  1. Englert Leaf Guard advertising shows squirrels aggravating the cleaners by having leaves and nuts. One of them has a hobo/tramp bag and says nuts. I am positive it is our own Mister Ham. He must be having job problems as a math teacher right now. Now Fess up .

  3. Yep, I remember Pillai. In fact, we had an interesting thread going here awhile back, discussing some of the "Orientalism" that he taught. I dunno, though. That thing with the Hindu knowing when he is about to die sounds Waaaaaaaaaaay too much like a Hollywood ending from a 1940's flick. Would have been a good scene for "The Real McCoys". Walter Brennan lays there in bed--- Little Luke and Hassie "fetch" the family Bible---Pepino whips a big red bandana out of his overalls and wipes his tears before blowing his nose----Suddenly, Grandpa McCoy breaks out into a tear jerking rendition of just before the lights go out forever.I'd still like to see a scripture that gives some credibility to this as being "Biblical".

  4. It sounds impossible to NOT like Billy Tom. I have heard stories of people who lost certain functions because of head injuries before. And when these lost functions came out of the "thinking" portions of their brains they lost certain functions because they have habitually used the same neuron pathways for certain tasks. But in the cases I have heard of they could "relearn" these lost functions and get their brain to utilize new pathways for lost tasks. But it wasn't easy for them to do. Whether or not Billy ever learns to read again he seems like a wonderful neighbor. And I think it is fair to say that the Lord didn't say that the Samaritan of parable fame was not described as doing "Jewish" acts, but his actions were counted by the Lord as fulfilling the compassionate and kind commandment. In like manner, I would not call Billy's actions "Christian" but it seems obvious that in this case his actions were laudable just as the Samaritan's whether or not Billy is Christian. And often times I simply refer to Romans where Paul expounds on how those without the scripture can be judged "just" by their actions without the benefit of having received the scriptural commandment. But in another place Paul says that Christians who do wicked things face a more rigorous judgment because they should know better. Or in another that teachers shall reveive that stricter judgment. So for me it is interesting that a man such as Billy may well fair better before the Lord than a corrupt Christian teacher.....hhhmmm.

  5. And one more thing Tzaia, My boy is not in their clutches as things worked out. All it took for me to get that accomplished is to tell my divorce mediator exactly what they've done and said. But right after that particular mediation session was the only time my ex blatantly gave me the classic, "if I could kill you with my eyes it would be now" look. For me it was easy to get that done, but only after I started talking to folks about what happened.

  6. It was a much more complex situation with me when I was a focus of my very abusive splinter group back a few years ago. For me any knee-jerk response on my part would have imediately cost me my family. And it would have allowed them to portray me as the bully too, even in the eyes of the law I suppose. But one local police officer that I met said that from his perspective I was handling it all pretty well. But for me, handling it all pretty well included no kind of reprisal that they would have used against me.

  7. And those "prophets" are false prophets. They are false apostles. There is no new light in TWI - there hasn't been for a long time. Even the light which was purported to be new was stolen from others. Those leaders act all pompous and authoratative. They are nothing. They only lead you because you allow them. They are worse than the average Christian you can meet in a local church, in your community, anywhere. Don't let their false posturing and posing intimidate you. Take back your freedom. this

  8. Doesn't seem it would take too much "discerning of spirits" to detect a fella, with a striking resemblance to Brad Pitt in a black suit, just sauntering onto the back of the trailer..

  9. I was at work at my shop which then was in upstate NY. My coworker and I never listened to the radio, mostly CD's but for some reason we had it on that day for one of the first times... We heard the first sketchy reports of a plane hitting the WTC-in one of those 30 second 'breaks" -It really didnt say much ...I was thinking a little Cessna or something..about 30 minutes later there was another interruption saying another plane had hit the WTC...I remember that the reception was bad, the reports unclear and the announcer near hysterical---WE didnt know what to make of it...I walked to the restaurant next door which had a TV and the entire neighborhood was gathered around the TV's, everyone had an incredibly shocked look, when I caught a glimpse of the TV it looked like a bad horror movie. It took me awhile to adjust---I was in shock...I knew we would be at war, my concerns moved more toward friends and family who were in NY,then especially to my brother in Law who I knew was on a early AM flight from Boston to NY--I was very concerned about him -later I found out he saw the attack from the air and wasnt in one of those planes... shut my shop down and went home (for a week), Lots of things changed that day

  10. I was at work, and my coworker, who had a radio at his desk, told me something weird happened and there was an accidental plane crash in NYC. It was bad but didn't sound like terrorism. Then when the second plane hit, and the reports of the plane that hit the Pentagon and the one in Pennsylvania came in, everyone spent the rest of the day in shock. Actually the shock lasted for a few days at least, but it was difficult to work or do other somewhat meaningless things then. A friend of mine had an interview in the WTC that day. She was running late because of an earlier hair appointment, so she was on the subway and managed to never make it to the WTC. A friend of hers and acquaintance of mine was less lucky. She survived, but had to spend some time in the hospital with burns and broken bones.

