What is your Personality Type?

I found something fun the other day and thought some Grease Spotters might get into it too. It's a website to determine your personality type. It's a system that describes nine personality types and according to Wikipedia is used in many mainstream publications on the subject and is being applied in a variety of applications, including business, psychology, psychotherapy, organizational development, career coaching, the arts, health care, parenting, education and spiritual growth.

When I took the online test [it's the first link I've pasted below] – I scored highest as a thinker and second as a peacemaker. Interesting enough, I scored lowest as a leader – I'm sure I'm gonna hear about that in my next Corps evaluation :biglaugh: . I imagine we've got a few overachievers on Grease Spot who will claim they operate all nine all the time. :biglaugh:

Artist followed by generalist.

My highest was "8", leader and next highest was "5", thinker.

The rest were negative numbers.

Does this thing really mean anything?

Yes - since you're a leader, you should take over this thread. I for one, don't have a problem with that [must be the peacemaker kicking in].

I clicked on the link and started the test. But on about question #3 it became obvious to me it was a feeley meeley "test" that meant nothing. Not to say these kinds of things aren't fun... they just have no validity.

Hmmmm...well, maybe you're a number 6, skeptic. :biglaugh:

I scored highest on 'artist', then' thinker'. Lowest on 'reformer', which based on how I read the questions, means I'm not concerned in telling people how to run their lives, which is true. I'm not sure I equate a 'reformer' with being a leader, though it's a fair description of what passed for a 'leader' in the way.

I took the test. It was fun.

I'm an artist, leader, enthusiast, helper. Hmm, does this mean I'm schizophrenic?

Well, you do have a lot of personality  ....but now, if people are referring to you as having a lot of personalties - yeah, I'd be a little concerned if I were you. :biglaugh:

What I thought was interesting is, the questionaire at the end of the test asked if you know your Myer's Briggs type. I am very familiar with that test, as I have used it in many applications over the years.

I am an ENFP. I've taken the Myers Briggs many time over the years, starting in about 1983. I had to take it for a job thingty about a year ago. It was my 5th time. I am solidly an ENFP, from 1983 til now. As far as these personality type tests go, I know by personal experience, it's the most consistent and heavily relied upon personality test, in business and psycological applications. The thing is, it usually has to be administered by a professional, and is much more detailed than the normal business type thing, bosses use to evaluate sales personel, etc.

So if you really want to know where you stand, or get a personal evaluation, the Myers Briggs is used in many different arenas, from jobs to psychology. Ok, that's my plug, back to our regularly scheduled program.....
