Lyrics"

Chestnuts Roasting On An Open Fire:

Chestnuts roasting on an open fire,

Jack Frost nipping on your nose,

Yuletide carols being sung by a choir,

And folks dressed up like Eskimos.

Everybody knows a turkey and some mistletoe,

Help to make the season bright.

Tiny tots with their eyes all aglow,

Will find it hard to sleep tonight.

They know that Santa's on his way;

He's loaded lots of toys and goodies on his sleigh.

And every mother's child is going to spy,

To see if reindeer really know how to fly.

And so I'm offering this simple phrase,

To kids from one to ninety-two,

Although its been said many times, many ways,

A very Merry Christmas to you

(Obiously written before the present truth of Ho-Ho- Holidaze!!)

Hey Batman, when you roasted them at your grandmother's, were they done in an oven, what temperature, how long, if you remember, can you please share the details?

For those of you just tuning in, my avatar was Batman until I found the Green Lantern pic I like.

Anyway, drawing on a memory from forty years ago, Grandma and I would actually roast the chestnuts over a fire in the fireplace in a kind of wire basket. I don't recall any particular amount of time, but th chestnuts were hot and tender when done. It was probably trial-and-error.

Cowgirl: Set your oven to about 300 - 325 degrees, and put the nuts on a cookie sheet. You'll hear them pop when they're done.
