my head against the wall.

At least I know it'll feel good to quit.

Don't forget to pay first. They'll give you a "deal". Probably sixty to a hundred bucks or so..

"Your pen, or mine?"

:biglaugh:

Then there's the intermediate.. whatever they call it now.. and the advanced whatever..

don't wanna be a slacker, do you?

Oh.. I hear they still have a corps program for those who wish to be "gawd's crap troops.."

:biglaugh:

sowie..

Not even if it's a porch?

Waysider, sorry man, I am slow. I didn't get that. Did you Excathedra?

For the record Rascal, I would never recommend that anyone go back to that hell hole. I know you weren't talking to me, but I do want you to know that I would never go back, nor would I recommend anyone being part of twi. Maybe out of morbid curiosity, if I happened to be in the area for some unknown reason, I might drive by, and maybe sign in for a look around. But no doubt, like you said, once my name came up, they'd sick the WayGB on me or something. I mean, look what they did to Doug McMullen when he wanted to visit the way woods. Had him arrested.
