These are my personal notes taken from participating in this Way Corps only class on two separate occasions.

While these notes will not necessarily represent with 100 percent accuracy all that was said in this class (they are highly accurate though), they will give the non Way Corps reader their closest look into what Martindale wrote in his never published tribute book to Victor Paul Wierwille.

The book was presented to Dr. Wierwille on Oct 3rd 1982 at the 40th anniversary.

Please forgive the inevitable spelling and punctuation errors that are throughout this document. In-residence Corps training (where these notes were taken) is not a place where one can spend much time on personal projects like cleaning up spelling errors in personal notes.

This class is about 17 hours long, and consists of Martindale (on video tape) reading the entire VP and Me book and adding his personal comments to it. Each section of the book is read at a different and significant location on the grounds of The Way International Headquarters. Each Way Corps student will sit through this class (in its entirety) at least two times.

The class is a requirement for Way Corps in training. It clearly demonstrates to the in-training Corps person, that LCM (L. Craig Martindale) had a unique relationship with the founding president Victor Paul Wierwille, one of the Master Teacher and the Master Student. This class plays an important role in molding a Way Corps trainee and formulating his mindset to one of devotion and unquestioning obedience to Martindale.

This class plays a large part in establishing for the Corps trainee the legitimacy of Martindale's  accession to the Way throne and his right to dictate every minute detail in the lives of the Way Corps.

VP and Me

Location - Under tree beside the porch of the Wierwille home.

Spring of '81 the book got started on after a number of years filing notes and incidents.

Rhoda Wierwille did the typing. Her statement of encouragement to LCM on reading his notes is the real catalyst for the book going ahead full steam.

LCM spent 10 days on LEAD dictating notes and gathering his thoughts.

Meg Kish did the cover. It depicts LCM's head over Dr. W heart. Both their heads in the Word (background). Depicting - followers of us and then of the Word.

Donna got LCM to stick with the title of the book - V.P. and me.

The book was presented to Dr. W on Oct 3rd 1982 at the 40th anniversary.

Dr. read the book 3 times.

Donna wrote the foreword to the book.

The book shows the greatness of the teacher - student relationship. Dr. as the master teacher, and Rev. Martindale as the master student.

Preface of the book -

2 Tim 3:10 But thou hast fully known my doctrine, manner of life, purpose, faith, longsuffering, charity, patience,

2 Tim 3:11 Persecutions, afflictions, which came unto me at Antioch, at Iconium, at Lystra; what persecutions I endured: but out of them all the Lord delivered me.

2 Tim 3:14 But continue thou in the things which thou hast learned and hast been assured of, knowing of whom thou hast learned them;

LCM's heart in writing the book. - V.10 & V.14.

The book was written so that Dr. could hear it.

Most of the inidents were not written down at the time of occurence in diaries etc. The book was written mainly from recollection.

INTRODUCTION:

The art of the teacher and the student are exemplified here. Dr. helped LCM see the spiritual undestanding of the principles and morals that his (LCM's) father taught him in athletics.

The dedication verse for the book.

Col 1:6 Which is come unto you, as it is in all the world; and bringeth forth fruit, as it doth also in you, since the day ye heard of it, and knew the grace of God in truth:

1970 - 1971

The first time that LCm saw Dr. was when he was a senior at the university of Kansas.

LCm went to twig first and found the teahing to be tremendous (electrifying). Donny Fugit taught.

On Dec 8th 1970, Dr. Wierwille came to Laurence Kansas to the fraternity house of Joe Coulter to teach twig. LCM immediately recognised him as a "great man".

The first verse of Dr's teaching was 3rd John 2

3 John 1:2 Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth.

Rom 8:37 Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us.

LCM wanted to be right. Wanted to be convinced.

The next time LCM saw Dr was at Witchita Kansas when he visited with Claudettee Royal.

When he was first introduced to Dr. Wierwille, Dr said to him "Hello, - Well I have to go and eat this piece of cake."

Dr W would meet with all the believers from each city at a time in a room in the basement. All the lImb was there, but he'd meet with everyone branch by branch. Dr asked for help whenever he needed it. He asked Donny Fugit a question about something. LCM was very impressed and shocked that so great a man would ask for help in front of others.

The intimacy and candor of a man with God and his relationship with God.

One day LCM received a copy of a letter that had been sent to his home address ( he was on a job elsewhere at the time). The letter had been in response to his leter about coming into the Way Corps. It was a couple of weeks old! Across the top of the copy was written " Either call Dr. Wierwille or forget it!" - Howard Allen.

Lcm ran to teh phone and called Dr. Wierwille. Dr asked him if he would come to summer school to see how he shaped up for acceptance into the corps. LCM said he'd be there with all his money together etc.

LCm had always planned on going into the Christian ministry with his church, but after taking PFAL, he realised that he and his denomination no longer saw eye to eye on issues. He wanted now to go Corps!

June 71 > Heading to HQ.

LCM showed up without all of his money together for summer school. Walter Cummings led the meeting at LCMs first SNS at HQ. Dr taught on "Arise and Go!".

After the service LCM went to Dr at the advice of Mrs. Owens, and informed him that he did not have all of his money together for summer school. Dr looked at him and then said " You can stay as long as your money holds!". LCM really looked upon this as grace upon grace and resolved never to go behind in his financial responsibilities. If he ever went a day behind, he decided, he would leave. MAny times it would come down to the last day, but then another few days worth of money would come in.

LCM was stunned to see Dr. mowing the lawn at HQ. HE was in his shorts! Surely a man of God as important as Dr should not have to do meanial work like this. He should be inside studying the Word!

LCM began to reallise that there was a lot more in life to being God's man. He began to see the attention to detail in life that Dr had. He began to realise that you've got to see the floweres in life.

The freedom and joy that a man can have when he is immersed in service.

That summer Dr. taught the "Athletes of the Spirit" analogy for the first time.

Closing night of summer school.

1971 - Rock of Ages

Hippy movement. - Dr spent a lot of time greeting people and shaking hands.

Last night of the ROA, the lights went out. Dr's voice was heard " I'm still here".

Fall of '71

- start of Corps training. "Welcome home son!" Dr says to LCM after he gets back from a trip to Oklahoma to see his folks. It was right then that LCM realised and decided that HQ as now his home.

The very first corps night that LCM was ever at Dr. showed everyone how to manage a 3 X 5 card file to help keep track of peoples names etc. LCM had expected a big heavy teaching and was amazed once again at the stuff that Dr came up with. The practicallity of it.

Being on the inside of things really thrilled LCM. His first job was in the printing shop (trailer).

One night a few months later, LCM was asked to drive Dr and Mrs. W to the restaurant where the holiday party was happening that year. He drove at 35 very nervously. He had the man of God in the car! Dr finally told him to speed up a bit!

Dr asked him while driving would he like to be the WOW coordinator. He said "Sure" (gulp).

