so they don't teach them practical management nowadays. Or ethics. Or greek, hebrew, or aramaic. Or church history. What about figures of speech?

They still have flossing 101 I understand..

So what's the purpose here?

they apparently are not looking for the most bright, most capable..

So what's the purpose here?

To train brilliant ministers of the Lord Jesus Christ, equipped with energized ministries serving in the one true household of God as they mend the saint's nets according to the Word of God. :biglaugh:

Now, when you strip away all the cliches and way speak, it serves no purpose! All they do is administrate the way international's paper work, mouthpiece the cliches the directors need spewed, keep an eye on the believers, collect the money, and do exactly what Rosalie and Donna want accomplished. Oh, and most importantly network market the way international and peddle it's goods.

Currently?

2 of vpw's original goals still apply:

A) to charge the participants for more than the cost of expenses, turning a profit

B) to supply people to conform to twi and enforce conformity to twi

(not that this one was successful with ALL students. but it was A goal and worked SOME of the time)

In addition, there's currently a third reason in effect vpw didn't need:

C) to help defray the costs of maintaining underutilized grounds

And a 4th reason:

D) to give the APPEARANCE, the FACADE, of twi actually doing something other than paper-shuffling

and financing cushy lifestyles for the top cadre, the Lords Over God's Heritage.

Well, they have made a few changes in the last few years.. While they don't teach practical management (only how to Lord over people with their pride), and they don't teach hebrew, or Greek (They have a class but it isn't accurate), they have added the history of the church and old testament history, and even a comparative religions "class".. But let's get real.. None of those additions actually are accurate either, much like the Greek and the rest of their doctrine. The "teachers" haven't a clue while the "students" are led astray into thinking they actually were being trained.. Accurate classes wouldn't be taught by someone trying to brainwash the students, while putting their "spin" on history..

Meanwhile, the whole purpose lies in bringing up prideful little Roslie arse ki$$ wannabees ready to put down anyone who has a real brain willing to speak up. But, you guys knew that.

Thanks for the update. Dollar to a dime those are rehashed classes that have been "corrected" through president's and way publications.

Arriving at Rome City campus I remember seeing a poster on the wall

"The world out

The Word in "

The unspoken purpose is the real aim of corps training - indoctrination!

Of course, this is not what I expected when I went in...

everything that had brought me to the point of crossing the campus threshold was geared to gaining my absolute trust of TWI....critical thinking - everything you knew about thinking, analyzing, decision making - - would gradually slough off - - this would allow them more or less a free rein of my blind obedience...

.as I said before - this is not what I expected...and to be honest, it was not what I thought my way corps training was about ...until I came to Grease Spot years ago and started comparing notes.

thank God I am free of that deluded and manipulative crazy-town !

T-Bone, I was never in the Corps, but I am happy that many of us, have left TWI, far behind us.

GM, nuts!!  I think you are probably right; I wondered why TWI still had a WC.  It never dawned on me, that they did it for legal reasons.  Thanks for the information.

Tom, I can't remember if you were ever in the Corps, or not.  If it's not too personal, would you tell us if you were or not??  I know decades ago, a lot of talented, and intelligent people, joined the WC.  I really believe TWI squandered a lot of talent, and brains, by having such a poorly designed Leadership Training Program- the WC.  You seem to me, to have a brain, and a good sense of humor.  I think you mentioned that you are studying to be a Minister?  Please forgive me, if I am mixing you up with someone else.

Grace, no I never went Way Corps or WOW Ambassador, but did (to my regret) go NC Minuteman in 1976. I had trouble finding a job and went home after 7 weeks.Did meet a sweet girl from Sanford(PF) but she was engaged to her twig leader. She was a student at ECU majoring in business. She had a twin sister (L!nd@)who was living in Charlotte(?). No, I never wanted to be ordained, that was not my calling.Besides my father was an ordained Lutheran pastor(ELCA) and I didn't have the patience to counsel people.

Thomas, you seem like a very nice man to me.  Thanks for the information.  I went WOW, completed the year, and hated it!  Some people may have loved their WOW year, but mine was terrible.  I had a hard time keeping a job, and nearly starved to death.  Seriously. I lost 35 lbs that year.  I was smart enough not to do it a second time.  Once was more than enough for me!

Thinking about this thread today I did a weird juxtaposition of select events that either I have experienced or someone else - while in the corps…instead of these events happening behind closed doors (of a private campus or motor coach) I imagined them being broadcast on national TV – offering them up as inspirational programming like the other televangelists do…the imaginary production notes listed below are geared to address the general public rather than a select group – and is aired to provide inspirational and informative teachings to bless people with “The Word”….I’ll have to politely ask you to suspend your disbelief over this ever getting past the censors.

Select production notes for episode # 666,000 of The Way International’s Light:

TWI-Light: episode title is How Way Corps Leaders are Trained. The set will be the lobby of a campus (location to be announced) wierwille is to be dressed in his pajamas as well as the entire studio audience. Behind his chair and coffee table upon which is an ash tray and a cup of Drambuie, there is a huge screen for projecting a porn video of women having sex with a dog…engineers be ready to alternate the feed going out to television sets between the porn video and the studio cameras pointed at wierwille and studio audience – to show the nonchalance of wierwille and the shock, nervousness, disgust  and awkwardness of the studio audience. ..Remember to zoom in on any individuals who appear to be getting used to the whole experience so as to show wierwille’s ability to teach…Remember to have verses and logic that wierwille quotes run along bottom of screen to justify a spiritual leader showing a porn video to students in the way corps leadership training program.

== == == ==

Select production notes for episode # 666,000 point 6 of The Way International’s Light:

TWI-Light: episode title is How Way Corps Leaders are Healed. The set will be a cutaway section of a motor coach to allow room for cameras, crew, lighting and boom mics. Props and setup should already have everything in place – alcoholic beverages and roofies hidden where wierwille can easily access them…intro must have a remote shot from previous day panning wierwille’s desk and then zooming in on a woman’s From Birth to The Way Corps paper, make sure her name on the paper  is readable (way corps woman to be announced) - - have a hand slowly turning the pages forward and then stop at a highlighted area (sexual victimization or confession of sexual activity to be announced)…during the healing session remember to have verses and logic that wierwille quotes at the beginning of the session run along the bottom of the screen to justify a spiritual leader using alcohol and a date-rape drug to sexual molest / heal women in the way corps leadership training program.

== == ==

Can anyone provide passages from the Bible that would justify the above as a means of teaching or healing someone enrolled in a program for Christian leadership?

Can anyone provide passages from the Bible that would justify the above in the eyes of the general public?

Imagine for a moment, if you had never been involved with The Way International and something like this did air on national TV. What would your reaction be then?

T-Bone, I think I would probably vomit.  How sad that VPW really did this S--t!  I think DWBH was right; the man really was a sick puppy.

Probably wouldn't find production capital (or anywhere that would be willing to broadcast it) so easily these days... might have to wait a few months to determine the extent of fade in the Weinstein uproar.

The topic question asked what was the purpose of The Way Corps training? I was in the 2nd Corps. I'll venture this. The purpose was to indoctrinate us with Wierwille's ideology (propaganda) and have us spread it "over the world."  We were unthinking puppets. There's enough on this website to fill a planet with information about how this was done. Besides the few that have spoke up here, I would like to see more "Corps trained" people speak out about the sham that Wierwille perpetrated. Hello?
