  1. i was rude, joe

    i apologize

    ExCat:

    Blessing in Christ,

You are forgiven. We can be friends if you want.

I am still waiting for you to Pm me with who you are, as you said you know my wife and me. It seemed to me that I recognized your voice, but cannot place the name to it.

    <_<

    Dmiller,

Are you related to Steve Miller who are married to Cindy both of the 6th.Corps?

  2. Dear Beloved Friends in Christ:

I was asked to find the Words of A Song that I sang during our Time in the 11th Way Corps, Called, "A Song in the Night".

I sang it once very well as a solo, and once not as well with, "Called Out". I didnt have the experience, or enough pratices wiht the band to do the song justice.

Anyway, it was a great song, and I cannot remember the words, one of the unfortunate residual effect of having Chronic Lymes Disease.

If anyone can help me find these words, It would be a blessing. As a Brother who is ill has asked me to send him the Words.

    Your Devoted Brother Always,

  3. dear joe,

    i'm against your beliefs

but i love you and cathy very much

    love,

ex and i wish you the the best always and forever

If you feel you must be against my beliefs, you are free to do so, after all you have freedom of will. I sense you are more against the Catholic Church as a Large International Ministry, that from time to time has sinners that do very bad things. By that measure, you would be against most organized Religions. There is no perfect Church on earth, where humans are part of it.

However, unlike the Way, the Catholic Church does not teach that is ok to behave sinfully. We do not Change the Truth, we don't say it is ok to fornicate, to have adultry, to molest Children, to rape teens etc..some of done this and the Church is being purified by this...some bishops tried to cover things up like families have done for years, other denomination do even now.

The Way, twisted the Truth and said its sinfullness was not sinfullness but the new Truth to be celebrated, if you can not see that differnce.. that it is because you wish not to.

You did bring up some things that are true, but I don't believe that you did so in a respectful manor, nor did you give me an opportunity to finish my explanations. So it was one sided, I could see that you had your mind made up before you asked the questions. So they were more of statements than questions, and only to disrupt others, especially myself. But that is a small price to pay for my Lord, God and Savior, Jesus Christ, he also was rejected by many of the religious people, it was the wounded the poor, the sick etc, that were attracted to him. Just like today, if someone thinks they have the answers they cannot lean anything.

It was easy to sense that you were very hurt by the Way, and now you are attacking others...but hating the Catholic Church, other groups and people will not bring healing to you in your life. You have to forgive as Jesus Said, "forgive us our Trespasses, as we forgive those that trespass against us..." if you want to be forgiven and healed within. Bitterness will only make your life miserable, and you will never be happy, its like a cancer..it just eats one away.

And Please, don't say that you love me when you treat me poorly, when you insult me and my beliefs because you are unhappy, You can disagree with people, without getting personal, but again, It seems that because you've been hurt you can feel justified in hurting others.

  4. Hello old friends.

I have been away from GreaseSpot for awhile, seeking my fortune and dreaming new dreams. (You knew me before as Xena and before that as Schwaigers). I needed to come back to get your input on some thoughts I've had about the concept of "Agape", the messed-up lessons we learned from TWI, and how this relatively small piece of misinformation has impacted all of us.

    Nice to be home.

Xena was an angry warrior woman, and with that identity, I could express my recent divorced self. Not really me. Schwaigers was the married name, under which I would post things without assistance from my other half, even though I made it look like it came from both of us. Also a facade. Shifra is me, the midwife, the mom. You guys know me.

Enough preface and re-intro. Here's my latest curiosity:

TWI taught us that Agape was "the love of God in the renewed mind in manifestation in the household". Yuk. The rest of the world said it meant "unconditional love". Either way, I am now wondering if Agape is or has ever been HUMANLY possible. I propose that it is a form of love which only God can actually ... do. Sorta comparable to Creation.

Could it be that for us to even attempt such love is arrogant and presumptuous?

Could it be that making such attempts puts us into the role of a martyr, tolerating and accepting fellow Christians (and others) to the point of damaging or endangering ourselves?

To me it seems that this level of love far exceeds the love of self, and as Jesus taught we are to love our neighbors AS OURSELVES. Agape implies self-sacrifice - and beyond.

