Hey Thank you George. I was thinking about putting it in the Open Forum, but I wasn't sure. I guess I'll just wait a couple days then do that. I just can't believe how much music is probably out there that we never heard of because we didn't have the internet years ago. I think it's especially weird that people in the UK or Netherlands yet, would perform a real twangie cowboy country song. My mom was an avid country fan, and I used to tell her Ringo Starr knew more than she did about country music, lol. Okay, thank you for the "Okay" to put it in the Open Forum. Like I said I probably will do it in a couple of days if nobody answers here. lol.

You know when you run across that weird part of YouTube? I don't know how, but I ran across this song. I'm not a huge country music fan, but I swear this is one of the prettiest Country music songs I ever heard, and the weird thing is, it's from 3 Polish girls from the Dutch Netherlands. This charted in the UK in 1975, but never in the USA. Have any of you country fans ever heard of this song? I'm really curious! Mississippi by Pussycat

T-Bone That's a great story. I can totally relate to that. I have had to second guess my own laughter and reaction to certain clips because other people have not found it anywhere nearly as funny as me. By the way, I have no doubt that some people may have got delivered at the communion, while your wife and friend found the whole thing hysterically funny. And now I can honestly say that I find nothing wrong with that either, lol. God works on peoples hearts in different ways, but oh man, I could go off on a whole different tangent with that one. thanks for sharing the story T-Bone!

T Bone I came across that newsclip in the same you tube "mix" I saw the religious show one! This is like getting Church giggles, you know. It's awful because you know it's inappropriate which makes it funnier and more awful. Those funny news clips are great. I especially like the ones where the reporter is doing a story on an animal and the animal does something...WELL, like an animal! I swear these put me in a laughing mood when I'm depressed! ON a side note, I sent the religious one to a buddy of mine, and he didn't care for it, because he thought the caller might have been handicapped. I didn't take it like that at all. I told him, nooo, some people are just bad singers and think they really do have talent. Just watch American Idol auditions, lol. :)

Wow. I just now clicked on that link. I bet my own parents were toe tapping to this "Modern Spiritual" back when this originally aired. Wow. Wow. Wow. They really WERE that square on that show. Wow.

DWBH Thank you! If you are who I think you are I have a friend who thinks very highly of you. :) WW!!! Thank you for replying! I agree whole heartily with YOU. Though I had to look up what bifurcation meant. (division, lol) And you wrote 100 times better than what I could have. I absolutely do believe there are consequences for sin. Scripture is quite clear on that. James 4:17 says anybody who knows the good they should do, but doesn't do it is sinning. We are ALL guilty of that! But yes, sinning is putting yourself in danger, and I do believe has consequences either in this world, or the next, or both. The people who take it to the extreme are hard hearted fools. But I have to be careful because I've been there. And still am, in some ways. But yeah, you make a great, great point. As usual.

My post is more doctrinal, but I just can't resist posting. IMHO, just how good, is good enough? What sins did Jesus not cover under the cross? My antenna's go up when I hear this kind of stuff, because I know I'm a no good stinky sinner and I need a savior. Under the old covenant, the law was made to show that we cannot keep it. If I break one law I break them all. There is this talk show lady, June Hunt, who asks people when they call in for advice. "Are you a GENUINE Christian?" She means that if they are still actively sinning in some area, sex, alcohol, drugs, whatever...they can't possibly be born again. Christians twist things to say that of course we are saved by grace, but if we really are saved, we wouldn't be sinning "as much" anymore. Well, I have to call BS on that. People are only fooling themselves. If anybody has a problem with seeing sin in themselves, just ask somebody else. They'll be able to point out what you can't see as clearly as they can. The Holy Spirit is sinless in us, and that's what God sees when He looks at us.

It's also a wise strategy because of false sexual accusations. I recall some reporter, was it from the Washington Post? I'd have to look and I'm too lazy. She CRUCIFIED Mike Pence because of his Billy Graham rule. As I recall she labeled him with some sort of "immature" sexist attitude, and how it hurts women. That was nonsense. Any man in a powerful position has to be careful with false allegations. Especially in today's climate. I am hoping I don't have to defend myself to say that yes I KNOW that sexual abuse really does take place.