LCM realised that God had prepared him for that only a month previously by telling him that.

Commission the second wave of WOWs that year, LCm now being the coordinator, was asked if he wanted to have breakfast for the WOWs before they left to go on the field. Not being a morning breakfast type of person, and thinking that the ministry could save some money instead, he choose to not have breakfast prepared for the departing WOWs that day. The WOWs left before 7am that day with no food.

When Dr heard that he was very hurt. He asked at lunch who had made the decision to sent the WOWs away on an empty stomach. LCM put up his hand and admitted it was he.

The learning he got was that finances are not the sole variable in moving the Word. There are times to spend and times not to. Being frugal is not the same as being stingy!

Revelation will be there as you ove on a decision.

Always get both sides of the story. WOW incident involving two WOWs.

A leader must picture his people delivered.

Receiving revelation involved logic and horse sense with revelation.

Dr. Taught the returning WOWs on "My life as a failure" in the context of teaching so many and so few believing.

Location - South Trustee Office.

LCM's 1st year in the way Corps

Meal times are great times of learning.

Dr shared with them the example of two local business who stayed their minds daily for one hour on their business to try yo bring to pass the things they wanted to see happen. That triggered LCM to start thinking about stayed mind and to start thinking in terms of visual imagery.

LCM read the "blue book" - "Release from your prisons" every morning for three weeks.

Uncle Harry and Dr W would sometimes argue with each other. Sometimes in front of the corps. But they always resolved the issue, and when the arguement was over, they walked away with no resentment or bitterness etc. They would move on and stick with the decision.

One meal time - Incident of the 30th anniversary banquet and Dr wanted all the men to dress in tuxedos. Uncle Harry said that that might not be the best utilization of the believers money, having to rent tuxedos and buy them etc. Why couldn't people just wear nice suits if they had them? Dr erupted and said " That's cause you just want to wear that calf-shit brown suit that you have and love to wear!", everyone blurted out laughing.

It was finally decided to wear tuxedos.

1st Cor 2: 9-16 > This was when LCM learned the great concept of literals according to usage. A research project of Dr. W's.

Incident when Dr.W didn't know what to do about a WOW who had gone off her rocker. LCM on seeing how he handled the situation, learned from it that you take help from people that you love and trust. You may not have all the answers yourself. Dr had said " I don't know what to do Howard, tell me what I can do!". Dr later took the girl into his home for a few weeks and got her back to health.

LCM learns about the athletes analogy of staying at your prime physically and spiritually.

LCM takes over as 2nd corps coordinator.

As you are moving with your current responsibility, God is training you for your next assignment.

Being a genuine student is an artform.

Taking the ball and running with it.

LCM learns the difference between Function and Position.

LCM would picure himself doing what Dr would do in certain situations.

The challenge and desire to learn always leads to suerb learning.

A leader has to live life, keep his abilities up front and keep moving.

When to be flexible and change for the the better and when to keep the tried and trusted method.

Secong guessing himself used to be a habit until he decided to stop and get rid of it. Just because you go through a few experiences does not mean that you have mastered it yet.

Location - Fountain & Garden of Living Waters.

LCM wanted to share with the Corps things that he learned from Dr W seeing that it is not available for us to spend time with him.

A leader is always trying to maximize time spent.

The greatest learning takes place at the point of need. Just like with kids.

There's nothing that can't be fixed. LCM had been working with a broken rototiller all day. Every few minutes it would cut out. He hadn't tried to fix it because he had een told that it could not be fixed. Dr came by on his motorbike and asked what was wrong with the tiller. Why was it cutting out all the time? He got off his bike, took out some tools and fixed it. "There's nothng that can't be fixed" he said to LCM. Then he got on his bike again and rode off.

How quickly the mind must work in crisis situations. Incident of the rototiller that caught fire as they filled it with gas. Dr instantly began to throw soil and dirt on the flames and put it out. His mind didn't flinch. Practice how you play! You never will respond in a crisis if your mind is slovenly.

If a student is genuinely interested in learning, he will take the admonition the first time. It doesn't have to take multiple reproof sessions to get someone to change. Nor does it have to take years of trial and error.

Bible lands tour.

If a person hangs around a hot fire, he's bound to pick up some of the heat.

Megeddo -(Armageddon) - crossroads of the world.

Dr always had literature with him that he could leave behind.

Attention and respect - that's what a leader needs to have when talking to people. The love of God is what gives a leader the authority to give and serve.

The incident of Uncle Howard getting sick. "Keep your mind moving, your mouth shut, and your prayers going upward".

Dr had said " If God does not intervene with a special miracle, Howard will die".

Location - BRC

June 71

LCM first SNS took place in the BRC. He wrote a poem called "House of Heart".

2nd year in residence.

As a teacher Dr took great joy in knowing that his students were learning.

You don't look for negatives in people. However you can't be blind to what's going on around you either. There s a balance.

Horse Sense is probably the greatest part of CP1. Dr came to their trailer and started pointing out all the details they were missing. Broken door handles, window handles etc. Little things that needed fixing.

"Family of God" - Dr first heard the song while fishing in Wisconsin.

Learn to pre-think tings - example of log stumps. Don't pick them up and move them until you know where there their destination place will be.

Dr would often be more excited about the way his students presented the Word than he would be about his own presentations.

Dr was thinking about Word over the World and the fine arts etc. Had a great artist in to train the corps people who had shown talent and interest in the arts. The guy never really tokk the ball and ran with it though.

Dr told LCM > "We trust you to coordinate anything in the Way Ministry ".

Decision to send LCM on the field to expand his exposure to diferent situations etc.

19 people in the 2nd corps.

My paycheck is the satisfaction of every night knowing you've done your utmost for His Highest. _ Make sure you cash your check today!

Emotions never dominate the practicallity of clear thinking and moving.

"You're the best - Go get them!" - First time LCM heard Dr use that expression was upon graduation from the corps and as he was being assigned to go to Oklahoma.

Dr called LCm after 3 weeks on the field and asked him how come he hadn't called since he arrived in Oklahoma? What kind of ego trip are you on???

Never was LCM confronted with an incident that he wasn't prepared for while in residence.

Dr. had all the corps come back in after 4 months to regroup and assess the impact of their activities. There were only about 29 corps on the field at this point and so having the fellowship of fellow corps was a wonderful time for them all. It really helped them keep on track and not get into their own orbits.

Dr shared the 5 point family plan.

Always have your best foot forward when presenting the Word. Incident of the tatty book cover of a book on display when Dr came to a meeting of LCM's. He told him to change the book.

Dr always put the ministry ahead of himself.

Time that Dr spent time with LCM's folks.

1974

LCM teaches the ROA for the first time. The rain comes pouring down. Dr stickes his hand out from behind the curtain and pushes him out into the rain. If the people are going to get wet, so should you! Spontaneous song leading with Dr and LCM. The rain stops and the teaching can resume a short while later. LCM does a great job.