And what about TWI itself? Certainly they did not practice Agape. Any hint of love that they may have offered was totally conditional.

But if we are indeed NOT practicing Agape, then are we as Paul writes, nothing more than a "sounding brass or a tinkling cimbal"? Hmmmmmm. Well, brass and cimbals aint so bad. Add a couple of guitars and ya got yourself a good rock band. Talk to me.

    Shifra

    Dear Shifra:

Greeting in the Name of Jesus Christ.

Well, I studied that very question that you raise about, "Agape"...this term used in the Greek translates in to the Latin Word, Caritas from which we get the english word, Charity.

Form my studies I have concluded that Agape Love, is one of 5 words translated as Love in the Scriptures.

God Loves us with all 5 types of Love. But Perfect Love, Agape was not availble until the Incarnations of God as man,,, Jesus Christ. When one become part of the Body of Christ one takes on the Christ and by becoming more and more like Him, we are able to Love and give of our selves to God fully and to Others, not justfellow believers but all mankind. "God so loved the world", Agape yes, is unconditional love, but it is a Cathartic love, it is putting others before self. The other part of agape love is that is a gift from God, and it is a direct diliberate decision of the Will.

  5. Yeah, I wouldn't even try if Joe was not such a good friend. I wanted to support him. He was such a NICE guy and he went through some mean old crap. Ya know, like a lot of us did.

    Well Joe,

    Great broadcast

Sorry, I could not validate some of what you said. Not that you needed it. You did very well. Wonderful!

Well, the hubs wants to use the phone

    Dear Dot, Ex, and all,

Thanks for your support and graciousness. I know perhaps some didn't like the beliefs that I hold, I am not offended.

When I started my journey of faith after the Way, I would never, in my wildest imagination think that I would be a minister in the Catholic Church. But I worked hard, comparing, what the Way taught me, what Protestant understanding maintains and their reasons, against what the Catholic Church teaches and has always taught for 2000 years. I know that I am where God wants me to be and doing what He wants me to do.

    I love you all always,

    Joe

  6. no, really, i think the 11th corps was a special group of folks. maybe everyone feels that way about the corps they were in. (of course, they'd be wrong, but...) ;)

Amen Amen Amen, Brother, you got that right!

  7. Hey Ya'll, God Bless.

I was blessed that somepeople here had posted and have seen my interview on the EWTN Show,"The Journey Home". I wish I had had more time to have discussed things more specifically..but it was the first time I was being filmed on International TV, so I was not attentive as much as I would like to have been.

My Dearest Friend Dot called me when I was on my way to Church to tell me that someone posted the event, and that She and Her Hubby were Listening to the Show on the Radio.

I was very impressed with the Protocol not to post my name in regards to the Show without asking. But It is all over the Word Now LOL

Please keep me in your prayers, I love you ( youse in NY and NJ  )

    Yours in Christ,

    Joe Pasquella

  8. hello,

1st, let me say that I grew up in TWI and am well versed in TWI's teaching on this subject. I remember arguing with trinitarian ministers while I was still in high school and making them feel stupid. Atleast, they couldn't respond to the arguments against the deity of Jesus that I gave them.

When I tell people from a TWI background that I now whole-heartedly embrace the Nicene Creed they are incredulous. They assume that I have done this for social reasons or to fit in to a church, or the like.

I believe that I have rejected Way Doctrine on this issue because my study of the Scriptures compels me to. Further, I believe that everything in the Nicene Creed can be derived from scripture, either directly or by scripture buildup.

I believe that the Truth has nothing to fear from honest evaluation and critique. I feel I have done that.

What I have not done is present my findings to people from a TWI background. I would truly welcome anyone's honest discussion of this topic with me. In fact, I am asking for it.

I am still learning and believe also that I have somethings to share that might just bless someone.

    Is anyone willing?

    Dear SonoftheFather:

Greetings in the Name of Christ our Lord and Savior!

I read what your post on your beliefs with respect to the HolY Trinity and the Nicene Creed being the Truth. I agree with you also after many years of studing God's Word.

    God Bless you always,

    Dcn.Joe Pasquella

  9. Joe, Ask your wife if she remembers Kay Nugent and if you all know what she's been doing? Would love to get a hold of her....thanks

I asked Cathy about Kay , yes she remembers her, but has no Idea where she is or how she is doing.

