    Momma has to Brag

Hey Abi, How wonderful to see that cutie face. My Nick is in a Charter School here in the Detroit area and it is for the Arts http://artsacademy-woods.org/info.htm it is great. Everything we do is a fundraiser but that is ok because at least we all know where the money is coming from and where it is going. Nick hated school until he got here. Abi knows Nick's story too well. Thanks for sharing that Abi. I just came over here to post the picture. That we fun seeing your little guy while I was here. PS Hey, if anyone knows anyone from the 11th or F7 corps and wants to see a group picture head over to either of their Corps groups. I found it in my VERY SPECIAL STUFF and scanned and posted it.

    11th and F7 picture

Is there a way to post a picture? Oh looky Cooky I think it is doing the magic...I love this and everyone that comes along will love it too I almost went blind looking at it. The longer I looked at it the more I realized my memeory wasn't as good as I thought. I would amaze myself though that some of these names would just pop in my mind though. Looking at is gave me a big ole smile. What a great group of people we had to live with. After staring at that picture I have come up with more people I didn't see then are there. Naylors, Joe Pasquel, Fay Famularo and Dillard Taylor, Ron the farmer from MN, Dot where are you? Mike Frithiof. Brenda Valentine. Well, have fun. I love ya all and miss you so much. Patty

So sorry for the disappearance act I pulled. Running like a wild lady. I had a cool thing happen the other day. I sell Tupperware and the other day I got a guest list from a host and on it was a name of a "believer"...Camilla Hall. Not a common name but I was too afraid to get too excited about it until I actually knew if it was really her or not and then I forgot...The host was white and camilla is black so that was another reason I thought it probably was a long shot. I had been thinking about Camilla sooooooooo much through the years too and didn't know what had happen to her and her husband and blah blah blah. One of my biggest fears in calling people is getting that in your face rejection because they are still in and don't want to defile themselves with the likes of ME. It ended up being Camilla and it was a wonderful reunion. What a blessing. It is funny too because neither one of us has called each other since BUT it is such a blessing to know I can if I want. I love that. That is what is going on on my side of Michigan. Hey, I got a great deal on Air fare to Seattle flying on Independence Air. They fly out of DC so I fly from here to DC and then fly coast to coast. $99 going and $124 coming home. Suzy what do you know about them? I was so thankful to find something under $300. Anyway I am going June 22-July 12. I am so excited. Renting a car in Seattle unless someone has an extra Mini van I can rack up HUGE miles on...lol. Suzy if you or George know of any good deals for renting cars I would appreciate that. I need to do that pretty soon. I also still have to get my husbands flight into Spokane on the 23 of June and flying home on the 9 of July. Hmmm. plotting, planning, and schemeing always...somethings never change. Hope all is well with everyone. Patty

The Naylor's and I moved to Columbus OH in 86 and they only stayed there awhile before they moved down to the pan handle of Florida. I think he did some realty there but I know forwure that he wrote for the newspaper about the fishing in the area. My husband was so jealous of his job. "Gee, hun, I need to go do research for my column be back later." and then go an drown some worms. "WHAT A LIFE." Jill Ann Craney/Nebas is in White Lake which is about an hour from me. Pat Lebomski is in Ann Arbor. I just got a little message from Darrel Hampton yesterday AM he is out in Utah...skiing. I am not sure where Lou Gigou is but his brother is up near Flint with Sara Wierwille Gigou (spelling?). Not sure about anyone else. I wouldn't be surprised if Lynn Balough was around here somewhere because this is where she was from. Her parents lived in Dearborn. Well, I just tried directory asst. and they don't have any Balough's...I am spelling it right aren't I? Denny Rocca is from Flat Rock or something south of the Detroit area. I don't know if he has ever moved back here. He was in Columbus when I was there. There is another guy from the Royal Oak area...oh man what is his name. REAL tall. It will come to me. MANY 11th Corps were from this area. Ya, I remember the "Fun" runs. I use to run with Mitch Thompson and he had the BOOK of Ephesians memorized and he would quote me it while we ran. It worked well. He was a faster runner and he would push me to run faster which made it so I COULDN'T talk and he would practice Ephesians with me. The farthest we ran together was 11 miles. Still a very proud moment for me to accomplish that. I still am in awe that I made it that far. I learned a lot about myself that day. Here is a quote for you "Most people never run far enough on their first wind to find out if they've got a second. Give your dreams all you've got and you'll be amazed at the energy that comes out of you." William James. I had 3 or 4 winds that day to get through that race. I was amazing. I stretched and stretched after and didn't even get stiff. It was NOT fun but quite amazing. Good ole Phils...tipsy time. Yippee. Well gotta go. more soon.

