Song of the moment

The common factor here is Hendrix.

Randy California would have followed him, wherever, if he was of age at the time..

April learned from Hendrix as well..

Hendrix is hard to listen to.. until you find songs like "Mary"..

or even Hey Joe..

This one is as well "comfortable" on the down side of a long, strange, trip..

Yeah, Randy was something like 15 years old when he was kickin' it with Jimmy James and the Blue Flame. Jimmy wanted to take him to England to work on his new project called The Jimi Hendrix Experience. Randy's mother nixed the idea, so, he started a band with his step dad (Ed Cassidy) who was already a very famous, in-demand, jazz drummer in NYC at the time. I think the two of them created a much larger catalog of timeless music than he ever would have with Hendrix.

Yeah.. so did April.

April broke out of music and did art..

Ha! It's been a long strange trip..

She (?) graduated in what.. 1961..

probably ingested better drugs than I've ever seen..

:biglaugh:

The Sowers need to adopt her anthem here..

so lord, come into my heart, and make a better sower out of me..

I try to be a better sower every day..

Someone here would try and waste your time

And someone here would try and lead you blind

Life seems to be wandering 'round and 'round

Searching for the "that" which can't be found

It's you, you, you

It's me, me, me

....It's all the same

More than nixed the idea. She married the drum player, did she not?

April's s work still haunts me, in a good way..

she had to be good people, so to speak, didn't she?

Most of the Psychedelia.. came back with horns and rhythm sections and such..

but it still sounded remotely like the soul music it did not precede.

Kinda like Spirit..

I don't know if there was any real progressive rock, other than becoming aware of itself..

They still can't do any better than Cass Elliot..

Jesus.. she was the lsd queen..

brought the little bottle onto the island, for the group to share..

in one video they gave her the distinction of being the magic mushroom girl..

what the hell happened..

Consciously, every (lucid) dream I have had lately has shown that I'm in a losing battle..