This is where LCM began to learn about being spontaneous and able to do spur of the moment teacings.

His recollection of that time was a picture of "Man of God on the loose".

Part 2 - "Fellowlabourers in the Gospel"

Location - Under Mulberry Tree.

1974-1975

1st year of family in the Corps. The 5th Corps are in their 1st year of in-residence.

LCM begins to lead and frequently run the SNS at HQ.

Really worked the Word on the "Great mystery revealed". He bagan to become a genuine teacher to the Way Corps. His year on the fiels had helped him develop as a spiritual leader.

He was developing his abilities to teach extemporaneously.

Dr stated that "never again would they mortgage the Way International" - they had mortgaged HQ to pay for Emporia. - Dr gave all of them a piece of the mortgage, which LCM now keeps in one of his old bibles.

Dr allowed LCM plenty of room to grow but not too much where he'd botch things up and set himself backwards.

LCM worked after spiritual goals.

Linda Mc Duffie was one of the first in the Corps with kids. She had a couple.

One time Dr saw a piano placed on a piece of cracked plywood to protect the floor. Must have looked crap because he got upset that people weren't taking care of the place physically. It looked like crap. "You've got to fight for this place" he'd said. Tenderness and aggressiveness were exemplified.

One time Dr took LCM to a basketball game. Dr bought the program and for the first fifteen minutes, he spent the time memorizing the program, looking at the players then back at the program etc. Making sure he had all the details he needed to see the game and enjoy it. Then he gave the program to LCM and told him he could have it as he (Dr) didn't need it anymore. - LCM was blown away, because it demonstrated the aggressiveness and intensity that Dr always had for whatever he did. Even play time. When he did something, it was full speed ahead. Even when relaxing.

Incident of the guy in the 5th Corps dying as a result of a car wreck.- He had left grounds without permission with another corps brother, and got involved in a wreck. Dr was very involved in the funeral arrangements and in ensuring the hearts of his parents were taken care of. He observed protocol to the maximum with the arrangements. He provided honour lines of Corps for the family as they left the grounds, and again as they got on the plane to go home. The guy was buried in the Way Woods after cremation. Dr thought that cremation was a very practical way to be dealt with when you die.

Once Dr took LCM and a couple of others to a dinner where Tennison Guyer, US House of Representatives would be speaking at. There was an amazing lack of protocal displayed at the dinner. No one stood when he entered the room. People began eating as soon as the food was set in front of them. They did not wait for the head table to begin, etc. On the contrary, Dr and LCm and the others were the only ones to stand etc. They displayed all appropriate protocol in the situation. This respect they showed him lead to a private meeting that they were invited to for about 30 minutes.

Dr - You've got to enjoy this ministry or it'll drive you crazy.

Some in-residence Corps had approached Dr and LCM about the need to make adjustments in the In-residence Way Corps training. They needed it to be easier as they had families. Dr thought about it for awhile and then came back with his response which was to back up LCM totally and tell the in residence people that if they couldn't handle the heat, then leave. LCM was very blessed to see that Dr had backed him up and endorsed the way he was running the program.

Total Fitness Institute - John Somerville. The pre cursor to LEAD. On one session however, an experiment was carried out in the training and many people were not blessed with it. Dr when he heard about it was very upset.

One time LCM dozed off in a meeting while an in-residence corps person was sharing something. The in-residence person saw him and in front of everyone asked "Are you sleeping, Craig?". Dr was in the meeting also. LCM was highly embarrased at the incident. - The next day Dr came to LCM and with tears in his eyes apologised for not having acted on the situation immediately. He informed LCm that he had reprooved the guy for doing what he did and that it would never happen again. LCM was blown away that the man of God was so humble.

CF&S class filmed that year. Some of the 4th Corps helped. It was filmed in a studio in Michigan.

One time a meeting was planned in the Way Woods and LCm was thinking through getting Dr home after the meeting. He wanted him to be able to use his golf cart to drive home. So LCM told a corps guy to go and take the golf cart and bring it to the meeting place. LCM said that he would get the necessary clearance from Dr. Wierwille. He forgot to get the clearance, and the next time he saw Dr. he was chewed out. Dr stuck his finger into his chest and said "Keep your hands off my stuff". LCM apologised. He had slipped up and forgotten a detail and Dr was teaching him yet again.

The only thing bigger in Dr's heart than peope is the Word.

After talking with LCM one day Dr, dismised all the corps for bad attitude problems. He told them " OK as of right now, you're all out of the Corps". He then madeit available to all of them to reapply to him by filling out a 3 X 5 card. The card had to express their willingness to obey leadership. Someof them decided to leave rather than obey.

As leaders in the ministry you sometimes can't get involved with eeryones problems. You just don't have the time. Sometimes all you can do is be there for your people in a crisis. _ LCM had a number of incidents where he hadn't been aware of certain people having difficulties. He had felt foolish for not knowing about it and not having been there to help.

1975-1976

1st year of Way Corps at Emporia.

Dr said to LCM > " Now it's your baby, keep it moving, have no regrets". - One of the great learnng standards - Have no regrets.

Dr loved to plant trees above any other work endeavour.

Some people claimed that the ministry were turning the Way Corps into slave labor. They were working on getting Emporia into shape. Dr said to LCM, People love to work, they love to invest their labor into a place they have pride in.

LCM finally decided he needed to get married. He goes to Dr and lets hm knoe his thoughts and seeking advice. Dr promised he'd look out for a good woman for him.

Later LCM decided to marry Donna and immediately told Dr. Dr said - "She's a good woman" and then rode quickly off on his motor bike. LCm found out later that he had gone at once to call Donna and talk to her to let her know and understand fully what she was getting into with LCM. He was going to be a great leader in the ministry and she had to be prepared to handle herself accordingly etc.

Donna was in residence at the time but Dr gave her permission to visit Emporia frequently so that they could get started early on getting to know each other.

One situation arose when LCM made a gift presentation to Dr but ommited to make one to Mrs W. She was very embarrased due to the breach in protocol. Privately, the next day, Dr and MRs. W. reprooved LCM for the error. If you are going to lead God's people, you cannot miss on protocol. It's representing God and the ministry.

You haven't really learned from a mistake until you do it sucessfully.

Location - House of his Healing Presence

Mal Gearge was the first one to build a house of healing presence while at a Way Family Camp.

Living Victoriously and 40th anniversary were both opened here at the House.

LCM emphasises that the chronology of events is not always going to be perfect in the book. This is the best that his recollection allows.

1975 - 1976

Dr presents LCM with a used Honda 350 to skoot around the campus on. Dr took LCm out that evening to properly instruct him on how to use a motorbike safely.

