Patrick Roberge is awaiting the return.

Long-time café-ers will remember Patrick Roberge who enjoyed Greasespot Café and the camaraderie and banter that goes on here. He was also the driving force behind ex-wayworld.com and ex-cultworld.com, and first tussled with TWI over the name of his first website, thewayofchrist.com.

He battled on though serious illness for the past 2 years, and finally succumbed this past Wednesday. The paragraph below is from his obituary:

Awaiting the return of Christ, our brother Patrick J. Roberge passed away Wednesday, Nov. 8, 2006 at surrounded by family and friends believing on the return of Christ. He said, “I go with this regard, I have made people laugh, cry, and angered some well. I leave behind many family and friends who are much loved”.

The funeral service is on Monday at:

St. Mark Roman Catholic Church
1251 North Avenue
Burlington, VT

Condolences can be either posted here (I will get them to his wife, Wenda) or posted online at the Funeral home.

http://www.funeralplan2.com/readyfuneral/obits?id=81076

The obituary is posted at this location as well.

Thanks,

Sue Moisiadis

Oh Gosh Pat,

You will be missed I remember you from the 11th corps.

Thanks for sharing your story about BG Leonard with me (us).

God bless your family

I am at a loss for words.

Pat and I communicated occasionally over the past 6 or so years. We had our ups and downs, but ultimately we had similar visions about the ex-way community.

I am very very saddened at this loss. He was a man committed to righting the wrongs that befell many of us. He was one of a few to pick up and run with that which he deeply believed.

Thank you, Sue, for letting us know.

He had asked for prayer not too long ago, which many here were happy to do on his behalf.

My sincere condolences to his wife, children and family.

Rest in peace, Pat.

J.

Sad news indeed. We had our wars. We had our differences. But we had a friendship, too. I'm very, very sad to hear this.

My heart's deepest condolences to Wanda and all of Pat's family and friends.

Yes, Pat fought the good fight...because he loved people and hated to see people getting hurt and/or suffering.

So often he was suffering and hurt himself, but he kept on keeping on...finally to the point that I was afraid to call him because it seemed that after every conversation he found new ways to help others while forgetting to help himself.

Pat, keep in touch. smile.gif