Yes part of my exciting life includes Bowling. I bowl every Wednesday AM. 147/153/159. Wow, what a hot dog huh? Yeah right. Anyway I am home now. Now to work on my Tupperware. I am just the all american at-home-mom who is looking for any outlet to talk someone around my age. Oh man that cracks me up that you made up some of your stories. Damn that is good. That could go into my book "How to go through the WC without Holy Spirit" Gary Padget and were co-authors of this BIG seller to all Apprentice Corps. Larry Ramburg...he was a funny guy. Wow a cop in Illinois...that is great. I never knew you were such a reprobate...I love that. OK on to Suz. Let me know when in July and I will hunt you down. I am trying to make my way to Washington State by car with my 3 kids June 15-July 15. My husband is going to fly out to Spokane June 30-July 9th. got any good rate ideas for us? What part of Washington do you live in? We will be in Spokane for awhile and in Coulee Dam on the Columbia river (I went through Grade School in that little town...I love it) and I am going to see my sister in Everett. Then plug my way back home. Hey, the reason we never told you a good place to make out at is because there weren't any. Every square inch of the campus was taken up with people especially our first year. You definately needed to be inventive there. The 11th WC was a very inventive group. lol. OH ya the Naylors. Yes I also heard that they got a divorce. I am sure they still live in the pan handle of Florida. Bruce was from Indiana but Carole was from Florida. Their daughter must be 18 years old now. WOW. How time flys. It is hard to believe they got a divorce. I always wondered what happen. Well, I guess I better get back to my life. PS

Yes I am in the Detroit area. I was sent here with the naylors after we graduated. I was here 3 years and met my husband to be. Then he went wow and I went to Columbus OH for a year also with the Naylors (they didn't stay the whole year though) then I got married in the Detroit area and then we moved to Utah for 7 years and then tried to go inresidence and that is when my life in the Way turned into a Nightmare. We were released after 3 months and we came back up here and Allen Licht seemed to hate me from the day I touched foot here. I have no idea why. I tried to jump through every hoop for him too and it never was good enough. He M&Aed me more times for the most off the wall stuff. Finally broken hearted, defeated, frustrated I quit trying to come back and then the law suits started coming in on Craig from January and I was DONE. It all seemed to make sense...FINALLY. I know pretty slow on my part. I applaud you for leaving so eary on. The Pughs are great people BUT they are yes men. They had to do a lot of dirty work for their leadership that you could tell they were totally uncomfortable doing. I hated to see them being used. My brothers WOW sister Elizabeth Smith lives there in Grand Rapids with her husband Randy and their 3 daughters. (She graduated from the 15th wc I think) Yes I remember Lisa Wolfe. We sat next to each other, we got eachothers mail and I was called Lisa more then Patty. She was always a good friend of mine. It helped having the same last name...a bonding no matter what. We stayed in contact with each other after she left for quite a while. I forgot though that she was from MI. I think I would have guessed WI. You know Jill Ann Craney-Nebas is in the area too right? She is over here by me. I wonder if Lynn Balough is around. I will continue when I get home. Bye for now

