What drinks do you like to make at home or when you're out?

I call this Apple Pie - it's good and easy. 2 oz of Spiced Rum, over ice, with about 6 oz. of apple juice. Yum!

And my other fav - Tipsy Swiss Miss - you guessed it - cocoa with a shot of Emmets or Baileys (or any Irish Cream)

Only one recipe for a martini

4 martini glasses - and three good friends

Dry Vermouth (if you use sweet you are commie infiltrator from TWI)

Good vodka - Belvedere or Grey Goose or your pick - but none of the Skyy nonsense

Lemon twist (thin slice of skin of lemon)

Olives or Onioins - I am not religious about either and in fact like both at the same time - Jalapeno or garlic stuffed olives preferred

Shaker and bar strainer

Ice

Prechill glasses with ice for 5 minutes or so - meanwhile spear your olives and/or onions with toothpicks

Pour ice out of glasses and pour a tiny bit of DRY Vermouth into them - just enough so that when you swish the glass around it just coats the inside of the glass - pour the rest out or into the next glass.

Squeeze each lemon twist to get the oil out then rub the rim of each glass with the lemon rind

Put ice in the shaker - about 1/4 full - add Vodka and shake till chilled

Pour into glasses through a bar strainer

Add the tiniest bit of juice from the olive/onion jar - I just take a couple of drops of each out with a toothpick

Add onions/olives - serve with good friends and an expensive cigar

Endymion is Feb 17th and Mardi Gras is Feb 20th this year.

Buttery Nipple:

Fill a shot glass 2/3 full with butterscotch schnaps and 1/3 full of Baileys

tilt the glass when pouring the Baileys and pour it slowly...it will look like a parfait.

Chug it down and then make another one...and another one...and another one

...or if you REALLY want to get a good buzz:

Groucho's homemade Sangria wine:

Chop up (in big pieces)... an apple, pear, peach, and lime...place together in a large pitcher

add a cinnamin stick

pour in 1 bottle of blackberry wine

add 3 shots of orange liquer

add 1/2 bottle of dark rum

mix together and allow to sit in the fridge overnight

pour over ice and drink...

*caution...Do not drink more than 4 glasses if you have just eaten "Groucho's meatloaf"...or you may end up "driving the porcelin bus"
