Exie,
On the floss thing. No disparragement meant to good old Pete, and I can't testify as to how serious he was about this. However I did once get a little teaching from him in the showers in the CD dorm about the sterwardship of floss. I could hardly forget a thing like that because it changed my life.

Reply to A la,
I play fiddle/violin in about 6 different groups. Swing, Dixieland, Belly Dance Music, Country, Folk and a Variety Band. Used to play a lot of fiddle tunes and bluegrass music, but not so much anymore. Two of the bands I play with work on the road from time to time, like maybe 11 weekends a year and a couple of 2 week trips. I really like doing the Swing stuff and the Arabic music. The others I mostly play in because they pay, but most of the bands are decent.

Al la P,
Tom Burke wrote this jazzy harmony for guitar and violin on one of the numbers and I used to love playing that. But don't remember the guitar player too well.
The drummer and I were both Colic D'vision and that was the 1st time VPW let Korps and Colics perform together.
Good luck to that little fiddler. Canuks have some great fiddle tunes!

Yep, to ala.
I still play. That's what I do for a living.
The only other guy from Tom Burke's band that year who I remember by name was the drummer W...
And to Rock... not so much.
I remember Friedrick and Ruthie, but didn't play with them much because they were so violiny and I was so fiddly. I'm a little bit more violiny nowadays, but still not a classical player.
Wish I could remember names of folks as well as some of you all. I recognize the names and remember faces and characters, but can only put together a few.

Don't mean to interrupt all the exciting sports talk. Did intend to post my "Hi and thanks" on the 9th Corps Tread. Guess now I know what "New Topic" means.
Posting is unfamiliar to me so, I may yet make further wrong dividings of the treads of gs.
I was Apprentice for 9th Corps, then College Div 78-79, then in the 10th Corps, then 11th Corps. Always was a smorgaseboard kind of guy.

Just wanted to say to all the folks on 9th Corps thread: I've been waiting for my registration to clear and meanwhile having a ball reading all these posting from the past year or so.
I look forward to yapping a little from time to time and posting on the "My Story" thread.
I wasn't in the 9th Corps, but I was around you guys a lot.
