Cat Woman

One day this writer, while at one of the campuses at an event open to the public, in the cafeteria line with a couple of invited friends, a woman in a full-body skin-tight leopard-skin body suit (ala Cat Woman) came in by herself through the inside of the cafeteria and served herself in plain view of everyone there (100+). No one blinked an eye or said a word; but this writer made a mental note that her attire was oddly out of place for a Bible college.  A couple of minutes later, advancing through the cafeteria line, and this writer would most likely never have seen her.

Perhaps she was part of a troupe practicing her part as a devil in an upcoming theater production ala 'Athletes of the Spirit'?  It was during the month of March, so a little early to be dressed for a Halloween costume party.  Perhaps she was a guest whose set of social skills lacked a basic knowledge of how to dress appropriately for social events at a Bible college?  Perhaps she was there being abundantly shared to, to complete an assignment as an escort or a courtesan?  Or a student of the college participating in a private party for the ministry's two highest authorities who were known to be there in a room across the hall not far from the cafeteria?

But the cat woman did not have a collar around her neck attached to a leash, no one accompanied her, she seemed to be there completely of her own free will, and could have easily walked out the door and left.

This writer thought, we're not in Kansas anymore Toto...

But in the movie, The Wizard of Oz did mention Emporia, didn't he...?

Welcome, GoldStar.  Full marks for finding us.

As you've already noticed, we have the occasional bunfight around here.  But at least, we're at liberty to disagree :eusa_clap:  Have fun!

GoldStar, welcome to the GreaseSpot Cafe.  Many times I wonder - was I in Kansas, Toto?  LOL.

With this writer having mutual friend connections to the head "Cat Woman" - the tall one with all of the funky amoeba patterns on the front, there was much more than the appearance that contrasted with the Bible college image.

Have a cup and a roll on the house LOL.

Cat Woman wasn't Rosie the riverter?

Hi there Goldstar. I happen to know exactly who that so-called Cat Woman was, but decline to name her here. But yes, she starred in that awful "dance" production that LCM was in, titled: Athletes of the Spirit. A totally bogus interpretation of Ephesians 6.

So welcome to GSC. There's plenty of TWI history to be found here. If you have questions about years 1970 - 1987, I'd be happy to help. You can check my profile here at GSC for more on that.

Cheers,

Penworks, a.k.a. Charlene Lamy (Bishop) Edge

Hi Penworks,

That is very interesting that you would say that, it would be very interesting to be able to verify that we are talking about the same Cat Woman (there are many of them here where I live, and I have even seen more than one publicly at Woman outfits), but I do not have a picture of the Cat Woman in question and my memory is too vague to sketch a reasonable facsimile of her.

Of course if seeing her happened today, it might have been possible to surreptiously snap a quick picture of her with my phone and text it to you, but alas, phone cameras were not around back then.  I received a picture of someone I was dating all the way from across the the other side of the world (Rome) a few years ago, my the wonders of technology.  She was not a Cat Woman, she was more of a Dog Woman, and our dating ended abruptly when she began to bark and bite.

I was invited to a live presentation of that "awful dance production" as you call it, if I recall correctly, it may have been the very first public presentation of it, and I even met some of the dancers. I do not remember whether the Cat Woman I saw at the cafeteria was the lead dancer in the dance production, I don't even remember thinking about that at the time. But that dance production never reached Broadway and has been out of production for a long time.  But I believe the Broadway musical Cats did have a very long run. I believe there were Cat Women in that production also.

I don't remember the dance production in excruciating detail since the memory of it has faded in my mind, although I do remember someone telling me that LCM had stated that that particular dance production idea was stolen from him (by spirits) and used as the foundation for parts of the movie "Stayin' Alive" with JT.

And thank you for your welcome, I did read some of your posts here before signing up, and you seem to be one of the good-willed, well-reasoned people here, I hope that we can have good intellectual conversations here.

I am familiar with some TWI history because over a period of time, I was invited to numerous events and activities and teachings where I saw many interesting things, including Cat Woman.  But I never saw Bat Man or Robin. But coincidentally, I am actually watching Wonder Woman (the old TV series) on TV right now.  Linda Carter had such natural beauty.  I also fed a couple of feral cats (one female, black) that come around to my place frequently, but only because I feed them occasionally.  I learn so much by observing their behavior, both in their interactions with me, and with each other.

I have made a couple of good real cat friends in the past, by feeding them and winning their affection even though at first they were both very skittish (or kittish - lol), but they eventually ended up letting me pet them, and one would even come to my front door and knock on it with his head to let me know when he arrived for his meals.

It amazed me that I could make friends with another, wild species.  If only the cat women of this area were as friendly :)

And thank you for you offer to help.  I will take a look at your profile.  Maybe we can compare notes and learn some history from each other.  I enjoy learning. I enjoy watching cats. And I have met some Cat Women, but have never been scratched by one, though some have tried. :)

P.S. ~ did you know that it is not a good idea to publish personal information like your full name on publicly available websites like this one - it's to protect your id - just a suggestion

P.S.S. ~ how can you be sure that the Cat Woman I saw is the same one who starred in the dance production.  Isn't it possible it was another Cat Woman with a similar body suit?  Did the one you refer to have dark hair or light hair?