Discussions with Dr regarding Corps with low levels of sponsorship. Dr allowed LCM to sit with him for a week as he (Dr) talked with each corps person in that predicament. Dr came up with suggestions to help people and challenged them to figure out things themselves. He told the corps that smoked that they needed to quit if they wanted to stay. The money they saved could go towards their sponsorship. Dr required committment from people. Then he helped them with their believing. He made smoking agreements with a number of people.

Later on that year, one of the people came to LCm to confess that they had breached the no smoking agreement. That spured LCM to ask each one of the people involved had they kept the committment. Had they at any time since the agreement had a cigarrette. 15 of them said that they had smoked.

After some careful deliberation, LCm dismissed the 15 from the Corps for the breach. He felt he didn't need to ask Dr. W for clearance. Dr had told them they could stay if they kept their part of the deal. Once they broke it, they had disqualified themselves.

Dr upon hearing the news agreed with LCM's decision but a few days later decided to offer these people a new chance. He challanged them to get all of their money together in one week and re-committ to the agreement if they wanted back in. A number of them did come back in.

The incident of the 6th Corps girl that was deprogrammed by Ted Patrick - the famous deprogrammer. After the ordeal she didn't want to come back in residence. Dr was shocked at the whole affair. He was stunned that this could happen in America.

This was the start of the deprogramming incidents. There were a number of them after this. They had to come up with a solution for handling this.

Dr and LCM always fought for people to stay in the Corps. - There was an incident of a guy in the Corps who all of a sudden went "gooney-bird". He started to babble and not make sense. LCM worked hard with the guy to help him but he was incoherent. Dr, when he met him confronted him by asking - "Son, how come your letting your mind get all scrambled?" The guy answered unintelligably and Dr told him that it would be best for him just to pack his bags and go home. - The guy understood that. He left.

LCM spent many hours and many long distance phone calls trying to make sure the guy had gotten home from his bus ride home safely. Not being able to verify his location, he was concered. Dr told him to move on. There's nothing you can do, he'll show up at home soon enough. A week later the guy did show up at home!

There was afire at a maintainence building (shack) at Emporia one time and LCM couldn't figure out why it had happened. He finally thought back cleary enough in his memory and remembered God telling him to go check the place out. He had blown it. When Dr called regarding the situation, he didn't reproove LCM for the fire happening. LCM had lready learned where he had blown it. Dr knew that. He simply told him ti move on.

Dr began working and teaching the book of Acts verse by verse over the next two years. He encouraged the corps to work the book of Acts from the perspective of the eight concluding statements that he laid out for them. Dr had thrown out the ball as he so often did and LCM picked it up and ran with it. The result was ultimately the "Rise and Expansion" book. LCM put in 8 - 16 hours per day for a week working the subject.

The incident of two corps grads considering divorce. Dr called the husband in in front of a number of the leaders and openly confronted him and challanged him to keep his marriage together. Divorce is wrong. What is love? The Word of God!

Dr was now teaching corps nights at HQ on Tuesdays, then right afterwards he'd get on the coach and go to Emporia to teach the corps there on Wednesdays. He did this for years. Just like in Acts 11 - Antioch, they had a new root locale.

August 1976 - LCM and Donna get married.

1976 - 1977

Dr wants LCM to go on the field and promote the Way Corps. The way he wants him to approach it is to try to scare people off the Corps program. Letthem know how tough it is and how comitted they need to be.

LCM and Dona leave on their trip and fail to say goodbye to Dr before they leave. When they get back, Dr reprooves them for the matter. He was genuinely hurt. Dr always was thinking of his people.

Deprogramming come up again. As one way to repond, Dr had an in residence corps person who had a masters degree in psychology lecture the corps on the matter of learned helplessness and Pavlov's dogs etc. Then Dr would bring all the lecture back to the Word. There was little else that they could do regarding the situation but that helped relieve the tension and hurt that a lot of them felt. It ministered to peoples hearts.

Then a corps girl escapes from the deprogrammers and makes it back on campus. As she was brought into the meeting (as Dr had requested) where Dr was teaching, he stopped and opened his arms for her. It was a very emotional moment. Everyone was crying. Dr had her accompany him everywhere he went for the next few weeks, to help her heart heal. He made her a part of his life.

LCM discussed his work on "Musterion" with Dr.

PFAL 77

- Dr lets LCM teach to a huge audience. - Even when you think that oyu know your material, always work the Work and re-study the material before you teach it.

Don't make decsions based on what you feel. Base your decisions on what people need. - Incident of Dr calling for a dance on the final session of PFAL 77. All the crew were tires, but the need for the students was a dance. The dance turned out to be a major blessing.

Dr developed the technique of wearing the microphone behind the tie. It had not been done before in the secular world. Most thought that you couldn't make the voice sound authentic enough when it is muffled behind cloth. Our ministry showed it could be done. Dr was always thinking of ways to be better.

Presidents flower is the red "American Beauty" rose. The flower of the Way International is the white carnation. - When you present flowers to a woman, you present them so that the flowers are over her heart, not the stems.

While at PFAL 77 Dr walked up to LCM on stage and said "You're a great man!". Dr, always the master of the one - liners.

Location - Way Corps Chalet. Back porch.

Jan 20 1982 - Dedication of the Way Corps Chalet.

Uncle harry dies. New Trustees are installed while Uncle Harry is in hospital. Uncle Harry made a tape from hospital to be played at the installation ceremony. Uncle Harry dies Oct 12th 1977.

Meeting in the conference room of the Wierwille home (next to fireplace room). Dr states " I don't think you know just how much Uncle Harry has done so that you could have the Word today".

Dr's open handling of Uncle harry's death was what helped peoples hearts get healed so quickly. Everyone was thinking about Uncle Harry anyway, so why not talk about it.

Preventitive believing: Incident of someone reacing over Leah (who was in a bassinet) to pour hot coffee at the table. Leah was one month old at he time. Dr watched and was ready to spring. But after the incident he brought it to everyones attention.

Rise & Expansion. Dr commented that without genuine rise there would never be any genuine expansion. Any expansion without genuine rise was counterfeit.

Life is an art when one is committed to being a doulos.

When class ended Dr had everyone pick up butts and trash from around the hotel. Always leave a place better than when you found it.

Ellie Ray Allen shows everyone how to ride a motorcycle. Neighbour bithches about the noise. They tell him to get lost. Dr when he hears of the neighbour threatening to call the cops, tells the guy "It's our land and we'll do whatever we wants on it. Now crank it up Ellie Ray!".

Protocal does not mean that you can't speak the truth.

The Marxist Minstrils by Dr. David Noble. He handled homosexuality and rock music and it's influences on culture today. Dr W had him come and do a paid speech to the Way Corps. Dr informed him of the caliber of students that he was dealing with and that he should let it rip and not hold back the gorey details etc. He said that the Corps could handled anything that he could throw at them.

