In the spirit of the Sith, I would like to know which sequels you love and love to hate.

For instance, three of my favorite sequels are:

Beneath the Planet of the Apes

Superman II

Magnum Force

My least favorites:

Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom

Superman III

The all time worst would have to be Exorcist II: The Heretic.

Favorites...

The Empire Strikes Back

Lord of the Rings (II and III), although I think they belong in a special category.

X-Men 2

Godfather 2

Scream 2

Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade

The absolute hands-down worst sequel (and one of the worst movies ever made) is Grease 2. What an abomination.

Following closely on it's heels are Caddyshack II and More American Grafitti, two mega-turkeys.

For sequels better than the original, I'd add Spiderman 2 and Shrek 2 and one that's not usually considered a sequel - Goldfinger.

"Bad News Bears Go To Japan" is pretty horrific.

I'd have to say "Batman and Robin" is pretty bad, too.

I didn't see "The Ring 2", but it died pretty quickly, didn't it?

"Smokey and the Bandit: 2" was a craptacular crapfest of crappy crap.

I forgot about Batman and Robin.

How about the book sequels to great literary classics?

H - sequel to Wuthering Heights.

Scarlett - sequel to Gone With the Wind

Cosette - sequel to Les Miserables

The Phantom of Manhattan - no, I'm not making that up...

I believe only Scarlett was made into a movie, and a TV one at that. Don't bother.

Kind of proves that the first one was lying, doesn't it.

I was going to say any sequel that comes after "The Final Chapter." There were six such sequels after the "final" chapter of Friday the 13th.

The exception: We Craven's New Nightmare came after "The Final Nightmare," but it was so damn clever it deserved to be made.
