In
The Way it's taught that anything that someone would say that might draw a
person away from the Word or cause a person to doubt the Word is a "fiery
dart" of the adversary.
This is probably a biblical concept, but in The Way, it's this teaching itself
that has become the "fiery dart."
I remember being in a meeting (planning a Way web site) with a number of TWI's
top leaders at HQ, and one of them commented that all of the negative stuff
about TWI that was on the Internet (at the time this was primarily John Juedes' site
and No Way Out) just amounted to
"fiery darts" from the adversary.
This high ranking leader
went on to say that if one allowed these fiery darts to remain in ones mind,
these darts would sink in and begin to have their intended impact - burning
holes into a person's logic with the lies of the adversary.
This Way leader was just reiterating the well established "party
line" on this issue. This "fiery dart" teaching seems sound on
the surface. But, the real effect that this teaching has on people in The Way
is that once they believe it, they stop listening to, and critically analyzing
any information that comes from sources other than The Way. That's where the
real fiery dart is!
Once Way followers have bought into the logic that anything that contradicts the
Word (translate = anything that contradicts V.P. Wierwille or L. Craig
Martindale) is a fiery dart, then they have unwittingly cut themselves off from
avenues of learning to their great detriment. Enslavement always results.
When it comes to the Internet, LCM is desperately trying to keep Way followers
away from the Internet and away from ex-Way sites. He claims that ex-Ways just
spit out "fiery darts" that will lead the reader to get possessed if
he / she were to let the darts sink in.
Nothing could be further
from the truth. The truth of the matter is that the Way trustees have dark and
dirty secrets and those secrets are finally getting brought into the light of
day. Martindale and his puppets see the writing on the wall. The reign of abuse
and terror are coming to an end.
THE WAY'S RECIPE FOR DISASTER:
1) CLOSE YOUR MIND TO EVERYTHING THAT DIFFERS FROM WHAT WAY LEADERS TELL YOU AS
THOSE THOUGHTS WILL ONLY LEAD TO POSSESSION.
2) DWELL SOLELY ON THE "BANQUET OF THE WORD" THAT WAY LEADERS PREPARE
AND SERVE YOU EACH WEEK AT SUNDAY SERVICE AND IN YOUR LOCAL AREAS AND VIA THE
CLASSES AND PUBLICATIONS THAT THEY PRODUCE.
3) STICK WITH THE "PRESENT TRUTH" AS TAUGHT TO YOU BY THE MINISTERS
IN THE HOUSEHOLD WHO LOVE AND CARE FOR YOU.
4) STAND FIRM IN THE HOUSEHOLD AND FIRM UPON THE "PRESENT TRUTH" THAT
YOU'VE BEEN TAUGHT AND YOU'LL REMAIN WITHIN THE SAFETY OF THE WALLS OF THE
FORTRESS OF ZION, SAFE FROM THE GNASHING, TEARING, BITING DEVIL SPIRIT REALM
THAT WANTS TO RIP YOU AWAY FROM YOUR FAMILY.