Dr Noble did not do as he was asked. He held back and ended up doing a bland speech. Dr. Wierwille reprooved him afterwards and asked him to get back on track for his second scheduled speech. Dr Noble responded like a champion. He accepted the reproof meekly and did a magnificient job with the second speech.

Dr Wierwille didn't hold back from speaking the truth in love no matter who the individual was or what his position was. He handled it privitely of course.

June 78 - Advanced Class Bristol England.

Get your preparation done ahead of time. Dr used to do a lot of his work while in flight. That way, as soon as he arrived at the location, he was ready to lead and teach.

He spent one day and night in Ireland on this trip. He had supper in a local restaurant with the leadership.

Bristol Advanced Class - John Wesley, George Mueller.

Dr had the whole class visit the grave of George Mueller. Dr had a great respect for people in history who had significance on our ministry. Dr organized for the bristol twig to take care of the Mueller grave site. They still do so to this day.

LCM starts to think in terms of our ministry and it not failing if and when Dr dies.

Dr learned other histories and other cultures to help move the Word in those countries. Why did Wesley's ministry basically fail when he died?

1) Wesley never saw through the Trinity.

2) He never spent enough time training leadership. He tried to do it all himself.

3) Towards the end of his life, his leadership began to quarrel among themselves.

We must innoculate the world with the truth of ONE GOD.

Dr had tremendous respect for great men. The man who designed the suspension bridge over the Avon river in Bristol. It was the world's first suspension bridge. Dr wanted to be that good with the Word of God.

Location - Motor Coach (75 Coach).

Having coaches certainly can add length to your life. Using propper equipment can be a real benefit to someone. Sleeping in the same bed every night as opposed to a different hotel room each night is beneficial to the health and well being.

Everything about Dr's life is geared towards moving the Word. Dr always had an interest in teaching on proper diet and foods.

Location - Office of the Corps Chalet.

Without meekness and a real love for the Word and the practical application of the Word, a man can't really bless anyone.

Incidents of people on the research team eaving the ministry because they felt that they knew better. Dr always demonstrated great love towards them.

ROA 1978 theme - "The Hope".

If you really have something to suggest, then suggest it. If not, then say nothing! Don't suggest something because you feel you are expected to. Doing that is dishonest. People in leadership need to able to trust in you and your opinion. If you make suggestions for the sake of making them, you are now causing the leader to think through your suggestion and decide whether it has merit or not. You are making extra work for him or her. That's not honest!

Incident of a 6th Corps girl complaining to Dr that there was too much bad language. Dr considered it and suggested that everyone in leadership should set the example. Less bad language!

Incident of Dr landing in Anchorage Alaska on a commercail flight. The landing was ridiculously bumpy. Dr commented to the woman beside him that if his pilot landed like that, he'd fire him. He then used that as a door to witness to her.

Dr was concerned that the younger people in the ministry might not be getting a fair shake at the leadership responsibilities in the ministry. Not getting the opportunity to make their mark in the ministry. He suggested that some of those on staff nedded to go on the field and get off of staff for a while. If the shoe fits, wear it. LCM considers leaving staff and asks Dr whether the advice applied to him or not. Dr said no!

Dr didn't have the time to read everything sent to him and so the research team idea was developed.

LCM teaches R& E at the Advanced Class 79 at Athens Ohio.

Dr teaches by example the proper placement of seats so that all students can have an unobstructed view of the teacher.

Dr reprooves LCM for not being his best when teaching at the Adv Class. He told him to get it together. Do whatever needed to be done so that he was at his best for teaching. LCM realised that he was trying to do too much with being an MC and all. He cut bck on his other responsibilities and got rested so that he performed much better.

Dr stated to LCM "Son, you're seeing things and teaching things that I've known for years but never documented from the Word.

Meg Kish presented her "Dechomai" Pentecost picture.

Dr saw that LCM needed moretime to properly cover the R&E subject. It was increased from 6 hours to 9 hours.

1st Corps Week!

Part Three: The Master Student - The Future Unfolds

1980

During the Adv Class 79, Dr announced that he waould be retiring as president in the next few years and that a new president would be picked. LCM had the thought that it would be him, but he didn't dwell on it.

Dr and LCM invite / request all the (in residence and on field) Corps to write their autobiographies. OCt 79 was set for the deadline. Dr was hurt when not many responded by the deadline. LCM had not done his yet either. Dr reprooved LCM in front of the corps. How can you expect the younger Corps do something when the leadership didn't do it either.

Dr displayed great love and tenderness to him the next morning by inviting him to lead the 10:30 am fellowship.

Dr asked LCM to come and help him at Gunnison. They had to dismiss the coordinators.

Dr was very tired and weak when they were walking back to the coach one night while at Gunnison. Dr had a hard time breathing etc. LCM was extremely concerned. At the coach, Dr told LCM " You remind me of Rufus Mosely, all the love he had for me!"

Sometimes the door to discus certain things with people doesn't open. Example of whether LCM should go back to college to get a degree. LCM was concerned that his lack of having a degree would hinder him from moving the Word or helping in the ministry.

Once a man or woman reaches the level of ordination - "There's no turning back" An ordained person would die first before copping out! Many however did cop out.

Dr once said " I wonder if you guys will be able to hold this ministry together after I'm gone , or will you just bicker with each other and ry and climb over each other?".

Incident f disagreement between Dr and LCM's dad. The sussequent resolution. The letter that Dr wrote to his dad. The phone call and resolution.

1980 -81

Way Corps has increased in size. But the concern is still for the individual.

Incident of a guy not taking notes during a session in the BRC. Dr stopped and told him to pack up and go home. The next morning Dr asked LCM to go get the guy and bring him over to the courtyard. Dr asked him if he'd ever finished anything in his life before. He answered that he hadn't. Dr decided to give him a second chance and explained to LCM that if this guy didn't make it through the Corps and finish it, then his life from here on in would be a wash-out.

Corps placements - to bless the individual first, then the ministry.

Picking a new president for the ministry. Dr was not there for the actual announcement of the next president. Don made the announcement for him. They were in the BRC and had been instructed to be there for the announcement. Everyone in the room had given in a slip of paper with their sugestion on it. Dr reviewed them and then left. When Don came back in all he said was, "Craig, you're the man!"

Jan 81 - SNS. Official announcement of the new president. LCM shares for his acceptance speech.

LCM realizes the benefis of having Dr retire early. The early announcement was also beneficial. It gave people time to adjust to the new circumstances. Dr telss LCM only to give thanks to God for the homor of getting the presidency. It's not necessary to thank everyone who helped teach you.

Dr and LCM discuss making the "Prevailing Word" video. Acts 19

February 1981

German shorthair "Tick" dies. Dr had no ego. When his heart was hurt he was willing to turn to the people he knew cared for him.

President Reagan gets shot. They are getting ready to go into the NCAA finals in Philadelphia. Dr is shocked. In the coach they pray for him to live so that he could continue to be our president, and then go inside to the game.