Yeah but my own words taint me. I'm a freaking mess. That's what I mean, I need a Savior. That doesn't mean that I still can't help a person or two along my way. I know the people who have helped me, and still do help me, didn't wait until they get their act together to help me. Otherwise I'd be screwed. I wonder if I can say that word without it being edited. We shall see.

Hi GoldStar. I just want to say that I believe that God has yet to work through a perfect person, (not including Jesus, needless to say) Mother Teresa, Billy Graham, Perry Como, (his name just popped into my head lol) may have had better moral characteristics than Abraham, King David, Moses, Apostle Paul, Samson, Solomon, etc. etc. etc. But that doesn't mean that God did not do mighty works in them. And us too, when we let Him. As a believer, the Word says we are declared righteous by placing our faith in Jesus. If we could stand before God on our works alone, we wouldn't need a Savior. Even the squeaky cleans need one. Editing to say I went to the Billy Graham museum last summer, and man, that guy was on fire in his day. You just know that VP must have been burning with envy with that guy. But, I certainly don't want to taint Billy Graham with bringing up Vp.

You know, that's an interesting observation. Let me just say that I've been the recipient of getting a Word from Balaam's donkey (Somebody I have little respect for) a few times at least. I'm sure we all have. Anyway, interesting replies to this thread. I'm editing this to say that sometimes I think He may give a Word to us from somebody we think isn't worthy of hearing His Word from is to humble us too. At least that's what it usually is in my case. Like it's HIS WORD and not the person or personality cult that's important.

Let me clarify what I meant. Every dangerous "cult" has some truth to it. Every dangerous lie has some truth to it. That's part of the art of masterful deception. Otherwise, the devil would not be able to fool anybody, if it were an out and out bold lie.

I'm NO fan of VP, let me make that clear. I don't know if Mikes observation about Jesus and lying is from Wierwille's doctrine (I slept through PFAL) If it is, all I can say is that I'm learning that God can bring forth a word of truth from a donkeys butt, if He wants to make a point. I'm NOT talking about Mike here. Also, no matter how bad a religion is, they all have some truth in them. Otherwise nobody would believe anything.

lol. You guys are fun. :) But Mike, I still do like your answer. I think sometimes we overthink things, and yours seems like a simple, logical explanation.

Rocky! What a fantastic little video on Ravens! I love stuff like this, it not only shows the complexities of the Animal Kingdom, but also it fascinates me that God put on the hearts of certain people to be able to watch and study these creatures from the littlest of insects to the most mighty of beasts. Tactical Deception. That's a new phrase for my vocabulary! Men do seem to be able to revert to the behavior of animals sometimes. And not to knock animals, they have to do it for survival. People seem to do it for power and greed.

Hey WordWolf thanks for the explanation for how the software works. waysider I hear you on that one. But it's whatever works for me. I don't try to push my beliefs on somebody else,though I do discuss them with certain people. I have come a long way from the narrow minded waybrain I once was, as most people here have. But all religions are narrow minded in some ways. God is bigger than any of us give Him credit for. The mainstream orthodox religions are as bad as the people they call cults, in some respects. We all are I suppose.

Yeah word but the Seventh-day Adventist and Jehovah witnesses etc. etc. etc. consider themselves to be the only real Christians too. I can still watch teachings from just about any religion and get something from it if it's accurate. I do not throw the baby out with the bathwater because then I would not listen to anybody. Well, to answer honestly, The Wayfers most likely don't think they are lying. No religion has all the truth. That's what discernment is for. As far as the Trinity, you could ask that of Jehovah Witnesses, Jews, and Muslims, etc. as well. I don't believe you have to believe in the "Trinity" to be saved. I didn't even know what it was when I was "saved." I just believed Jesus was Lord, at some point. Before I ever met the wayfers.
