  1. DontWorryBeHappy,

hi.  I recently saw a post that you wrote that referenced Miller Harrison and Stephen Harrison, and I was really hoping you had more information or be willing to expand.  I am an extended family member of Miller Harrison (and Stephen Harrison), though admittedly I do not speak to them often (Stephen not at all).  I have known NOTHING of The Way International except a couple family "jokes" about Stephen having joined a cult at some point and doesn't talk to family anymore.  I have always felt something was strange about Miller, as well as his son Sherwood.  I have seen other names that are familiar within the message board, such as David Turk and the Rivenbarks, though I only know who they are in the New Bern community and have never heard of TWI or anything remotely associated with it.

To be honest, I am just learning about how my family may have been involved and no one will talk to me about it.  Are you at all willing to share what the deal is with New Bern, and if you know anything about the Harrison family's involvement in TWI?  I have no ill intent whatsoever - I am just very curious and feel it is important to my own personal knowledge to figure out some of these secrets to understand what the hell is and has been going on with these family members.

Thank you for your time, and if there's a way to private message me back that would be great - otherwise it's fine on the forum.

Sorry about that. My inbox might be full. Katherine was definitely involved but not nearly as much as Miller. Miller was Rivenbark's "sponsor grad" when she first took piffle at a PFAL Family Camp at Billy Graham's Christmount Retreat in Black Mountain, NC, in August of 1974. I was the Assistant Class Coordinator and on the Pilot Council for that family camp. That's where I first met them both. I never met his girls.

Thanks again for your response.  I wonder if Miller had other family like Hildred or H.B. involved, or if he and Katherine were the first and then brought their kids in.  Also, I wonder if they "left" when Stephen did or if maybe they've secretly stayed involved. I think I'm mostly just shocked that I had no idea about any of this, and now so many things make sense (and at same time, more confusing haha).

Stephen was the first to get involved. Rivenbark was his HS English teacher. He then got his parents involved.