Hi Chockfull,

Thank you for your welcome...

I also read some of your threads before I signed up here, and considered that you also seemed to be of good-willed and well-reasoned as I felt about Penworks.  I hope we can have intelligent conversations.

I am curious to know if head "Cat Woman" you refer to is either of or both the one that I and Penworks are talking about, can you provide more de-Tails ?

Funky ameoba patterns as a description of leopard skin spots tickled the funny bone in my mind :)

I think you apologized for your mention of the burning "Bush" in a previous comment, but I was unable to reply because I was spanked by a moderator here and told to go sit in a corner with a dunce cap on for a day or two.

I turned the dunce cap upside down and cut a hole in the tip and used it for a megaphone for my latest post, I hope you will read it even though it is long and wordy.

I did not think you did anything wrong by mentioning Bush, my point of view was that by mentioning a well-known political figure in a post, it opened the door to politics.  But you were not chastised for opening the door, but I was for walking through it.

Funny how politics works

By the way, in that same other post, you asked:

What public figure ever supported VPW?

I do remember hearing that he was invited to the inauguration of Ronald Reagan, but who know if that was true.  I do have a vague memory of seeing VPW in a full formal suit with a high top hat like men might have worn to a presidential inaguration 100 years ago, but that memory is faded, don't remember if it was a pcture or video or what

Have you checked the segment of AOS on Youtube?

Wow, I just noticed that this thread has gotten 200 views!

The number of views here often is a matter of how words in a post line up with Google users searches. :anim-smile: they are not always limited to GSC members views.

And welcome back Goldstar

Ok thanks So_Crates, although I do not see an arrow, I do see that the words AOS: Someone Please MSTie This are actually a link and I can see the video, I believe I have seen that video before (or is the memory in my mind of seeing the actual production in person, which I did see?) I will view the video again

Some memories can change over time...

So_Crates, I saw the AOS video again at the link you sent me, thanks

I had seen that video before

I did not see a Cat Woman or a woman dressed as a cat

And the only face I could see was the one of the woman dressed in Red, with black hair, all other faces were covered with costumes

But I could not tell you if the one face I could see belonged to the Cat Woman of the cafeteria, could have been, don't know

A) As far as I know, no public figure of any kind ever stepped forward to endorse vpw in any way, even though he tried to get them to- athletes, judges, etc. Even Hayes Gahagan didn't- and twi got flak for trying to get him elected as state representative in Indiana.   He kept putting them onstage whenever possible in attempts to get their endorsements, however, and gave New England Patriot Tony Collins a WOW pin with no real justification despite never even signing up for the WOW program.

B) It was indeed claimed by vpw that he was invited to Ronald Reagan's inauguration ball.  I'll quote someone who looked into it...

"In 1981, Wierwille obtained an invitation to one of the events of Ronald Reagan's inauguration, and word filtered down through the ministry that Wierwille had access to the president himself. Word had it that Reagan was a "believer", and since the word was used exclusively of Way members, some took this to mean that Reagan was actually a follower of The Way. As evidence, the proponents of this theory would say "Have you ever seen Ronald Reagan going to church?"

In a Jan. 1981 newsletter to Ohio believers, state leader Bob Mirabito wrote: "Dr. Wierwille has personally been invited by President-Elect Ronald Reagan to the Inauguration Ball this January 20th. It is not one of the satellite balls. There will be only 1,000 people in attendance".

A spokesman for Reagan's Inaugural Committee, speaking to the Emporia Gazette, scoffed at reports that Reagan had personally invited Wierwille to anything. "He would not have been invited by President Reagan and ended up in the same computer lists as the 175,000 others" said committee spokesman Bob Billings.

Billings said that there was no ball with only 1,000 people, and that with roughly 43,000 people attending about nine balls, the average attendance was closer to 5,000. Noting that invitations were handed out on request, Billings also said his office had extended an invitation to a man who identified himself as "King of the Gypsies", and claimed to represent a union of practicing Gypsies.

On Feb. 9, 1981, Kansas Senator Bob Dole, future Republican presidential nominee, wrote in answer to an inquiry from Herb Diamond: "I realize that there has been a great deal of concern about the participation of Victor Paul Wierwille, leader of The Way, in the recent Inaugural activities. I want to assure you that Mr. Wierwille's presence was as a private citizen and not an official guest. It seems that the invitation to Mr. Wierwille came as a result of a routine phone request to a congressional office that a V.P. Wierwille attend an Inaugural event. Whoever took the phone message did not recognize the name, and so it was passed on along with other such requests..His presence in Washington in no way represents any kind of official recognition of him or his organization by the Administration.

quoted from The Cult That Snapped by Karl Kahler, p 124-125."

Anyone wanting to know more about twi might do well to read Karl Kahler's book. Kahler's done his homework.

You're right. That "cat woman" may not be the one I'm thinking of.

Also, I've published a book using my real name so stating my real identity here is no big deal to me. My own website, too, is public.

You're right Charlene, sorry I didn't think about that

I guess as an author, you would want to have your name out there

We may never know who the Cat Woman was, would be interesting to know her story (The Cat That Danced?)
