Music of the Movies (Game)

New game, should be easy, but not as long-lasting as some of the other games on this board.

The idea here is simple: Name a song that is either originally from a movie OR is so closely associated with that movie that it might as well be. We guess the movie.

In the event we have a song title that belongs to more than one song, the person who posts the clue should clarify. If he does not, the person who answers can clarify. For example (these are not from any movie I know of, but let's pretend they are):

Someone Like You

Songs by that name were recorded by Linda Eder (for "Jekyll and Hyde") and by Adele (for "The Grammy Juggernaut").

If, when I post the clue, I say "Someone Like You, by Linda Eder," the answer MUST be Jekyll and Hyde.

If, when I post the clue, I just say "Someone Like You," then you can answer either "Jekyll and Hyde (Linda Eder version)" or "The Grammy Juggernaut (Adele version)."

If the same song is used for more than one movie, the answer should be the one it's MOST closely associated with. Any third party (neither asker nor responder) can judge.

Finally, if the name of the movie is the name of the song, the poster is permitted to use an EASILY identifiable lyric. Let's not turn this into name that tune. When in doubt, pick another song.

If you need confirmation, your answer should be followed by a question mark. Otherwise, assume you're right and post the next clue.

Ready?

Here it is! The First Clue!

Staying Alive is a good example of a song that appeared in multiple movies but is best associated with one.

I think we'll all agree that Saturday Night Fever is the best answer.

There was, of course, a sequel: Staying Alive. And the song was in it.

And it was played as part of the bar scene in Airplane!

I didn't want to use specific examples in the rules post because it would ruin the opportunity to use those songs.

Anyway, whatever, back to our program: Run Through the Jungle

Anyone? Anyone? Anyone?

You were correct, of course. Technically, "Flashdance" is also the name of the song, and "What A Feeling" was the subtitle (and most memorable/obvious lyric).

Dude Looks Like a Lady...

Not sure how many movies it's in, but I remember it best from Mrs. Doubtfire

If You Leave

Is that the song at the end of "The Breakfast Club"?

I know which song it is, but I'm wondering what movie I've heard it in.

Lyrics:

If you leave, don’t leave now

Please don’t take my heart away

Promise me, just one more night

Then we’ll go our separate ways

We’ve always had time on our sides

Now it’s fading fast

Every second, every moment

We’ve got to, We’ve got to make it last

I touched you once, I touched you twice

I won’t let go at any price

I need you now like I needed you then

You always said we'd still be friends someday

If you leave I won't cry

I won't waste one single day

But if you leave don't look back

I'll be running the other way

Seven years went under the bridge

Like time was standing still

Heaven knows what happens now

You’ve got to, You’ve got to say you will

I touched you once, I touched you twice

I won't let go at any price

I need you now like I needed you then

You always said we'd meet again

I touched you once, I touched you twice

I won’t let go at any price

I need you now like I needed you then

You always said we’d still be friends

I touched you once, I touched you twice

I won’t let go at any price

I need you now like I needed you then

You always said we'd meet again someday

ohwoah ohwoah ohwoah ohwoah ohwoah

If you leave (ohwoah)

If you leave (ohwoah)

If you leave (ohwoah)

Don’t look back

Don’t look back