    Blessings,

    Joe

  10. Yeah the sevens tell me they taught you all well, and your're still.... Oh well, you don't care to know I am sure.

They however are very noble and pray for you with compassion and unconditional love..so they tell me.

    :)

  11. Those Niners - well pfffffffffffffffftttttttttttt! what do they know anyway?????

I asked my wife, and she said,,Yes size does count. :)

( and she is 7th Corps)

  12. Hey, are any of you truly former 9th Corps? I heard the guys in flying saucers came and took them all away. Now because the use of"user names", and Screen Names is so popular...one cannot be sure that the 9th Corps has been taken away or not.

Hummm...I sure Rocky will reply to this ....or is it really Rocky? Live Long and Prosper.

  13. don't let the bed bugs bite! :wink2:

Now they thing were are bugs! I always knew they hated us out of jealousy :)

After all, we were the Corps that loved unconditionally and also the largest Corps If I remmember correctly.

  14. Yes this false teaching of the Way was a tool for the evilone to bring condemnation upon the Christian believer.

To me the teaching,"All believing = receiving is like witchcraft. My our Works of Beleiving, we make God to heal us, nor not heal us. We make God do things if we believe in General if it is a LAW.

The Way had no Way of dealing with real life and human suffering that we are go through because of the Sin of Adam and Eve. Suffering has become part of life, and good people, holy people, go through the hardest of times and sufferings it seems. The Psalms are full of such examples.

Human Suffering for Christians or non Christians will not end until Christ Comes back for the last Judgement. The Key in this life is to remain faithful to God not only when things go good but in bad times. I have been married for 24 years now; for better for worst, for richer of poorer, in sickness and health, to death do us part. I have experienced all these things in life and in marriage, I am still married and love my Wife and Still in Relation with God and Love him. All beleing does not equal receiving let me tell ya.

    Loving youse all,

    Joe

  15. Dear Dot:

I love this dog! Is he healthy etc?

If you find someone to send him to me, I'll take him if he is gentel and good with Kids.

    Love always,

    Joe

Hi! I am Ty. At first, the Doc didn't know what I was, but he is pretty sure I am a Great Dane mix. Maybe, because I am all feet and love. They think I might have Lab in there as well. I showed up at the Animal Hospital on a freezing rainy day looking for a friend to take me in. The people at the hospital think I was abandoned as I was so well cared for -- and I do look pretty good.

Thing is, one of the owners is not into harboring strays, so they have to find me a home PRONTO. They call me TY as I am brindle and look Ty-dyed  . I like other animals including cats. The hospital cat jumped into my run and the staff person said, "Ut-to." But I just wanted a new friend. I am really a nice boy and want a chance to live. I do not poo-poo in the house except on Sunday when they were closed and only took me out once. But what was a fella to do?

I would love to love you.

Dot is my friend. She said I am about 4.5 months old and around 30 pounds so far. I am going to be a biggie but that is just more to love. I might get to 70 or 80 pounds.

I am good in the house, good with kids and really want a chance. I will just lay on the floor by your feet and watch your every move in awe and love, if you give me an opportunity.

    I want to love you,

    Ty

Please pray with me that Ty finds a home or someone to foster him.

  16. Just noticed that the 9th corpse are calling us goofy actually someone named Rooky. Well, we should let them know - we might be goofy but we are a proud goofy and don't forget it.

Well, we might be goofy, but let them know...Don't **** with us. :)

  17. I work for our County Assessor. We sent out Notice of Value Cards this past week and have been bombarded with unringing phones this whole week. One guy came in to ask what programs we had to help people. We have one to help those over 65 and another to help widows/widowers/disabled. There are income criterias which have to be met in order to be eligible for these programs, but it is something. Our State's Legislators are the ones who make the criteria for these programs. Our office just implements them.

