  1. Wausau, WI 1975-1976. We went out door - to - door witnessing at night, when it had to be 0 to 20 below. Well, of course, very few people opened their doors that night. One did, ten minutes later, we were in a cop car, going to the police station. Once the police figured out what we were about, they figured we were harmless, let us go, and actually gave us a ride back home. The home in question was the police chief's house, and as his wife was the one who answered the door, I do not believe she was too happy with us.
  2. Absolutely, I'm still here in Texas going on 29 years. I was sent WOW to Huntsville in 1979. I did not really have anything to go back "home" to, so I stuck it out here in Texas. No regrets, things have actually turned out quite well. Funny thing is, before we received our WOW assignments, I had a conversation with God, and said I would go anywhere but TEXAS. Oh, and a couple of female WOW's would be nice. Four guys and Huntsville, TX. (One of the guys was from El Paso, I not sure he was happy about being assigned to Texas). Oh well

  5. Rascal and Potato Good Posts! Those are interesting observations After a while in Way World, I started asking, what happened to GOD? When I first got in, no one knew much bible (even after PFAL), but we certainly thought that GOD loved us. Good things happened to people. With the emphasis on studying the bible, retemories, etc., ( along with other things that have been shared on this website) it seemed to take the life out of the fellowship, and me Please do not mis-understand me, folks who study the bible, I have a lot of respect and admiration for them. As long as they are doing it with GOD in mind, not their egos. Anyway, my two cents
  6. Oldiesman, could you please reply to Goey's posts # 283 and #297? I for one would like to see how "all" men are sexually predatory in nature. Goey, I hope you do not mind me using your responses, but you articulated your responses much better than I could. If that is an issue, I'll knock it off, and post my own thoughts. Awaiting your reponse oldiesman Thanks
  7. Let's see, I was out: College WOW 73-74 College WOW 74-75 (Of course, back then, some folks had the opinion that college WOW's were only "half" WOW's, as the witnessing commitment was only half the time required of "regular" WOW's. So maybe we can count this as one year?) In-state program 75-76. Regular WOW 79-80 So depending on the math you would like to use, it could be two times, three times, or four times. Or it could be zero times, as I was scared of witnessing - I think I got one person to take the class in all this time. But I think they never took it seriously, so hopefully no "Waybrain" damage. I should have stopped at the end of the second college WOW year. On second thought, I should have never done the first year.
