Ok, not sure if this is "Da Spot" for this but here goes - I'm always trading website url's with friends, places that have unique things, crazy stuff, the weird, the wacky. It's unbelievable what's on the Web.

I like The Lifesaver's Candystand site. If you go there, check out the Billiards Game. It's a pretty near functional pool game played with your mouse, and can be played with 1 or 2 players, I may be the last one to hear about it, but I thought it was cool so if you haven't, you might want to check it out!

next time you think you feel weird, go to the timecube dot com You'll feel normal immediately.

http://www.themovietimeline.com/

I'm not ready for that-I'm still dizzy when I try to keep track of the continuity of

the Wold Newton Universe.

http://www.pjfarmer.com/woldnewton/Pulp.htm

It starts with a real meteorite landing.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wold_Newton,_...ng_of_Yorkshire

Then a fictional writer had some fun with it.

"The Wold Newton Family is a group of heroic and villainous literary figures that science fiction author Philip José Farmer postulated belonged to the same genetic family. Some of these characters are adventurers, some are detectives, some explorers and scientists, some espionage agents, and some are evil geniuses.

According to Mr. Farmer, the Wold Newton family originated when a radioactive meteor landed in Wold Newton, England, in the year 1795. The radiation caused a genetic mutation in those present, which endowed many of their descendants with extremely high intelligence and strength, as well as an exceptional capacity and drive to perform good, or, as the case may be, evil deeds."

In a literary fiction version of "Six Degrees of Kevin Bacon", hundreds of fictional characters

have been connected as ancestors or descendants of the handful present,

or having interacted with them.

(Starting with the family itself, including Sherlock Holmes, Phileas Fogg, Allan Quaterman, Tarzan,

James Bond....)

You can follow the link for the whole thing.

(I hope this is ok and doesn't get me on the plagiarism thread.)

Nkorho Pan, Africam

This is one of my favorites. Nkorho Pan game preserve. Live web cam. 9 hours ahead of us, so 11:00 am PST is 8:00 pm their time, and mostly you see bats flying at nite. I just watched some animals settling in for the nite, but now it's quiet, except for the bats streaking across periodically. Africam has also added an elephant plains webcam. Elephant Plains, Africam

If you double-click on the webcam view it will enlarge to fill up the screen.

(They also added a commercial you need to watch before the webcam comes up. :( )

Greasy Tech told us about this one a while ago, and it's given me some really nice times. It's peaceful and restful watching the animals just do what they do.

That site must be run by Dr. Bronner's illegitimate son or something... the rantings are "interesting" at best!

(Those of you on staff or in the WC remember who Dr. Bronner was, right?)
