Craig Martindale - told to pack his bags?

It is being reported that an announcement will be made to the Way followers nationwide on Sunday Sept. 17th 2000 which will outline the steps that the Way board of trustees have reportedly taken concerning former president Martindale.

The sanctions that the TWI board of trustees are reported to have imposed are:

• Craig Martindale has been dropped from TWI's active clergy
  
  
• Craig Martindale has been dropped from active Way Corps
  
  
• Craig Martindale is no longer on staff at TWI (he will seek employment elsewhere)
  
  
• Craig Martindale has been put on "spiritual probation"
  
  
• Craig Martindale will no longer live at TWI HQ (it is reported that Donna and children will remain there for the present time)

Update - 09/18/2000

Numerous communications (e-mail and forum postings) have arrived at WayDale expressing confirmation that this announcement (the substance of which is posted above) was indeed made to Way followers at various meetings across the country. It is not clear whether or not this announcement was made at The Way's regular Sunday Teaching Service in New Knoxville.

Further, it is reported that Mr. Martindale left TWI HQ last week. We are unclear as to whether Donna and children intend to join him when he obtains housing and employment.

As WayDale has not seen or heard an official announcement from TWI, we must take the position that this news is still unconfirmed.
