The Way moves to restrict Internet information to its followers

In a move that is causing consternation amongst both current and ex Way International followers, the Trustees of The Way International recently moved to restrict Internet access to it's followers by telling them to steer clear of web sites that offer information on The Way International. These instructions were given on a recent video from the Way Trustees.

The main topic of the video (which was played for all Way followers) was concerning the preparations (see Y2K paper from The Way) that the Trustees were requiring all of their followers to make in light of the upcoming Y2K situation.

During the meeting, the subject of the Internet was introduced and Martindale informed all Way followers that he wanted them to stay clear of "anti-Way" web sites.

Martindale has also said that Way followers should not "surf" the Internet, but rather should quickly find what they are looking for and then get off the Internet.

Martindale has not given instruction to all the Way followers on this issue before, but beginning one month ago, the Trustees suddenly and dramatically increased their efforts to keep their followers from surfing the Internet.

This is believed to be an attempt to forestall Way followers discovering certain information pertaining to Martindale's personal conduct.

The Way's secretary treasurer John Reynolds and Martindale's bodyguard John Linder are the only Way followers with Martindale's permission to visit these so called "anti-Way" web sites. All other Way followers are to treat these sites as "marked and avoided".

Reynolds and Linder spend hours each day visiting these sites.

When the TranceNet Threads were functioning, Linder spent large amounts of time each day anonymously posting messages in an attempt to throw certain discussions (that came too close to the truth) off topic.

Many of the reports and articles from these sites (including the now out "in limbo" TranceNet Threads) are then printed and sent on to Rosalie Rivenbark for her inspection and information.

These articles are rarely sent to Martindale as most Way staff, fellow Trustees included, would rather not be the messenger with bad tidings.

This move has alarmed some Way followers still on the inside who are viewing this as an infringement on their right to know the truth.

Some ex Way people are also raising the alarm with concerns that their families (some of who are still be in The Way) are being deceived and that the Trustees are making deliberate efforts to block needed information that would help Way followers make an informed decision on whether or not they should continue their association with The Way International.

There is evidence to suggest however, that this move by the Way Trustees has in fact been counter productive.

Visitors to the WayDale Document Archive web site have increased substantially in the past two weeks and e-mails that we are receiving from  current Way followers indicate that there are still some that are willing to break the Trustees' embargo on "anti-Way" web sites in order to access a broader base of information than that which The Way has approved.