3 John 1:4 I have no greater joy than to hear that my children walk in truth.

There is no greater sorrow than to hear that a trusted follower no longer walks in the truth. Incident of the research guy who decided to leave the ministry due to differences in opinion on the Word. He claimed that the research team did nohing but cow-tow to Dr. "Yes-Men".

Dr always strove to have a proper research enviroment.

JCOP book - their was a hardness of attitude in the manuscript. Dr sniffed it out and discovered that it was due to the guy who had left the team. He had been working extensively on it.

R&E is video-taped. Dr came to first session to check out all the details of the class. Dr instructed the back room staff on how to handle and care for LCM. Dr was crying when the final session came up. "I feel right now what it says in the gospels - " This day is this scripture fulfilled in your ears". It was the greatest compliment that LCM had ever heard.

Trustee annual meeting in Canada. It takes a lot of work to relax. To do it right. Preparation!

Dr tells them that - Howard will help keep the heart in the ministry. Don will keep it administratively and academically right. You (LCM) keep it spiritually hot!

The opening of the Indy 500 has to as exciting for all these people as the opening of the ROA is for all of our people!

It isn't just the accuracy of the Word that we teach. It's the heart with which we teach it! > One God Class.

Decision to have Walter Cummins run the SNS and Corps nights. That would leave LCM with a lot of pressure off of him initially.

Where to place the WOW auditorium. Originally thought to have it near the covered bridge area.

Exposing yourself to new situations is a habit that leaders should have if they want to remain fluid.

Rodeo School - Dr tells LCM to get involved. He wants to be able to accurately assess the value it will be to the corps training.

You find out where peoples hearts are at when you reproove them. It's easy to get along when everyone is nice. It doesn't matter who handles the matter so long as it gets handled.

Dr was always humble enough to be bold. Incident of correcting Bob Richards the olympic athlete who came to speak at Emporia. He was using words inaccurately, eg. create, possess etc.

Dr always did it with love and diplomacy.

1980 - 81

Ermal Owens dies while Dr & LCM are at the Adv Class at Emporia. In the case of death, sometimes it's better to just be there. It's the concern that you show that is comforting.

"I guess that I'm the last one from the original Board of Trustees left alive" Dr said in the elevator as they went to announce to the class the death.

Dr said "If it wasn't for the hope of the return, I couldn't take the pressure".

The Popper property becomes available. Dr asks whether anyone was working on buying it. They had all though to wait for a discreet amount of time after the death. Dr jumped on it.

"Athletes of the Spirit" production. Dr called it a "Masterful" production.

Mean what you say in both reproof and compliments.

Express it accurately. If it's a good job say so. If it's a great job, say so!

1981 - 1982

Dr spends one month in Gunnison with Mrs. Wierwille.

"One of a kind" ready to be reviewed. Preview in Denver. Safety in a multitude of councellors. They view the film 3 times. They got over the emotional stuff and watched it often enough so that they could begin to see the mechanics of it. They got past emotions to where they could be analytical with it.

Only solid and determined decisions get action. - Move to the OSC for SNS.

Emotions have never ruled Dr's logic. His emotions have supported it.

Trustee meetings in the clubhouse. Consider the absolute extremes, and then work backwards from there.

40th Anniversary weekends.

Love is an interesting thing with many variables. Sometimes it is appropriate to let others get blessed. That's love.

A leader keeps pace with his paperwork by grabbing moments here and there.

Incident of press conference. Reporters show up improperly dressed for the event. Dr reprooves them for being so casual and disrespectful to him. As a head of a large corporation, he should be treated more respectfully.

InAuguration Pre-meeting and Pre-planning.

Dr had already thought through the bible for swearing in LCM. LCm wanted to be sworn in with his bible he used for his first PFAL class. Uncle Harry's robe was offered.

Location: Lower porch - Corps Chalet.

1981- 1982

Dr and Mrs. W moved into the chalet for two weeks to work out the bugs and tenderize the place. LCM was at the Indiana campus when he heard that he would be living there. Dr decided that LCM and Donna should not have to have another couple live with them. They needed their privacy. A place to relax.

Dr wanted to see the Corps being trained with more practical and less academic. 1st year - learn how to run a twig and a class. Last year more academic.

Dr was able to argue with people without holding grudges.

"Athletes that win" - Opening speech by Dr for an Athletes conference.

Dr always taught at the point of violation. The conference got side tracked into the more practical stuff life - How to throw a ball, etc. Dr reprooved LCM and told him to get it back to the Word. You can learn that stuff anywhere. Here we teach the Word!

Honesty, heart, frankness, truth were all attributes of Dr. Wierwilles.

A leader has to be able to carry the heart of the ministry.

A leader gives people his life.

LCM never forgot who taugth him the Word. It's that humbleness that helps keep a mans' equilibrium.

It's wonderful what happens people when you threaten to take their money away. - Incident of Trustees meeting in Canada. The cabin needed repairs to keep mosquitos out. Threatening to leave and not pay got the atention of the owner and hos speedy response.

We teach the Word for free because we love to.

What a habit of attitude to develop. Go for the gold in everything you do. - Incident of going fishing in the storm.

Dr. organized the tackle boxes - faithful in least.

Dr. never used to breath down LCM's neck. He walked, lived and was there at the right place at the right time.

Always a student if you are going to be a real leader.

Teaching has to be positive. Define the problem if needed, BUT get to the solution.

Living Victoriously - 15 one hour teachings.

Dr. checked and rechecked his announcement regarding the presentation of the book at "Living Victoriously" (Leather bound "Receiving the Holy Spirit"). Someone complained that not all students were getting a gift of one. Dr's solution was to present a 40th anniversary seal, autographed by him, to all who did not qualify for a book.

Dr. thought about photos and recordings etc for the value to future believers. Always loking ahead.

Location - outside OSC @ the wall mural of Sower and seed. / also by fireplace in OSC (Dr was sitting off camera listening).

1982

Onw week after LIving Victoriously, Head off to Camp Gunnison for Corps graduations.

Dr said that he had extended himself in Living Victoriously more than he had ever done. "A man could work 5 -6 hours of solid teaching out of every hour of them" - Dr. W

Dr had a special respect for his family and for his background.

The Wierwille family must stand if the Word is to live.

Talk of purchasing a Corps property in Winsor, Canada.

Dr's thinking and perspective were always from the spiritual perspetive. Why not think the best?

Get on the attack in terms of being aggressive and positive with our PR work. Don't wait for shit to happen and then try to handle it. Move before it happens!

A leader can't let up for one minute. Get your relaxation from blessing God's people.

Dr teaches on ethics of gambling and homosexuality.

Dr is God's man. Leah - dog whistle incident.

Dr was very concerned that his family would be involved in his last SNS that he would organize and teach atas president. "The Knowledge of God" - was the teaching. > Resurrection teaching.

