  1. From TWI's website, this is their stand on healing: "To claim and manifest God's healing, we believe on the positives of His Word, not the negatives of the world. When we become immersed in the Word and start living according to God's promises, we find that He is able to bring us health and peace." You have to be good and "live according to his pomises", nevermind the unconditional love He has for us or the fact that God is merciful and heals us when we least expect or deserve it at times.
  2. We are still required to jump through hoops and to "do good works" according to what TWI considers good works. This is from their website and speaks loud and clear, imo, about how they haven't changed: "To claim and manifest God's healing, we believe on the positives of His Word, not the negatives of the world. When we become immersed in the Word and start living according to God's promises, we find that He is able to bring us health and peace."
  3. We are told to go to The Way's website on the internet, but not to any other sites.
  4. We are still treated like mushrooms and Rosalie is a "prophetess" and a "pastor" and don't you even think about questioning decisions from the BOD.
  5. Pretty soon she's going to have to step down, if for no other reason than because none of us can stand to look at her.
  6. They pass out lemons to make it easier to pucker these days, rascal. They're worried we might unpucker.
  7. Just in case you were wondering, all you 'cop outs' who post here are possessed....according to what I hear in fellowship, anyway.

  9. He wasn't wrong, Oak! He just made bad decisions in his personal life; it doesn't make all the ministry stuff he did wrong. Revelation changes and with new leadership there will be changes. It's the new dynamic church and it will continue to change to meet the needs of the people. There MAY have been SOME people who were treated unjustly, but they probably had it coming in other areas of their lives anyway, so don't cry over them. I can guarantee you that the above justification is very close to what they say and what the kool-aid drinkers believe. It's just sickening. -->
  10. Searcher, I thought you were an ex-TWI(t)! You ask good questions and I have appreciated your posting here. Please come back to visit...unless excathedra exorcizes the place.
  11. Well, I've been following this for a while not wanting to vote or post, but if views is going to become an issue then subtract 1 view for every post or at least every other post for the number of times I've viewed it. And, it looks like a few other people have "viewed" this thread more than once like I did. I had a boss who used to say that she didn't want to hear any complaints without solutions to accompany them. I'm interested to hear how Zixar would run his own website. Sorry, it just gripes my a** when people complain about something that is completely voluntary and FREE. Someone does work hard so we can play with one another and I think that should count for something. If that makes me an SOB, then so be it.
  12. Now I don't know if I posted on the right thread. :(--> Ex, I think you are a prominent poster who would leave a huge hole in the board if you were to leave. (That means no vacations, too.) We all seem to feel disfunctional for being involved with a cult - some more than others. Some get over it, others continue to second guess most everything because of having been taken advantage of. I feel like a fish out of water here most of the time, but I get a lot out of the posts and it helps me to post and get things out of my head here since I don't have anyone else I can talk to. So selfish or not - I post. :D-->
  13. Wow! is right! Thanks for sharing with us. It does sound a lot like TWI, just different terms. Mark & Avoid, Cop-out, and we didn't have a formal term for the fade, but definitely the best way for most people to leave, just not as easy when you're family is entrenched as you mentioned. Searcher, don't let TWI learn about the birdfood terminology or they'll start using it! :D--> Sometimes you have to have thick skin to post on the internet, other times you have to decide to ignore the things that get your blood boiling. That's why I avoid some threads. I just get too peeved and complaining about it isn't going to change anyone's mind. I post on several different boards too, and some are always butterflies and rainbows, others seem to always have a fight going on. You pick what you want to watch - just like tv. No one's forcing anyone to be here. (This is NOT directed at anyone....just to be clear since everyone seems ultra-sensitive today for some reason.) I pretty much like everyone here, but some do irritate me more than others. That's life. It's like that in real life too, but they can see me when I wince and roll my eyes when it's in person. Thank God for the Internet!
  14. Do you think Harry W was in on the scam his slick brother was running or do you think he was collateral damage? Harry was the money behind getting the ministry rolling, but he did some honestly good things too, didn't he? Wasn't it a while before he started spending all his time supporting TWI?
  15. Let TWI speak for themselves. These are quotes from the family class: WHO DO YOU MARRY? Find a believer who really blesses you in the soul category. Someone who loves God and will do His Word. One who thinks like you about the important, deep aspects of life, one who has a commitment to the Word AND THE MINISTRY, someone who is faithful. The man or woman you marry is the one you’ll make countless decisions with. You want someone who will believe God for the right answers, someone you can depend on to believe with you in every situation. You’ll want a spiritual spouse, strong in the Lord, who can back down the adversary and prevail together with you. You unmarried believers, if you choose to get married, marry a believer. That is the Word of the Lord. To do this Word, then you also don’t allow yourself to get emotionally involved with an unbeliever. That is not loving because it sets both of you up for hurt and disappointment. If there is any way that, by containing expenses and living modestly, you can have Mom home with the children, especially in those early formative years, it is worth the effort and any monetary sacrifice you might make. Our heavenly Father gave us His Word, and we learned it in THIS MINISTRY. Let’s REACH OUT TO OTHERS with the Word and let’s teach our children and grandchildren to love God and do His Word WITH THIS WONDERFUL HOUSEHOLD. A woman’s appearance should leave a godly impression and show that God abundantly provides for her. How she looks should represent God and, if married, should reflect the dignity and respect of her husband. Parents should want their children to be Advanced Class graduates. Training our children so they can stand will help them maximize their rewards at the bema. The only way to beat the adversary’s system is to have a better system, and WE HAVE THE BEST SYSTEM, the Word of god LIVING IN THE HOUSEHOLD OF GOD. When two unbelievers are married and one gets born again of God’s spirit they stay in that marriage. If an unbelieving wife wants to live with her unbelieving husband, wonderful and vice versa.
  16. Maybe VP really did hear people say those things about Paul. Look at where he got his education. Maybe this made Paul a man after VP's own heart and so he didn't see those things as a sin or thorn in the flesh, so he got mad at anyone suggesting that his behavior was wrong. The thorn had to be something other than sexually related. I hope this comes across right. It makes sense in my brain.
  17. I haven't heard about any new book either. Maybe the relative just bought the book and it's new to him? I know mine still looks new, but that's from not being used. Remember Craig bragging about someone outside TWI giving a positive review of his book?
  18. I always fake it. I get one ready mentally while we're on our way to fellowship in case I get called on. Same with prophecy.
  19. Lindy, that's horrible! I'm so sorry for you and your parents. They must be miserably confused. Loving their kids, but afraid to confront how uncomfortable the doubts about TWI are in their mind. They must have doubts and confusion. I know some of my family members who have been mistreated like this are, but they work very hard at convincing themselves that they are being selfish and emotional because TWI who taught them the Word and that's who they should be loyal to.
  20. MZ, I completely understand your question and it's one I ask all the time. The question I've started asking is, does this person really love me? If they do, then shouldn't it be unconditional? If they will no longer love me or fully share with me should I leave TWI, then is it real love and is it it then worth fighting for? I don't know. I'm still trying to decide.
  21. Hi Belle, Welcome! Your story does sound all too familiar. Thanks for sharing it with us. I look forward to the rest of it.
  22. Paul is a branch leader in Tampa
  23. I "studied and researched" pretty much how Oakspeark described it: Re-read what was taught and look up the words in the concordance and other study materials, but just to re-read what they taught. I never started doing any real studying until after I found WayDale. Then I found all kinds of errors and was confronted and treated like a big pain when I asked questions about the things I found. I had to quit asking because I was being accused of looking for things to quabble over and my family was afraid I was going to get the whole lot of us M&A.
