  1. My very favorite is "Mary Did You Know?" written and sung by Mark Lowry. After that it would be "Run Run Rudolph" by I think Chuck Berry. Favorite albums are "Joy" by Avalon, and anything Christmas album by Mannheim Steamroller. Merry Christmas to all! WG
  2. I was a freshman in college ( which tells you what an old fart I am,) in a physics class, which I was flunking with enthusiasm. The guy from the college radio station raced into our class room, which was huge, and yelled out an announcement that three shots had been fired at the president's motorcade in Dallas and he was thought to be mortally wounded. The professor just kind of looked at him and went on writing some meaningless formula no one paid attention to. The guy next to me asked "Did they get Bobby too?" Come to think of it, no one at the time believed the "lone angry nut theory," did they? Did THEY get Bobby too? Even Jackie wore her blood caked suit until the next day, saying "I want THEM to see what THEY have done to Jack." That whole weekend we crowded into the dorm rec room, staring at the TV. It was terribly sad, seemed like a tragic play. We were all very quiet. WG
  3. Good: Met my husband in TWI. 26+ years of great wonderful marriage. Learned about a personal God who loves me. Learned to appreciate/understand somewhat the Bible. Learned ethics and morals and a standard I can follow/believe in. Bad: I am much more leery of anyone who could be considered "leadership" and distrustful of many people. Sometimes I am very confused about issues such as the Trinity. I have little confidence in myself and view myself in a negative light on many occasions. WG
  4. Thanks for your reply. Sorry to hear they have not yet found freedom in Christ and out of TWI. We sat through Hurricane Hugo with them and I love them dearly, and will pray for them! WG
  5. Okay, Okay, I got CRS*syndrome! To make things even more unusual, Tom, my husband was in the WOW branch in WA that witnessed to Patty! (Only I didn't know him then). *Can't remember spelling :P-->
  6. You guys, Was her name maybe spelled Swayze, like Patrick Swayze? I think I know who you mean, I think we were out WOW together, weren't we, Tom Strange?
  7. For the ladies: (favorites all time would see again in a heartbeat) Driving Miss Daisy Steel Magnolias Both tearjerker, honey-dripping chick-flicks.
  8. Happy Birthday a couple days late, but with all my heart nonetheless! WG
  9. I mix white vinegar and water 50-50 in a spray bottle and spray it AFTER I've cleaned up. Neutralizes the odor. My 12 y/o cocker spaniel is the same way. He never did like getting wet, even as a puppy and will walk on the sidewalk to avoid wet grass. We have a carpet brush and Pine-Sol or Lysol, a bucket of warm water, dry towels, a white towel and a heavy book or piece of furniture such as a stool or something. Put a little cleaner on the stain, scrub the daylights, keep scrubbing, blot with dry towels or rags. Rinse with water. Blot with rags. Put the white towel over the where the stain was, weight it down and leave it overnight. We are in the process of selling our house so this is a big deal and we bought a nice sized crate and put him in it when we're gone. I hated it at first, but he seems to enjoy it and just goes and lies down in it when I'm ready to leave for work. I also take him for a stroll down the street every morning before I leave. Boy dogs seem to like to mark their territory! Hope some of this helps. WG
  10. John Gilbert and I were in Fellow Laborers together. I wish him well.
  11. Knew the guy too, good person. Haven't seen him for a long, long time, tho, so can't help. Didn't he do auto body repair? WG
  12. Thank you all so very much!. Been spending time with family or would have replied sooner. WG (older but probably no wiser)
  13. Thanks. A warped sense of humor is one of my greatest attributes! ;)-->
  14. Happy Birthday, Watered Garden! You've weathered the storms of life thus far, pretty good. WG
  15. Would you happen to know if Elizabeth Brown Martin of Charleston, SC, Sadie's sister, is still "in?" We were very close at one time. Our sons are the same age. I can't imagine Elizabeth (Liz) being able to M&A Sadie. They were like twins, almost, only one year apart. WG, longing to hear from Elizabeth
  16. Last I knew, and it's been a while, Jeanice Brown was on staff at HQ, Bill and Sadie had re-entered the FWC, and according to an inquiry on the old GSC, left and were in Columbia, SC. Unfortunately, best I know, all of these fine folks are still "in."
  17. Happy birthday on 2/19/03 to my grandson. As I wish to remain anonymous, so shall he, but he weighs in at a whopping 9 lb 2 oz! Mamma Sprout is doing well, and as for Daddy - well, he's on cloud 9. "A baby is God's opinion that the world should go on." Carl Sandberg
  18. Susan Bouldin, 4th WC, formerly married to Dean Tallarida. Was my WOW sister in 1974-75. Any one heard of/know about her? WG
  19. Never in, but interested in info regarding my WOW sister, Susan Bouldin. Anyone know anything? WG
  20. I just wanted to thank you all, each and every one, but especially Exxie and Dot for the love and understanding you gave me. I did not think about this incident for years, and to see it in the light of day, so to speak, is pretty awful. I wish so much I could make it all go away for everyone, but I'll just have to pray that God, Who is truly good, will indeed wash away all the tears in His own time. Love, WG
  21. Looking back....and then at the present, I can't imagine any normal minister who would want to counsel someone wearing pajama bottoms in a motel room at close to midnight....I was so amazingly naive and dumb and ignorant. What a close call! Exxie, I will write you sometime on your e-mail, honey, but right now, I'm just too tired (not a night person at all, here). I must be getting, well not old, exactly, but uh - mature? Love you guys, one and all. WG
  22. What was this Rev's Scripture reference for they will know us by our works? Lessee...The dog ate my Bible. I'm developing symptoms of ___________ (fill in the blank with some loathsome disease. God gave me revelation to stay home tonight (let's see how they argue with that one). I'm getting my chest hair dyed and permed (if you're a guy with a hairy chest). I have to floss my cocker spaniel's teeth. I have to stay home and sew buttons on a bear's behind. Wanna come help? Okay enough of this silliness. I just thought of another reason I'm so glad to be free of this mob of perverted weirdos. I hated witnessing nights. So forced, so calculating. No love(which we indeed will be known by, IMOO. Gack! WG Um...
  23. For those of you who like Shakespeare, here's one more appropriate for the subject matter: "An evil soul producing holy witness, is like a goodly apple rotten at the heart." Shakespeare WG
  24. OCD #1, could you please reference me on my "die if you say Jesus" junk? I don't remember that. Thank you. WG
  25. I deleted this message because people on other websites are copying quotes from GSC and using them in their anti-cult sites. WG [This message was edited by Watered Garden on January 10, 2004 at 14:04.]