LCM never left Dr's presence thinking that their meeting had been routine and meaningless.

This marks the conclusion of the Original VP & Me as presented to Dr. Wierwille at the 40th Aniversary. It was later expanded on and the rest follows in subsequent sessions.

Location - OSC / Stage area. (Dr. and Mrs. W. present this segment).

Dr. made many of his notes from meetings available to the backstage people so that they could get prepared for the next events.

Dr was the one who taught LCM to look for new and different ways to express truths. Trying to pull yourself up by your bootstraps only makes you dig yourself deeper in the mud.

The title of the book VP & Me helped LCM stay in bounds with what he decided to write. Many times he wanted to included events and incidents of when he applied lessons learned from Dr and how they affected his life. But the book would have been too long.

Num 6:24 The LORD bless thee, and keep thee:

Num 6:25 The LORD make his face shine upon thee, and be gracious unto thee:

Num 6:26 The LORD lift up his countenance upon thee, and give thee peace.

Benediction - Close to the teaching on the "Knowledge of God"

As a student, always watch how the teacher handles situations and try to learn from the lessons.

Dr was presented with a certificate by Mayor Fishbach.

A man is a man and as such gets blessed when people who he loves appreciates him.

Much of LCM's inauguration ceremony he can't remember much from. He remembers more from the rehearsals.

Dr had his lines on a TV screen. He wanted to make sure that he didn't forget them and ruin a historic and very significant event. The event was so important, the emotions were flying. There was too much to think about without having to remember lines. He wanted the Word to be accurate.

30 minutes after the ceremony had ended, LCM was back at work trying to figure out what to share that night at the "From birth to Presidency" teaching. He had to teach one hour on his life.

Dr was always aware of the situations that they were in. Never overspent time. He always paid attention not to stay too long.

Incident of accident (car wreck) at LEAD. Send out Ambassador One right away with help for our people. Help our kids! Dr's advice established the trustees thoughts. They had been in a meeting and were deliberating whether they should send out Ambassador One. When Dr called in from a field trip, they mentioned it to him and he immediately said "Yes".

"Reaching the World with the Word - Go tell !" - Theme for the ROA at Dr's suggestion. The trustees had been sitting around talking about the ROA theme. When Dr called they let him know their ideas. He said "I have a theme for you, what about this one?"

The bell at the Way College of Emporia to bless the Alumni of the original college. Over the years, only a few of them ever visited and so one day Dr saw the bell and asked, "what's that doing to help us move the Word?". "Nothing" was the answer and so the next day the bell was gone.

LCM worked on the new Way Corps video "Let my life tell the story". They tested a rough copy on a few people. Dr. as soon as he saw it asked how come George Jess wasn't in it? They redid the video and included him in it the next time. Dr. - always thinking about people.

Dr gave LCM a history book of New Knoxville to read. Definitely a noteworthy event!

There's more to making a decision than the positive side. You have to think all the way through. Is anyone going to be affected deleteriously by this?

No one likes to be wrong. What do you do with your mind?

Incident of receiving a letter regarding the terminology used on SNS - complaint letter. Dr said that there was a lot of heart and logic in the letter and that everyone should take note of it and learn from it.

When confronted - setle your brain down and think! Canadian Corps incident. LCM was so excited about the demonstration marches in Canada almost to the forgetting of the Word. Dr reprooved him.

Basic standard time was set up for SNS teachings. LCM had taught for two hours straight one night and Dr went backstage to reproove him. Too long for people to sit through. Too long for a SNS tape. New standard was everyone had 45 minutes. LCM had one hour.

Believe that the adversary can't snoop into top level meetings. Otherwise how could any meeting take place. Planning?

Dr gets ill. He continues to work his mind. Dr demanded his mind to function. Kept moving. When you are capable of helping people, help people.

Uncle Harry day was changed in name to "Burn the Chaff" day. Dr was concerned that over the years, as more of our ministry's leadership and founders, trustees etc, died, that the tendency would be to recognize them with a special day like Uncle Harry day. Within a generation, you would end up with nothing more that a mirror image of the RC days for saints etc. No heart, just bondage and religious observation of the day.

Dr teaches at ROA even though he was sick.

LCM didn't begin every night by teaching at he ROA. Dr weened him with 2 nights of the ROA.

Incident of the Federal judge that took the class. Dr recommended that he be put on mainstage at the ROA to speak to the audience. Dr didn't think that he deserved to be put on stage as he had little or no humility. But Dr felt that it would be a major feather in the cap to have a man of such stature in our ministry. Dr was always thinking of the furtherance of the ministry and consequently the Word.

Dr was sensitive to the needs of the audience. Told LCM to go out and add humor to the night. It was too stiff.

LCM asked Dr for permission to mention Dr's illness (his eye). Dr said, "If it's on your heart to mention it, then go ahead and mention it, it's honest".

Dr was very vulnerable regarding his eye and the fact that he might have to be operated on. He never thought that he'd ever have surgery in his whole life. "Yeah, But it's my eye son!". "I've never had a headache in my whole life, never taken an aspirin in my life and now all this happens to me".

What went through Dr's mind was the standard in the old testament that a priest would was maimed or deformed could no longer offer sacrifice to God.

Dr launches " High Country Caravan" Therapeutic videos.

Location - Campfire area of Way Woods. ( Perhaps one of the most meaningful places on grounds where decisions have been made for God)

Jan 1984 period approx.

High Country Caravan, 13 productions. Dr put his whole heart into them. All of Dr's heart, prowess, experience etc can be seen in those productions.

Sound Out '84. - Grand Ole Opry. Branded, Joyful Noise. Etc.

No such thing as a casual walk through. Incident of rehearsal for night at Grand Ole Opry.

Every statement that LCM made was at the apex of his knowledge in that field when he was at Sound Out. That's not the place you normally want to be at. You want to have far more knowedge about your subject than you are presenting.

Jesus Christ ordained as High Priest on the mount of transfiguration.

No man's vocabulary can match the vocabulary of God's Word.

There is a good side to ego. Use it to move God's Word.

When you are totally prepared, you can make it look impromptu!

Vision building days. Coach Lamb ( Wrestling coach) - thinking of retiring because he could no longer wrestle with his students. Dr asked him " Why Quit, I'm still teaching?"

Dr enjoyed listening to the younger men teach.

Tony Collins - New England Patriots - WOW pin. LCM was unsure as to whether he should go to New England in advance of the ROA to give him a WOW pin. All the local leadership were against it. They thought that it ws being a "Respecter of Persons". After talking it over with Dr. he decided to do it as it would further the ministry.

Don't be ashamed to take advantage of the knowledge of an expert.

Think it through the best that you can. Have all the facts and variables ready. If you are going to deal with a leader. If asked, always tell a leader what you think. Don't fabricate an answer to look good or to kep him happy. If you don't know, Say So! If you do know, Say So!

