Sun is shining in the sky there ain't a cloud in sight it's stopped raining,

everybody's in the play

And don't you know it's a beautiful new day, Hey, Hey
Running down the avenue, see how the sun shines brightly,
In the city, on the streets where once was pity,

"Just put me in a wheelchair get me to the show.
Hurry hurry hurry before I go loco.
I can't control my fingers I can't control my toes.
Oh no no no no no."

Hurry hurry hurry before I go insane.
I can't control my fingers I can't control my brain.
Oh no no no no no."

Twenty, twenty, twenty four hours ago......... my internet radio station just played "I Want To Be Sedated".  Until now I couldn't remember the chorus.  I still listen to some alternate stuff here and there, but I must admit I'm more of a mainstream music enthusiast.  Give me Cake, Weezer, Gorillaz, Talking Heads.  Ramones too.

That happens sometimes, but now you have the answer.    Ah, "alternative" actually applies more to Cake, Weezer, and Talking Heads. Ramones is "punk" (as is "Offspring.")  I have no idea HOW to categorize Gorillaz, I just listen to it when it plays.

Yes Gorillaz are in a category of their own.  Eventually radio stations get around to playin' "alternative" because it's better than any of the stuff out there now, unless it's certifiable classic.

I woke up this mornin', Baby
I had you on my mind
I felt so much love this mornin'
Little girl, little girl, you feel so fine
You know I need you
You know that I love you

I may well know this song, but no memory is sparking.  I'm reminded of a song by Frampton or Will To Power, but it's not that one.

I'm sorry. I didn't see your post WW.  It was getting pretty far down in the feed.  My Pledge of Love  ~The Joe Jeffrey Band~

I misquoted the band.  It's The Joe Jeffrey Group not band.  Another one.

But with the over-population, and inflation and starvation

And the crazy politicians

I don't feel safe in this world no more

I don't want to die in a nuclear war

I want to sail away to a distant shore

Those last 2 lines sound familiar, but that's all I have so far. The previous song, I'd never heard of it, let alone heard it.

Well, you would have had to be around in the 50's and 60's which obviously you were not.  But I'm sure you were around when the other song was playing.

I think I'm sophisticated 'cause I'm living my life
Like a good homo sapiens
But all around me everybody's multiplying
And they're walking round like flies man
So I'm no better than the animals sitting
In the cages in the zoo, man

I think I'm so educated and I'm so civilized
'Cause I'm a strict vegetarian
But with the over-population and inflation and starvation
And the crazy politicians
I don't feel safe in this world no more
I don't want to die in a nuclear war

I want to sail away to a distant shore
