Until last night I dont think that I ever expected to hear Jimi Hendrix played on a solo cello...or see a classical string quartet devote an entire show to Hendrix and John Coltrane---but I did ...and it was good!

It is Shrove Tuesday, last chance for all pious Christians to indulge in rich foods and base pleasures before bidding Carne vale—farewell to the flesh.

I wont'd be in N'awlins but I'll be cooking up some Jambalaya and cranking some Zydeco and Cajun tunes today.

I've been hearing a lot of George Harrison lately on Deep Tracks (XM/Sirius).

I don't think I ever realized before what a talented guy he was.

The Down To Earth beatle. I don't have hbo, but I'm trying to find Martin Scorese's documentary, George Harrison Living In The Material World It looks real interesting.

George had a way of putting things together in simple words and rhyming them and turning them into very meaningful and beautiful lyrics didn't he?.