Let the reminiscing BEGIN. I am equipted with my coffee, girls scout cookies chasing it all with potato chips and a pepsi...(gee could that be the reason for the second chin? Oh hell, who is counting???) I am ready for the long haul. Frank you are here in MI with me right? Pat and Joann Pugh are somewhere over there near you. They use to be in Grand Rapids. I think they are still in. Chris Gremlick and Angie were here in the Detroit area but I don't know where they are now or if they are in or out. Alright Out There...it is up to you get this crazy party going. We can play "can you top this story?" If Howard Walker joined in he would win with his Lead 104 story. In true Dave Bedard style we have to start the story...There I was... I never did real well in that Christian Communications class because I was bloody intimadated because I was so young I didn't have these amazing stories that everyone else had. I remember someone telling this horrible story about their X husband and her having this horrible fight and it had Speghetti flying and someone getting hit and I think she was crying by the end. Geez, I was barely 21, I think the worse thing I could come up with was I THOUGHT I was locked in a bathroom when I was 8. TRAMATIC HUH? Ya, intimidated is what I was. Anyway...get this party going Out there. I will be waiting for your Out there story or reminiscing. Patty

Give George my love. I had to laugh today when I realized you moved from the end of Alphabet WAY to the front with AAR, you are even before Aardvark. Yes I remember Sheila...she was first twig coordinator inresidence. It seems like whe was Alabama too after she graduated. How did you know Sheila? Oh man the Diasparra's are driving me crazy along with the Phillips...I know if I saw them I would remember them. I remember the Estey's and Linda Tokash, Laura Rellinger, Sam Coburn (good looking man) Isn't Kris Weeks 11th WC? I have been straining the brain on Slim's wifes name. I keep comin up with Robin but not sure if I am right or even close to being right. Well, I guess hogging is ok when we are the only two. I was hoping Howard would stop in or Frank hang around a bit longer. I have 3 kids Nick 16, Max 12 and sweet Molly 7. I was thinking I would spread them out so I could thoroughly enjoy each of them...I am thinking now there isn't much to enjoy...LOL...I am joking. well until we write again.

Hey Suz, Wow that was your place. I can't remember who I went their with. Were you friends with the Bocks? Cliff and Phylis? Maybe I went with Phylis. She was like a big sister to me. I always stayed at their place during Corps Week. I sure would like to knwo how they are doing. Now are you and George still married? Do you ever remember meeting Barry Coffman? If so do you know what ever happen to him? A good George story. My wow family was all girls and none over 21. George came by and got us all and took us to the grocery store and filled the back of his truck with Groceries (his treat). It was wonderful. We were damsels in distress and his household was more then glad to help us any way they could. John McCave our Limb Coord. brought that to a screech halt. Now that I think about it I think he told the WOW's and regular believer that we couldn't be together at all for at least 6 months. We did pretty good about that rule but as the year went on the more disreguard we paid to it. I wasn't to be with my Corps brothers either but Slim and I spent at least one day a month together. I still can't place Joe and Bonnie Phillips. Did they have kids? Chris and Robin...I remember them. I remember Hal and Nancy now too. She was a very pretty woman and very kind. Diaspara's...what were their first names? Oh I see Phil...what was his wifes name? I finally remember who I was in Twig with. Jenny and her husband whose name I can't remember...but she was an incredible artist. I really liked them. The twig coordinators was the couple from NY. He was a very successful business man. Their names escape me right now. I really enjoyed being with them. It was great to be at IC. I don't remember the pool incident...darn you you bad girl. Give me a hint maybe it loosen the cobwebs. Was Sheila F7? I need more info to remember her. Cindy and Bob Moser. I don't know where they are but they were great. Body Soul and Spirit was what that was called. I always enjoyed that. Hank Zylstra was our sleeper, I was known to fall asleep but Hank was out cold. So Hank and I had this joke going that when ever I went up to him i would shake him like he was sleep walking. I always wondered how he ever learned anything. He was a GREAT man. Karen was a real sweet heart too. Nancy Kegley was great. No I didn't know you two were together. DJ was 13th WC? She had a beautiful smile. That is good they are doing well. Well back to real life. I started this earlier and this wonderful contraption froze up on me...:(--> grrr.

