His practical error became his doctrine. He was a selfish lush who didn't think of others yet wanted the glory and worship. He got exactly what he wanted, and I belive he received the consequences of his actions. I hope he thought it was worth it.
Just think about the kind of man it takes to have sex with a limp passed out young victim lying there in the back of his coach in a drug induced state because he and his bus driver gave them a drink with a micky. Â
What kind of person is it that would have facillitated that for the old vile 55+ rapist, someone had to help vpee do this and get the drugged victim to the back of the coach.
Those who were clergy or corps who knew about it but allowed it to continue gives a clue about how deeply defiled the whole organization was, and how much twi was a man made religion.
I would expect almost everyone in the first 4 corps knew about it, were there any exceptions?

Now I find myself wondering what ties he had that afforded him access to date rape drugs in the early 1970s when they weren't nearly as prevalent as today. What other connections to the darker side of life did this man have? I don't think he was at all the man we thought him to be.

What kind?..........a predator who cunningly isolates his victim and strikes when vulnerable.
ISOLATION.........at a campus "compound" that has 24 hour security/patrol from outsiders.
ISOLATION.........from family and friends and support.
ISOLATION.........late at night during the cover of darkness, requested by the "man of god"
ISOLATION.........in the secret, ultra-private world of his motorcoach and bodyguard stationed outside.
ISOLATION.........serving drinks, or mickys, to facilitate his lusts and conquest.
ISOLATION.........if she later speaks out, the mog claims that "she got possessed"
Just this morning I was wondering why it is that I still want to see a fellowship that was full of all the good things when it seems plain to me that so many people who were hoping for good things were so brutally deceived by Wierwille.
I remember fighting for good things in my splinter group for a long time until it became clear to me that the leader was corrupt and deceptive.
It may be unrealistic. But I'm still looking for those good things that are true.
Maybe I won't see them until I see the Lord himself. SIGH....

According to Scripture, teaching AND manner of life are to be in synch, in harmony with one another. Obviously, Jesus taught the vast difference between 1) a true shepherd and 2) a hireling, who would forsake the flock at their time of need. The aspect of Living Epistles quickly comes to mind as well.....those who are known and read of all men. Or, a good tree bears forth good fruit.
Of course, some like to simply cling to "teachings" without regard to one's life (fruit)..........but that is FIRST-BASE DECEPTION in my book. No one should be able to "run the bases" when knowledge and transparency are in full view.

I'm appalled that people were drugged and then brought back to the back of the coach for pleasure.....I didn't know about this at all.

the order was, bring them where vpw was going to abuse them
(office, motorcoach, whatever),
THEN drug them,
not the other way around.
He did this to enough people that we've been able to put together a modus operandi for his criminal acts.
