The good news for Texas is that now that cold fronts are passing through with some regularity, the likelihood of an hurricane striking us is very low (until next season). The fronts tend to push storms off to the south and east (not much help for Florida, I'm afraid). The last hurricane to hit Texas in October was Hurricane Jerry in 1989 (Cat 1).

"Twelve" is supposed to dissipate in the middle of the Atlantic, and "Thirteen" is expected to head into Central America. We'll see...

Lisa is headed into Central America.
Martin is headed northeast into the Atlantic.
I suspect that the US is safe for the rest of the year. I'll post again if there are any actual threats.