Hmmm, where to start. I have a phobia of the front row too. I have never been there and wouldn't know how to act. I don't think I EVER got called on for retemories. I flew under the radar. I think I successfully made it through the WC without John Lynn even knowing I existed. I never got much attention from Tom Jenkins, Micheal Fort somehow remembered me for years...not sure why. Dave Bedard if he squinted MIGHT have remembered me. I am quite positive JAL never knew me. Bob Moynihan only knew me to yell at me to not page kids while I was the receptionist other then that I didn't have much to do with him either while inresidence. Later I got to know them at a Family Camp. Slim Dawson...very good friend of mine. We were on our interm year together in Alabama. Funny thing about his car though. His radio ONLY played country western music. I couldn't get anything else on it. Of course we were in Alabama I am sure that helped too. Paul Knoff was in the area too. I was a very blessed gal to have those two with me my interm year. They took very good care of me. Slim taught me how to skin a squirrel. PRICELESS huh? I walked into his kitchen and there in the sink was this cute dead squirrel hanging upside down just waiting for the lesson. There was this place in the town he was in "MountainBrook" very classy areas, unbelievable mansions but there was one street Slim called "squirrel lane" because there were always squirrels dead in the road. He would slow up open his door grab their tail and throw it in the floor boards of his car and go home and make squirrel stew...it tasted a lot like chicken. I am drawing a blank on his wifes name. She was 11th WC and a great seamstress and an older sister who is a corps grad also a great seamstress. I know they had one son named some LONG old testament name. I can only assume they are somewhere in Texas. I can't imagine him anywhere else in the world and be happy. He was very close with his mom who was a very classy LADY (yes in all caps). I sure hope that marriage survived. Geez, Debbie is the only name that keeps coming to my mind for her but I am quite sure that isn't it. It will come to me or one of you. I never got to spend any time with Slim our last year because he was working on the Auditorium the whole year. He barely made it in for Graduation it was that way for so many of our Corps men. They pressured him into going by Clark. It was never his choice. They were giving him the big picture that when he is ordained clergy and leading a large group it would be more respectful for them to refer to him as Clark. I am sure he promptly went back to Slim. His presence, stature and personality brought him respect not the name on the nametag. He was a good man and a good friend of mine. I remember when I first saw him on campus I tried talking to him (we were walking back from that drug store across from the campus in Emporia) and he was short with me. Basically he just blew me off. I was not impressed at all with him. I set it in my mind to get to know the heart of Slim. Rochelle and Slim were the only two I really felt like I needed to do that with and it paid off 100 fold with both. Good times Frank Thanks.

Suz has met me a few times and I am quite sure we had some fun together during my brief stint at IC. I knew who Suz was before I met George. So I knew them both seperate from each other. I know forsure during Corps Week one year her and I partied around some huge table at a farm somewhere around HQ. I have no idea whose house, who I came with and how long I was there BUT I remember walking in and Suz and George were there. I am sure we laughed quite a lot, told stupid stories, drank and left. I can't even tell you who was else there besides suz and George. Do I know you Steve?

Abissi of course. Were you not the #1 chair alphabetically? Ya, I was 10th from the end or something. I only had Youndblood, Zola, Zylstra behind me and boy did we have fun. Oh Frank I am sure that Lena sees you the same way you wild stalion you!! I respect your forsight to walk out that day. I hung around for years and I have got to say nothing much good happened in my life through those years. A lot of frustration and hurt. In depth spiritual perception??? Not so much. Let me tell you I haven't seen any of them or talked to most of them I mentioned since our 10th Anniversary and some who left before that like you. I have a list of 11th WC and every now and then I run across it in my never ending quest for organizing and weeding out and I go back over the names. I try to see their faces and It saddens me when no face comes to mind any more. I still see you and Lena. I don't think we ever worked on anything together. Never in the same twig, or work crew. I knew you two though. I knew you two were married too. I had forgotten that though. Did you two get married at the Corps weddings? Well, thanks for sharing Frank. Geez, what was the guys name Cindy married then? He was one of the younger guys. John??? Gee, every other person was named John huh? That was Thompson's first name. He was the farmer from MN and had a motorcycle. It is driving me crazy. He was a good man. Enough of all that. Back to real life. : )