  11. Thank you. I was at The James Cancer Hospital with my mother-in-law, who had a followup appointment there. She was pretty unaware of the magnitude of what had happened. I was disbelieving until I called Mr. Garden at home and found him in tears. WG

  16. In a little neighborhood area near me there is a small collection of shops: a couple of food stores, a wine bar, a pub, a chemist, fruiterers, and quite a number of other shops. It's not a big area, but there are maybe two or three dozen shops. The area is full of very big houses, expensive to buy, but as they are so big, some have been turned into student lodgings and flatlets. An odd sort of mix, really. One of the shops, surprisingly, was a betting shop. It always seemed to me to be somewhat out of place, but it's not a business I know a lot about. As the shopfront had frosted windows and is not the sort of place I frequent, I had no idea how busy or otherwise it might be. A while ago I noticed in the betting shop window a sign - "Charity shop opening here soon." And today when I drove past there are rails of clothing, stepladders, storage boxes, etc, all strewn around in the former betting shop. It seemed so ironic that the get-rich-quick betting shop, that may have taken money from households that could ill afford it, now has its place taken by a charity shop selling clothing and other cheap stuff to perhaps keep those very households going.

  17. When I think of censorship, two things come to mind: 1) The weekly corps meetings that I participated in from 1991-1998 were corps exclusive meetings....and I understand why they set it up that way. But what I found to be troubling......EVERY WEEK when J0e C0ulter called he had these questions: .....J0e: Hello skyrider . How many corps are present? .....Me: 4 .....J0e: And, you are not recording is that correct? .....Me: That is correct. .....J0e: OK....I'll connect you now. .....Me: Thank you. EVERY WEEK........WEEK AFTER WEEK, THIS QUESTION WAS ASKED. 2) In thinking about censorship of speech.....twi did it repeatedly. Twi was oppressive. Twi was elitist. Remember........in the document section, martindale is on record for those homosexual statements like ...."You should be thankful you're not in the Old Testament times, because there are some of us who would gladly execute you." - L. Craig Martindale

  18. If Craig Martindale could have pulled the switch to shut down the internet TEN YEARS AGO.....he would have. Waydale, and now Greasespot, have exposed twi and its splinter groups from pea soup to beer nuts. Do all forms of religion and government want to suppress dissenting information???? <_<

  19. Graphs. . . charts. . . JP2??? The reason I say you take a narrow biblical perspective is because you take one thing Jesus directed we as Christians to do. . . . and extrapolate or to be blunt. . . justify. . . an entire political agenda. You magnify one portion of scripture and interpret it to mean something it doesn't. It doesn't make any sense to me. Why are you saying that it is a grave evil for the government to offer social assistance programs? Because that is not the way Jesus commanded Christians to treat the poor? What does one have to do with the other? The last time I checked we had a secular gov't . . . a Muslim rep. . . atheists. . . gays. . . a Jewish Senator. . . we are not a theocracy. Not a Christian nation. Why then do you call what they do as our reps. . . collectively. . . evil and not just evil but, grave evil? Are they lining people up and shooting them in the streets? Are they ignoring the poor by offering no assistance? No, those who represent we the people in gov't are doing what we as Christians are told to do. It is still the same principle. Romans 2:14&15 They show the work of the law without having the law. . . but it is written on their hearts. It is an innate knowledge of God. . . people value and practice the most basic of tenets. . . compassion and goodness towards others. This reflects what is written on their hearts. Christian's don't have a monopoly on good. It doesn't usurp your responsibility. . . or mine. . . . it doesn't take the burden off from us as Christians to help those who need it. Jesus still commands us. . . in fact. . . He commands us to love our enemy and to give to them as well. Now, if you were to say. . . I don't have to give. . . I pay taxes. . . as a Christian THAT would be wrong. Jesus commanded us to do both. It is surely not an either or proposition. You say it creates a culture of entitlement. . . that is quite a judgment to make on an entire group of people. . . do you know everyone on assistance? Their circumstances? To my ears. . . when I hear that. . . it just sounds like rhetoric. We as a society caring for our needy is not a sin. . . where do all good gifts come from? The earth is the Lords and the fullness thereof. . . who does it all belong to? By not understanding that it all belongs to Him and He sets up the authorities and uses what He will. . . . Do you know who is actually not giving God the glory here? You. God's provision can come from anywhere He pleases. He rained food down from heaven. . . When it is provided, we give Him the glory. . . by calling His provision evil. . . you are missing the mark. But, you are right. . . it isn't working so we as a nation need to be doing more. And. . . I am not trying to convince you of anything. . . . I just think it is an indefensible position to have. . . . along with giving people a hole wide enough for a truck to drive through and speak ill of God. But, I appreciate your time. Take Care.
