Current Way Corps Numbers

I saw on LinkedIn the other night that the current director of the Way Corps is Chandler Greene, son of Bill and Marcia Greene. He has a PharmD degree, enabling him to be a pharmacist, yet his current post is Way Corps Director. Just how many people are IN the Way Corps these days? How many were in the last graduating class?

When there were more people than now,

graduating classes were five people.

If there's more than a dozen across 4 years,

I'd be shocked and suspect those numbers were cooked.

They did that sort of thing when still releasing numbers-

they stated "20% will do this" which meant 1 person.

They also took the group photos loaded with staff,

so there were more staff than graduates for the

graduating class photo.

Now,

there may not even BE 5 across the entire program.

With regards to your first question, those IN the way corps these days.....it certainly comes with several qualifiers nowadays. I mean, are staffers EVER going to leave hq and DO the corps training....ie "go forth to serve in areas of concern, interest and need?" If not.....then should staffers, like donna, rosalie, linder, etc. be counted at way corps?

If that's the case, what is there.......

170 corps staff at hq?

80 field corps staff?

170 field corps not on payroll?

= 420 corps who are still IN twi.

That would be my guess-timate.

Thanks for the number estimates. I had really just meant in-residence Corps because I had forgotten that the Corps Coordinator would be in charge of all the Corps still left, not just the ones in-residence. Pitiful numbers. Good thing people are getting smarter!

People are getting smarter and the times have changed!

It is FAR to easy to look up twi online and see all the criticism.

Even if twi did a FANTASTIC presentation, eventually they either

have to say their name, or have everyone suspicious because they

refused to say their name. Looking them up online quickly shows

all the warnings, and hundreds of pages of discussion, analysis

and direct testimony of eyewitnesses RIGHT HERE.

So, we still starve their fire of fuel by informing the strangers

and the clueless.

"In vain is the net spread in sight of any bird."

There's also no zeitgeist like the hippies for twi to hijack.

vpw lied and deceived his way into their trust, and used them

to sell twi on both coasts. There's no equivalent group

available now.

There's no dynamic speaker to even SELL twi to the stranger.

Rosa-lie is dry and boring, and any dynamic speaker would be

a threat to her-even if they HAD one.

There's no "special knowledge" anymore. It's far too easy to

find local churches that teach the Bible, it's far too easy

to find "special knowledge" websites for free.

So, twi has NOTHING to offer new people. So, its current

recruitment is to recruit the kids of innies. This becomes

especially ironic after decades of discouraging innies to

HAVE children. So, there's a few spoiled kids of the

inner cadre, and a few kids of the rank-and-file.

That's not enough to replace the people who leave due to

finally getting fed up and leave due to dying. So, the

numbers keep dwindling every year, even if it's in the

single digits. And the younger ones think they can

turn it all around.

Why can't the younger ones turn it all around?

A) No special knowledge not already out there.

B) No zeitgeist to plug into.

C) Everyone's been warned about twi.

So, everything they have to offer is old, tired, and

worn-out, and usually only re-served to those who've

sat through it thousands of times by now.

And if they COULD energize people somehow?

Rosa-lie would guillotine the whole thing because

anyone with a lick of talent is a threat to her,

even Donna. Any dynamic leader could "steal" her

entire base away from here before she saw it coming.

So, she clamps down on talent.

So, twi dwindles every year, and the members get older,

and a handful of members become teenagers and adults.

That's a tiny handful, from whom SOME may join the Corps,

which explains why any active Corps program would be

in the single digits.

The Way Corps still exists, it simply put on a disguise, changed its name and moved to Mississippi.

HERE

Oh, yes, them.

Their Corps is also teeny, but a lot of what made the original has been cloned

mindlessly, which means the same problems have just been transplanted over.

So, you can choose WHICH organization you can pay to have you perform manual

labour, teach some Bible while claiming it's special, elite knowledge

(serving pride and arrogance alongside Bible for no additional charge),

and still be dismissed without prior notice, explanation or recourse

completely at the whims of the powers that be.

I'm not exaggerating about how they're rehashing the things we've already

examined and found wanting. In their commercial, the only words they found

worth memorializing was a rehash of something that wasn't noteworthy and

can be found in the old pfal class. That they can think that, of all the

things they could say, is THE noteworthy thing, says a LOT about their program

and the people running it. They're running on nostalgia and retreading

without reflection, examination or overhauling- complete with shoving someone

cursed with the name "vpw" in front of the thing. It's hopelessly derivative

and horribly dated.

Isn't the "original" vpw's grandson involved with the outfit in Mississippi?

He's the head honcho.

He's the face of the program. I question whether he's really in charge in any practical

sense. At least from what I saw before, it looked like others made all the decisions

about the thing, then handed over a desk and chair to this guy and told him he was

in charge and inflated his ego. He gets to take all the risks and they get not only

a young face for a group of old relics, but he gets to think he's really in charge

and they get the name that matters more to them than any substance would.

And if you go directly to TWI's actual website, it is BORING. Way Productions is BORING, women in baggy navy blue dresses singing tuneless songs with boring lyrics..... that's all that's left of the music.

They order the boring dresses out of mother-of-the-bride catalogs. I know. I saw them when I worked wardrobe. They were the same catalogs mailed to me because I had been planning my own wedding.

I asked why the dresses were so unattractive and was told that it was so the ladies didn't "distract" from the word.

A) They ran off the previous talent.

B) They can't attract new talent.

C) If they used real talent in the songs and visuals,

rfr would feel threatened by their existence, so they'd

have to be stomped on. ("Tall Poppy Syndrome.")

A) Better quality would cost money.

B) rfr is serious about preventing "Tall Poppies."

Distract from the Word? The ugliness of the dresses distracts from the Word! Besides the lyrics are BORING. It's more interesting to think about how ugly the dresses are.

This makes me think of a few things. Last Saturday I watched SNL, which was a rerun since it's summer, and the musical guest was Charli XCX, a girl group. The lead singer looked very sexy. If she had been singing 'I've been born again' or 'It's gotta be God' nobody would've remembered that. Even Sarah Palin wrestled with this. If you want to communicate a serious message, political, religious, or whatever, I guess you can't look too sexy. Javajane, it sounds like somebody should've put much more thought into the wardrobe. Perhaps the outfits could've been more attractive without being too distracting. Claudettee, Stevie Kay, and Vicki Allen always looked pretty, yet discreet.

.....and yet, it was commonplace in The Way's halcyon days for women (and sometimes men) to use physical attraction to lure new recruits into the fold, some even offering sexual favors in exchange for a Green Card commitment. Once the new recruit was hooked, the Way-promoting believer would move on to another prospective recruit. It was the Way's version of bait and switch, sometimes referred to as date and switch. I guess it's only considered a "distraction" if it leads people AWAY, rather than TO the organization.

Not once in the 18 years I was in twi did I ever hear any leader promote this "whoring for Jesus" strategy. And of course, NOBODY other than twi believes that sex sells, right?

Not everybody heard everything that was promoted within TWI, johniam. Only those who were "spiritually mature" enough to handle it. And they obviously didn't call it "whoring for Jesus". My wife (we got married after we had both left TWI) has told me (and psychological counselors) some hair raising stories about her sexual experiences in TWI! And the fact that other people have done it is no excuse for Wierwille and his cronies, who existed clear down to the twig level in far too many cases.

Love,

Steve
