  1. My name is Randy George.  I am a 16th Corps grad and spent my interim year in 1986 on staff at Headquarters and later worked on staff from 1992 - 1999 in the MIS Department and sang in the Chorus Choir during that time.  I left The Way in 2001 and now live in Orlando Florida with my wife Cathy and our three boys, all now adults 21 years and up.   A number of years ago I posted links here of home videos I made during that time but the website I posted them to has since disappeared.  I have uploaded over two hours of video to YouTube of both the original content and other content that I previously had not posted anywhere.  The two videos are marked "unlisted" which means that the only way you will be able to find them is using these links.  I am posting the links here with the hope that some will find the content meaningful.  Anyone who has been in The Way will be able to appreciate the people and places that I have documented in these videos.  If you have any questions or suggestions please drop me an email at rag421@juno.com.  Enjoy!

Yes, 1994 was the last year. There were six of them that summer and sometime after LCM announced that they would not be doing them anymore. It was an old wineskin you know. Camp Gunnison was to train the Way Corps and that's what he wanted them doing as their focus. The camps were a huge effort for the staff their as well and basically that's all the Corps and staff did for about two months in the summer.

Of course the next year the Rock was cancelled and about the only thing that remained was Word in Buisiness for a number of years more.

  3. As far as cancelling ROA, a big reason LCM gave to those of us on staff during that time was the amount of work it was on the staff and how much it took away from being able to do a lot of other projects at HQ. Most of the staff were glad to see ROA cancelled because of the work. It was six months of work for many of us. But I agree that the real reasons were probably control - much easier to control people who were scattered around the country and who did not have the opportunity to share notes when they got together at the Rock. Many people missed having ROA and I also agree that it added a great deal to the fellowship of the ministry as a whole and the bond that people felt being a part of something big.

  4. I saw the recent post about Camp Gunnison and Family Camps. LCM decided that Family Camps should be discontinued and my family attended the last or second to last one they had back in 1994. I have to say that it was one of the best family vacations that we had ever taken.

For those who may be interested, here are the other videos that I had posted here on GS back in January of 2006:

Outreach Services Center tour – 1992/1993 (6:15 min)

Party for LCM – April 1995 (10:55 min)

The Way International Headquarters – 1994 (4:48 min)

    Indiana Campus – July 1993 (3:01 min)

The Rock of Ages – 1993 (10:31 min)

The Fountain of Living Waters (3:20 min)

VPW WOW Auditorium - May 1994 (4:10 min)

    The Way Woods – 1994 (3:47 min)

  5. Newest video added is a brief tour of the Outreach Services Center, the OSC. (Note – much of this video has no sound.) The first part includes a photo of LCM at 1 ½ years old that he had put up on the east lobby bulletin board. The second part shows a little of how the OSC was decorated for the annual staff holiday party which was a very big event – we definitely ate a much nicer meal than pizzas! The men wore tuxes (if they had them) and the women wore gowns. There is a nice clip of Mrs. Wierwille talking to the dining room coordinator (who at the time was Mark N.)

  6. I figured that many people may not have seen some of these places and is one reason I posted these videos.

I think the one of the party for LCM shows just how far we went to lavish praise on him. You can't tell from the video but there was a red carpet for LCM to walk on and spot lights shining into the sky!

I expect that the videos will be viewed with various emotions, some good memories and some bad.

But I hope they give some view into The Way International that some may not have otherwise.

  7. I understand the mixed reactions to the videos.

(I'm sorry that some people are having technical problems seeing the videos, I don't know what more I can do but refer you to their web site for technical help.)

I recently got a new computer that I can use to transfer all of my video tape to electronic format. I thought I would experiment with a few posts and see how it went. The Vidilife web site is free and was the first one I found that did video hosting. I'm open to suggestions if others know of a better way to share these.

I began my involvement with The Way when I was 19 - that was in 1979. Twenty five years later I quit. During that time I went WOW, and went through The Way Corps and served on staff at HQ for over seven years. I've lived at HQ, Indiana Campus, Camp Gunnison and Emporia. The only location I have no video for is Emporia. I have put all my "Way-related" video onto DVD and have over two hours total.

Even though I have no interest in ever being involved with The Way again, it was an integral part of my life for 25 years and I have many fond memories (as well as not-so-fond).

Your feedback is appreciated and I will post more as I have time.

That's my only platform right now. I don't really like the other stuff you see either, that's why my first two posts played the video right in my Greasespot post. That presented problems for some people though. The site I am using is free and I am just trying this out for experimentation.

    Glad you enjoy it.

  9. The link below is to a compilation of home video

I took of the Fountain of Living Waters 1993 - 1994

It is my intention to eventually have a site where all my video

related to The Way can be stored for easy viewing by

anyone. I have about two hours total that include clips of

ROA 1993, Headquarters grounds, Indiana Campus, and

    Camp Gunnison.

The current video hosting site I am using has detailed information

about the computer requirements you need in order to view

the video successfully. Among other things, you need Windows Media

    Player.

  10. I cut some of the HTML from their site for Internet Explorer users they suggest:

    2) Internet Explorer User

To watch this video clip you must have the latest version of Windows Media Player.

download Windows Media Player for free.

You should be able to watch the video after installing Windows Media Player.

However, there are a few cases that even after installing Windows Media Player, you still can not watch the video. If this is the case, you need

to install an additional piece of software called Divx Codec. Click here to dowload codec for free.

  11. Hi Igotout,

I am experimenting with these videos here. The quality is not as good as most of the others I have, these just happen to be a couple of the first that I picked to try this with.

The stuttering sound is in the original sound. I think it is the camera picking up its own sounds. Sometimes I can hear the motor zoom in and out!

I am compiling a DVD with all of my Way video for you. I have about 54 VHS-C tapes - some only 30 minutes and others are 90 minutes. I have been working on them during my vacation and have made 11 DVD with 25 of my tapes on them.
