Name that Tune

Dream Academy planned on calling this song "The Morning Lasted All Day." Once they added the chorus, they decided to go with "Life in a Northern Town."

Personally, I thought "Life in Another Time" might have been more appropriate, but the band never asked me what I thought.

Norwegian Wood by huh, I can't quite recall their name.  Boggles, Bottles, no that's not them.  Beatles. Richard, George, James and John.

Correct!  Norwegian Wood, the Beatles.

Beautiful song about a guy who's led on by a girl, and gets back at her by torching her house.

Ok, next song.

"In the days of my youth, I was told what it means to be a man,
Now I've reached that age, I've tried to do all those things the best I can.
No matter how I try, I find my way into the same old jam."

At the party she was kindness in the hard crowd

Consolation for the old wound now forgotten

Yellow tigers crouching in the jungles in her dark eyes

She's just dressing, goodbye windows, tired starlings

And I'll wait in this place, where the sun never shines;

Lie in the dark where the shadows for themselves

[I'll sleep in this place with the lonely crowd ]  I  copied this line down wrong before, so have corrected it

Lie in the dark where the shadows for themselves

Technically, only if the name of the song is in the first line.

I'd be willing to give it to you, but it's really up to Human, since he's the clue-giver.

BTW, welcome to "the game room."  Feel free to join in any open thread.  I've posted a pinned thread on how to play the games.  The basic rules are 1.) winner gives the clues for the next round and 2.) no googling for the answer.  (It's OK to google to give accurate clues.)

If I state the name of the band and the first line of the song do I win?

Let me post some more song lyrics Infoabsorption and maybe it will strike something in your memory

In the [Song title] with black curtains near the station.
Black-roof country, no gold pavements, tired starlings.
Silver horses run down moonbeams in your dark eyes.
Dawn-light smiles on you leaving, my contentment.
I'll wait in this place where the sun never shines;
Wait in this place where the shadows run from themselves.
You said no strings could secure you at the station.
Platform ticket, restless diesels, goodbye windows.
I walked into such a sad time at the station.
As I walked out, felt my own need just beginning.
I'll wait in the queue when the trains come back;
Lie with you where the shadows run from themselves.
At the party she was kindness in the hard crowd.
Consolation for the old wound now forgotten.
Yellow tigers crouched in jungles in her dark eyes.
She's just dressing, goodbye windows, tired starlings.
I'll sleep in this place with the lonely crowd;
Lie in the dark where the shadows run from themselves.
