April 5th 2000
Hi! Since April 1999
you've known me only as Ex-Twi. I chose to remain anonymous for several
reasons, but am now in a position where it is needful for me to reveal my
identity.
My name is Mr. Allen (no
relative of Howard Allen). My wife Fern (Frances) and I resigned from the 25th Way Corps and
left our staff positions at The Way International HQ on March 23rd 1999.
We have spent the past
year coming to grips with what happened to us during our time in The Way, the
Way Corps and on staff at The Way International headquarters and we have now
determined that our successful re-habilitation and our well-being depends on
seeking redress from The Way International and its trustees for the years of
fraud, exploitation, humiliation, slavery and sexual assault which we endured
at their hands.
Having presented The Way
International with an opportunity to make amends with us privately, and having
seen no effort on their part to recognize or take responsibility for their
actions, we have decided to institute legal proceedings against The Way
International and several of its chief officers/agents in the expectation that
we can obtain justice in the Ohio court system for these outrageous acts and
abuses.
On the advice of legal
counsel, we will not be commenting on these legal proceedings nor providing
more details concerning our case than is set forth in our complaint (published
here).
We would be thankful to hear
from any of you who feel that you can help us in the preparation of our case.
We welcome any information or testimony from those of you who believe that you
can help us substantiate and validate our complaint.
Please take the time to
read our complaint and carefully consider if you have any documents,
photographs or personal testimony/experiences that will help us validate and
document our complaint (or any portion of our complaint). Please feel free to
write to me if you need further clarification from me as to what would be
helpful information.
Thank you for wishing us
well as we embark on this course of action.
Thank you for submitting
information and testimony to me privately via e-mail (and our new PO Box for
regular mail) instead of disclosing your information/testimony on the
internet.
It is our hope that
discussion about our case amongst those of you who support our efforts will
stay on a general level and that specific details of our case and legal
strategies would not be discussed on the Internet. We thank you in advance for
your help in this matter.
This complaint (published
here) was filed with the Shelby County Court of Common Pleas in Sidney Ohio
on April 4th 2000, and as such is now a matter of public record. If you believe
that someone can be helped in some way by having a copy of this complaint,
please feel free to pass it along to them or pass along this web page address.
Sincerely,
Mr. Allen (Ex-Twi always)