Where ever you have a series of leaders that pass the buck up the Way Tree, the Word won't move!

So much in leadership is being logical. Just get honest and think!

Learning to take time off!

Dr spent time in Europe and was the most blessed he'd ever been with Europe. Barb and Chris Geer.

Dr. Bullinger's niece was met. Lots of momentos. His ordination hood given by the ArchBishop of Canterbury. Everyone had forgoten Bullinger by now. Will people forget Dr Wierwille?

When you publish a photo of a leader never have a big grin on his face. He'll look stupid in the photo. Incident of the Way Mag cover. Take care of leadership. Show them in the best possible light. Every job is a spiritual job.

Picture (painting) in Auditorium. The painter did for art what the Way Corps do. Attention to detail.

Acts 1:4 And, being assembled together with them, commanded them that they should not depart from Jerusalem, but wait for the promise of the Father, which, saith he, ye have heard of me.

June 6th 1984 - 40 years since D Day - Normandy Beach.

Verville, France is on Omaha Beach in Normandy France. Dr read 5 books while visiting the area. Dr was a prolific reader! June 6th 1984 they were at the trustee meeting on the island with the fog rolling in. Dr shared with them about D Day. The mood was set! LCM remembers that it was an electrifying time.

Devil spirits worked on both sides during the war. Churchill and Roosvelt sold out to Stalin.

"Tesla" from Yugoslavia. Original inventor of radios (not Marconi), also did most of the original work on computers and robots, and the inventor of AC current. He had incredible idiosyncrasies and extreme behaviour.

Dr complimented LCM "What you are doing with the spirit realm is documenting it right out of the Word!"

University of Life - Dr was concerned that if they had too many classes they would lose the accuracy of the Word. He had Walter Cummings re-teach the Corinthians Class. Teach and re-teach so that no error made it into publishing.

There's no way to beat youth except to get older - context of teachers with University of Life.

Dr made a statement that he didn't believe that there was a man alive in the Way Ministry that was capable of handling the Book of Revelation. Prophecy doesn't come clear until the time of it's unveiling - Dr W.

Dr told LCM that he believed that LCM had the finest knowledge of the spirit realm that anyone else on the face of the Earth.

Dr also said of LCM that one of the points that always stuck out in his mind regarding LCM was that LCM never forgot who taught him the Word.

Dr said of Donna, "You married yourself a hell of a woman! Her heart perception with people is second to none"

We have perhaps more knowledge of the spirit field than even the Apostle Paul had. We have the full benefits of the Epistles etc.

Pentecost - June 10th. They arrive home from Trustee meeting and do a 10:30 am fellowship.

Teaching gets in your blood. You use any illustrations that you can use. Eg - Logs on a fire need to stay together if they are going to stay hot. People need to work together and work things out. Not against each other.

The four Fathers of a believer. God, Abraham, Earthly father, Father in the Word. > LCM taught this for Fathers Day. Dr complimented him for his ability to tie things together into the Word and the day that was being celebrated.

The set is too hard. Put more foliage into it. Make it tender so that people can see your heart and tenderness and love. That's CP1!

Corps fellowship - 3000 present. Class taught by LCM.

Dr used to say that the worst thing you can do to him after he teaches is come up to him and ask a bible question.

You don't have great perception if you're caustic and critical and always looking for errors. You have got to act with love.

In terms of teaching the Word - God will work in you as you prepare. Usually when other scriptures come to mind while you are teaching, they won't help you at all. It's normally your mind flipping.

A corps woman died during Corps fellowship in a very devilish circumstance. Dr had to handle the announcement of it in a very delicate way to protect the hearts of those involved. Dr and LCm say that the samll child needed a mother and so made plans for someone to adopt the child. he wanted it set up so that the child could be returned to the father in a few years and he wanted the heart of the mother protected so that her heart would not be hurt.

Dr always complimented LCm when he did a good job. "Nobody ever gets enough love!" - DR W.

Dr speeds up plans for the WOW auditorium. Athletes is moved up in timetable. LCM is happy beacuse he feels that it will probably head off the adversary who is planning on attacking it.

Dr stated to the clergy meeting that he, Dr, would have to go back through the notes from LCM's teaching on spirits and spirit field and really work the notes. LCM had really stirred up his mind on the matter.

Dr was thinking of down the road for the auditorium. The quality of the productions etc. Can you maintain it over time?

At the ROA, Dr and Mrs. W study a small scale model of the new Founders Hall project.

Location - Campfire (Way Woods)

Dr never checked out because he was retired. Incident of Way Corps going home after Corps week but prior to the ROA. Dr heard about it and reprooved everyone in the corps household for the problem. For not helping to put it on. He reminded everyone of the committments that they had made regarding a life time of Christian service. Every corps person needs to plan ahead one year or more so that they can be a part of these events. They need to be able to be a part of ROA and corps fellowship.

Protocol has heart in it. Incident of Mrs. W. making an apple pie to celebrate LCM and Donna moving into the Chalet.

Dr planned live class at Gunnison.

Dr always planned the physical and the admiistrative first. Then once that was out of the way he could get into the teaching side of things. Oxygen needed to be pumped into the desk area to adequately supply the teacher.

Dr had many dreas for Gunnison. Gondola to top of mountain. Riverside restaurant, private homes, recreation area. Utilize what you have!

Think through the slamon run at Gunnison. Each person had a license to catch twenty per day. Get all the corps and staff involved and catch all day long. Hundreds and thousands. All the staff and Corps at different campuses would benefit.

The world teaches that you always need to own things and be in debt. Dr had once said to LCM. :These woods are beautiful. You couldn't enjoy him more if you knew him.

Work coordinators should have the day all planned out before the crew arrives. That way there's no hanging around. People should actually be working by 8 and not 8:30am!

Dr asked LCM had he ever thought about putting together a book of great one liners that he (Dr) had used over the years.

If you are hurt by something, you have to get it off your chest. Incident of Dr being hurt by the attitudes of the community at Emporia and their dislike of the ministry.

You move the Word by speaking the Word. rying doesn't grt you anywhere.

Dr had a vision of a healing arts center in California.

1 Cor 4:15 For though ye have ten thousand instructors in Christ, yet have ye not many fathers: for in Christ Jesus I have begotten you through the gospel.

1 Cor 4:16 Wherefore I beseech you, be ye followers of me.

1 Cor 4:17 For this cause have I sent unto you Timotheus, who is my beloved son, and faithful in the Lord, who shall bring you into remembrance of my ways which be in Christ, as I teach every where in every church.

Timothy will bring you into rmemberance of my ways. Some body has to bring to remembrance the life of a man of God! Someone who is faithful in the Lord.

LCM- If my life can have a fraction of the meaning to someone else, as his was to mine, it will have been worth it.
