  3. Shellon, It seems to me, in reading your story, that the choices made for you weren't the best, but the ones you have made on your own have strengthened you. We all walk this earth making decisions, and the influences of other people may help or hinder us. I can see that you have grown to understand your right to make your own decisions, and they always will be the best for you, and no one can judge you on them. Keep on truckin', girl, and I am positive you will be a winner! You inspire me.
  4. Wasn't there, but did go to Altamont, Woodstock west, in CA in December. Didn't see the Rolling Stones, or the murder, but did hear some good tunes by the Jefferson Airplane. It was the break in the pfal class that we were taking for the first time, and we got stoned on LSD. Very interesting.
  5. They are all still in the Nashville area.
  6. Happy Happy to you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Hope it is a great one! Priscilla

  9. Thanks all for your sweet wishes. I did have an awesome birthday, we got rain, which is what I wanted as a present. Tracy
  10. We didn't get much snow here in Knoxville, just flurries! I really wanted snow! Oh well, I had the bread and milk anyway...lol
  11. Happy Birthday dear friend! Dance the day and nite away!!
  12. One thing you all have to remember is that the Dow is only 30 stocks. There is so much more to investing than that. You have to decide your risk tolerance, and indeed, if you really want to buy individual stocks or mutual funds. Also, think about the future, investing for the long run. Aquilla has been investing for us since "82, and we have done very well. Last year we beat the market, because he spends a lot of time on research, and does not panic when things look down. Also, he does put his trust in God, and also pays attention to his own gut(and mine)when decisions need to be made. I guess what I am saying is a day, a week, or a month does not a market make! Do your research, and trust your own self, knowing that God is our sufficiency. That is our philosophy.
  13. Our first cat was named Magnolia Thunder ***** after an ice cream store of the same name in San Francisco. We called him Thunder, because even as a kitten he thundered around the house. We also had a black Lab called Shadow Underfoot, because that's what he did, shadow you and get under your feet! Then we had Ploom who was a Maine Coon. She was named for a puppet on an old TV show called Monte Carlo, she liked to run across the top of the sofa like the puppet did. Now we have Saucy, who is! She is a very sweet long haired diluted Tortishell (sp) kitty who weighs 13#'s. She sleeps with us, and loves to give kisses. Actually, that is why I rescued her at the pound. I picked her up and she started licking my cheek, she had me at first lick!
  14. Actually, the young man who died was Garry Donhoff. He was a good friend of mine, and a sweet , honest believer. He got in the word in Mill Valley with Jim Doop. Garry's life did bless many people, and it was a sad day when he was killed. A few of us from Mill Valley, along with D*l D*ncan met his parents at the airport when they came back from Ohio with his ashes. What a sad time. I believe it was 1975, but my memory is a bit shakey on dates. Anyway, just wanted to clear that up.
  15. Well, I have waited a long time to respond to this post. I have been in my marriage for 38 years. Notice I didn't say 38 wonderful years. I do have a wonderful spouse, and I love him beyond reason, but wonderful is not always what can happen every day. We have been through good times, bad times, and wonderful times. We have been through life together! He is 17 years older than I am, and at some point this will be a challenge to overcome. But I am so willing to live through any thing that may come up because he is my love. He makes me laugh, he makes me feel like the most important person in the world! Also, we both have an abiding love, not only for each other, but also for our God. We always look to the greatness of the promises of God to get us through all things, and He always does. I am so blessed to be married to my "best friend", and trust that this will continue for another 38 years! Yes, I do believe it is possible to be in a relationship where you are loved, and it is my prayer that everyone can have what I have! Work hard at what you have, and know that it is possible to have a great relationship!
  16. I live in Knoxville. There are many wonderful places to live here, and it's not real expensive. We live on the west side of town, about 20 min from the airport. I believe this is the best area to live because it is close to a lot and you don't have the city and UT traffic to deal with. If you need specifics or some one to help with the area pm me and I will be glad to lend a hand. And, yes, it is a wonderful place to be!
  17. Hey Mark! Good to hear from you! Your site is awesome. Ted and I are well, and enjoying retirement. The reason I didn't put this in the prayer room was because I wanted to know if we could pray for rain! Now I know we can, so that is what i am doing. Thanks for your insight, and take care. Tracy

    San Francisco!

Also Belle, a drive across the Golden Gate Bridge to Muir Woods is awesome. The redwoods are so impressive. When it rains the perfume from them is like no other. Mill Valley is also a very quaint town, with a square as the center. Try some Pete's coffee there, and maybe a drive up to Mt. Tamalpais. Any way, enjoy your time, and let us know what you did! some pics would be nice, as I am getting nostalgic for the area!
  19. Thanks one and all for encouragement and prayers. ((((((((Rascal)))))))))))))), my prayers are with you and your animals as well. We did have 1 1/2" on Saturday night, that helped some. I am so glad we can Pray for Rain!!!! With Love, Priscilla

    San Francisco!

A real neat thing is to take the ferry to Sausalito. There are lots of neat shops there, and the view to SF is great! I loved the wine country, but the Russian River area is neat, and closer. Korbel Winery is there, my favorite Champagne. There are also some good small wineries in the Forestville area. Some have retaurants, too. It has been 10 yrs. since I lived there, but the area is a treat. Be sure to pack sweaters, etc. can be cold and foggy there. BTW, the winding street is Lombard. Have fun, and ask locals where to go, they always know the best restaurants, etc
  21. Thanks all for your responses. I know God is good and desires the best for us, I guess I just needed to hear all your wise imput!
