Hi Valerie,

Thanks again for all the hard work your doing!

I thought I would just drop a line here to

let you and any other interested party's know

whats going on in my head.

icon_smile.gif:)-->

I really hope this reunion happens. I'm a single person with no kids to think about, so for me perhaps its easier to jump up and go off somewhere for a few days.

Though I will confess here and now that in my business its more famine then feast, especially now.

icon_frown.gif:(-->Today I am flat broke, I hope not to be by then.So even though I only have myself to pay for and schedule, I'm a little worried that I won't be able to afford the trip.

My other concern is that Its going to be you, me and igotout. Are we going to need 100 rooms!

icon_biggrin.gif:D--> Thats a joke!

Are you hearing back from a lot of folks that aren't posters here???

Is it to soon for me to ask that question?

I'm dying to know icon_smile.gif:)-->

Valerie, I would be glad to stay where everyone else is staying based on what you've said. Count us in if you find a place. We are not particular, really. We'll stay at the Villagio another time.

I, too, wonder whether there will be much of a turn out. But to me it doesn't matter. It will be nice to see even a few. Keep us posted .

HI Igotout and Simpatico,

And all who are reading this....

I have been hearing from some people. Some of them are "waiting to see" how many come.

Others have said they will definately be there.

I feel the same way as Igotout, It doens't matter how many show up.

It will be good to see everyone who does come. I have about 50 on my personal

e-mail. The ones that want to come will be here....

Some people are still a bit apprehensive, understandibly, depending on where they are at with their sense of freedom and getting a life back etc.

I do want to assure them that it is a REUNION. icon_smile.gif:)--> icon_biggrin.gif:D--> icon_razz.gif:P--> anim-smile.gificon_biggrin.gif:D-->

And I want to clarify AGAIN that there will be no bible thumping and no idol worship. That is why some of the splinter people have ingored me, there is no platform for them to pontificate. icon_biggrin.gif:D-->

Sorry I had to say that.... icon_rolleyes.gif:rolleyes:-->

I can tell you this much....

The Way people will not be coming icon_rolleyes.gif:rolleyes:--> and neither will the splinter-type people. icon_wink.gif;)-->

I posted this in September so people that were interested could start stashing their money.

If it is only 35-40, 7th Corps, then we will open the private dinner cruise to anyone else.

I can tell you that all the hotels want reservations made with a cerdit card number BY, NO LATER THAN, June 20th .

After that, they dump all the rooms that have been held for us to the PUBLIC. Your card will be charged at check out. The same is with the dinner boat.

Summer time is when ALL the reunions are. Family, school, yada yada yada....

Some of the bidding Hotels let me know right up front that there was nothing available ALREADY!

I have not fianalized the price on the dinner boat thing yet.

It depends on:

#1 how many people attend,

#2 what food I order.

It is less expensive if we do hors'de overs (sp)?.

I hope this clears any questions people have.

It will be fun weather you stay for 2 days or 4....

Oh,

On Wendesday nights in the summer, at the Green Valley Ranch Casino, there is FREE JAZZ out by the gorgeous pool, with a view of the sun setting over the city of Las Vegas, and the mountains.

It is way cool. icon_cool.gif

Steve Oliver has been there twice.

Let's pray that someone really cool is there on Wednesday the 14th of July!!

bye for now,

Valerie

Thanks Valerie for all the hard work you are doing. My husband and I will be there...I will leave the choice of hotels up to the expert! I am just excited to get to see whomever shows up after all these years and find out how everyone's doing, etc. It sounds like a fun time to me and I am looking forward to it!

Valerie, I think some in so called "splinter groups" as you referred to them will be glad to participate if they can make it.

Not all ex-way ministry people are snobbish and elitist just like the ministry they were kicked out of or left. In fact, some are quite pleasant. (A few "bad apples" as the saying goes.)

For example, Mark & Karen Ann G or Chuck & Margie N, both in vastly differing "splinter groups" but both are awesome folks to this day and I am sure would attend if they can.

Concerning those still in TWI, it is certain that they will not attend unless they plan not to return to TWI icon_biggrin.gif:D-->. But there are only 3 or 4 still in from our entire group I believe. Lets see.... Joe & Paula W., Bill C., Phyllis G., maybe a couple others.... and stupid me until 3 years ago.

Hey, you only live once and we are not getting any younger. We had a cool experience in The Way Corps together.

What's wrong with touching base, being friendly and having fun unless you wanna be a boring old "stick in the mud"?

  • 3 weeks later...

Sad to say my special vibram sole lead boots have disappeared over time icon_frown.gif:(-->

My Gunnison cowboy boots, I think taken back to Ireland by a corps lady.

No, no more shoes from that time. However, I do have sneakers.
