true-though I remember a lot of what I saw 45 years ago better than what I saw last week.

The Dick Van Dyke Show But the ottoman tripping wasn't according to the year. Carl Reiner intended to mix the trip, non- trip week to week, thinking everyone would always be curious. he said he got tired of it after awhile, and they kind of forgot about it. It just seems like the tripping was early, and the side stepping was later. But even in the later episodes you can find an occasional trip.

I lived in St Marys for a year in '85. I knew some artists in way publications, which Rosie was running at the time. I was told that you had to sign in and out at restroom need. One could hardly call them breaks. That's all I knew about her-but it was enough to kill any ideas I may have had about working there.

This made me curious about the many people who were ordained back in the day. I'm wondering how many continue to embrace the Reverend title, even if they're long gone from the way. Would it even be recognized anywhere else ? There are probably as many answers as there are people, but I'm wondering if there are concrete rules in the Reverend World.

I've been trying to stay with this, but am almost as bored as the 30th time through the intermediate class. I don't know where you find the energy or passion after all this time, but have at it.

Speaking of excellor sessions-which I hated more than just about anything, and ran a lot of them-which was ridiculous since I never believed it was God talking-anyway... I was leading a session-this was when they decided to combine foundational and intermediate-a big mistake imo, as you took people who barely made it through session 12, then dumped intermediate on them. Let's just say it made for a lot of tense moments with on the fence people-anyway... I asked a woman to sit and her interpretation included 'help me to change what I can, and to accept that which I cannot change', then the woman next to her shouted "I've got that on my refrigerator !" What could you do but laugh-I was just glad a higher up wasn't there to reprove the way I 'handled' it.

It reminds me of the Ed Wood movie 'Plan 9 from Outer Space', where Criswell challenges us "Can you prove it DIDN'T happen ?" Not that I'm equating or making light of the subject.

I admit I never believed it for a minute. I was a twig leader for years, ran 2 classes, advanced class grad-basically everything but corps, and just walked around with that unbelief about tongues and interpretation. Which is not to say that I didn't try to make int and prophecy as spontaneous as possible. With the amount of way think and Bible study in my head, it became easy to rattle off words of exhortation and comfort. I justified it by hopefully doing it in love and caring about the people in the room, and in that regard, thought the messages WERE edifying, whether God put them there or not. At the time I reasoned that was how God worked in you, and went on running twigs and manifesting year in and out. But I thought then and still think that sit in the way was gobbledy gook-I can't speak to any experiences outside of the way structure.

I have one memory of George Jess. I don't recall why I was at HQ, but found myself packing books to be shipped in the OSC building. I don't remember the book-maybe JC Our Passover-and I don't know why he was there, but George Jess was packing books in boxes. I only recall the evening, because I was fascinated with how into it he was, working hard, attention to detail, etc, and looking as if he was enjoying himself the entire time. I was impressed. I just don't know what either he or I were doing there.

For what it's worth-I knew I was a tool and a suck up , even as I willingly sat through that thing over 40 times. I stopped buying into the 'every time you hear the class it gets better' line about a dozen times in. I knew I was there to laugh at the jokes, talk 'the word' with the new students, and be a model wayfer. It all kind of came clear one evening in CT, with the limb leader visiting. He paced in the back, guffawed when "as far as I know, he hasn't cracked up yet...in the automobile"., gathered the grads together after class to ream us out for all the various crimes we committed during the evening. Yet I soldiered on for another 10 years, whether I was 'undersheperding' someone, running the class(which I did twice-why and how is a mystery), or just sitting like a lump for grad support. The expectations were there-the commitment, the code of conduct, the little ways that were meant to communicate the greatness of the greatness of it all. I forgot the point I was making. But I am glad I'm out of that zoo.

Before I even took the class, and should have run when the running was easy, I brought a college friend to twig. The leader started us off with 'Heads, Shoulders, Knees , and Toes'. Of course my friend said WTF ? I was embarrassed, and wondered how this leader couldn't even realize that might not be the best way to interest grown men in this thing. As time went on, I became all too aware how some wayfers had a real disconnect with reality.

For sure it applies to some people from both sides, who just have to shout their views from the rooftops, or through the net. I'm trying to be very diplomatic here, but from where I sit, the venom, hate, lies, and extreme screaming seems to be largely from one camp. I'll leave it up to the reader to decide which camp. I know wherever one sits-it's the others that are doing it.

I have fb friends with extreme positions on both sides. A couple on one side post a lot of stuff. I guess it stands to reason that most of my fb friends from the way days tend to the other extreme. I was getting a lot of stuff from that camp, equating their position as God's position, which gets old after awhile. I'm not going to unfried someone I disagree with, so I just clicked on the option that prevents their posts from showing up. If I'm curious what they're up to, I'll look them up-in the meantime I'm not barraged by the stuff all day.

The plant will be fine with all that manure under it.
