  1. "Paint your palette blue and gray Look out on a summer's day With eyes that know the darkness in my soul Shadows on the hills Sketch the trees and the daffodils Catch the breeze and the winter chills In colors on the snowy linen land Now, I understand, what you tried to say to me And how you suffered for your sanity And how you tried to set them free They would not listen, they did not know how Perhaps they'll listen now "Colors changing hue Morning fields of amber grain Weathered faces lined in pain Are soothed beneath the artist's loving hand Now I understand What you tried to say to me And how you suffered for your sanity And how you tried to set them free Portraits hung in empty halls Frameless heads on nameless walls With eyes that watch the world and can't forget Like the strangers that you've met The ragged men in ragged clothes The silver thorn of bloody rose Lie crushed and broken on the virgin snow Now, I think I know what you tried to say to me And how you suffered for your sanity And how you tried to set them free They would not listen, they're not listening still Perhaps they never will
  2. "Well, since she put me down I've been out doin' in my head"
  3. "Colors changing hue Morning fields of amber grain Weathered faces lined in pain Are soothed beneath the artist's loving hand Now I understand What you tried to say to me And how you suffered for your sanity And how you tried to set them free Portraits hung in empty halls Frameless heads on nameless walls With eyes that watch the world and can't forget Like the strangers that you've met The ragged men in ragged clothes The silver thorn of bloody rose Lie crushed and broken on the virgin snow"
  4. Tough one by me George.. I think I see a parallel with Arnold in some sequel, but I really don't have a clue what that might be, provided I'm reading this right?
  5. Next song: "Portraits hung in empty halls Frameless heads on nameless walls With eyes that watch the world and can't forget Like the strangers that you've met The ragged men in ragged clothes The silver thorn of bloody rose Lie crushed and broken on the virgin snow"
  6. "When I come home, Baby, My house is dark and my thoughts are cold"
  7. Okay Barry, then, "Eve of Destruction". Maguire. Barry Maguire. I'm not sure of the group's name. I have it on a CD called "The Spirit of the Sixties". It's a really terrific CD with some of greatest 60's songs on it.
  8. I've got the title, I'm not coming up with a complete name of the artist yet. Gary or Gerry? I don't know. He was solo artist.
  9. This thread must include the singers or the bands name with the title. A cover band or artist, waysider, is alright as long as it has received some play time on a mainstream radio station. You know like, ~Pearl Jams~ version of "Last Kiss" originally recorded by Wayne Cochran in 1961.