This guy was ticked because there was no program for him because he didn't have a job. He wouldn't be able to pay his taxes. He said it was like the mother devouring her young. If there were programs that paid you taxes because you were unemployed, there would be many more taking advantage of that scenario. I disagree with the mentality, but I am compassionate at the same time because I have been unemployed for a few months at a time in my life. I'm thinking this guy should go to some fast-food joint and make some money!!! His property taxes aren't so high he wouldn't be able to pay them with a minimal job. He should be happy he has a home to call his own. A lot of peple in this world don't. Devouring the young? I don't see it. Yes, there are many changes I see that can happen to lower taxes, but my office doesn't deal with taxes. They deal with valuation. If we valued the property lower, the taxing authorities would raise their tax rates to get the money they wanted. It is a vicious cycle.

Is there a side I'm not seeing in this scenario? I'm thinking the County is way more lenient than the IRS will ever be. I feel lacking in the compassion mode this week just because I have heard the same thing over and over and over. Hopefully this weekend will recharge me so I can go to work in a better mode next week.

    Dear Friend:

I can understand how frustrated you must get with all these phone calls, and hearing all the complaints that are directed to you can become overwhelming; you did not set the policy and you are helpless in assisting them.

The World is run by the prince of this world. It will try to cause all the havac it can to people. When these people call you, they are feeling helplessness in this situation in their lives, they don't know how they are going to make ends meet. Perhaps the best you can do for them is be a listen ing ear, try to show some encourgement to them some words of Hope. Pray for them.

I have been in terrible finacial situation in my life due to illnesess and unability to work. I took me two years to get Social Security Disability. If it were not for friends from our Church, we would have become homeless. We had a home on Cape Cod MA, I built it, had my own business as a barber, but then all these things happend in my life, and my wife is unable to work, and not eligible collect Social security Disability because she had not worked enough weeks or months...she had been on Staff at the Way for several years, and they didnt take our SSI from her paycheck of only $150.00 a month.

Whe she wanted to get car, she has to beg them to increase her wages to $300.00 a month, and they thought they were doing her a big favor.

She was overwroked in food services for many years. Her appretice year she worked as house elf for Donna Randal.

Well, anyway, because of my own personal experience, and do the the nature of my non pay working job of helping people via a Society that I belong to, Called, St. Vincent de Paul Society,( we help the poor by helping them get furniture, help with paying utilities, clothing etc.), I hear the same emtional needs and disparation. I treat them with the dignity befitting anyone who was made in the image of God. I am reminded by the word of Jesus,"whatsoever you do to the least of these my brothers, you do unto me".

They Way, taugth us a Calvanistic approach to things..During the Reformation, Calvin had the notion that everyone was predestioned to either be eternally dammned or have eternal life in Christ. Those that had money were blessed by God, and those that had not were like that because God willed it. Now take that notion and add the Ways Teaching on Beliving equals receiving, the aboundant sharing formula, and the only answer they thought of was make these poor slobs take the PFAL Class and teach them.

However, in the old and new Testament, God willed that people help the poor, the Word of God has so much about our responsibility to the poor, it is amazing that Churches like the Way ignore the mandates to help those in need. So what has happend is that one of the political parties took it upon itself to fight for the needs of the poor , but lost its soul on moral issues, such as abortion, gay rights, euthanasia, embrionic stem cell reseach , taking God out of the Schools, promoting all the sexual divient things that our sick society allows. The other party while claiming to be God Fearing People, shows a lack of concern for the poor and would end all social assistant programs to if it could. Radical Capitalism is just as bad as Communism.

Well, sorry if I carried on and on, but I am passionate about things at times.

    In God's love and peace,

    Joe

  18. Yeah, I took the Class in December of 76 and Phil Sabastian was my Branch and Twig Coordinator. I knew the whole lot you spoke of and Megan who married Geoff Latchaw, they are now in Iowa, with Dana Armstrong.

Then Ken Barten came to Paterson, NJ and was Branch Leader.

Then Steve and Cindy Miller (6th corps) where the branch leaders. I got into the Word with Steve and Rita Migliore, my 11th Corps Brother and Sister.

    Peace,

    Joe

  19. Well, I know in the Begining that Sue Pierce from the 11th Corps was part of CES, but when she told me that the Lord spoke to her about the Trinity being Ture, and Jesus was God etc, She told John Lynn about that. She ceased being part of CES.

She Studied I believe in Denver Seminary, and is now an ordained minister in a major denomination.

If the CES would teach what all Christians know to be true about Deity of Jesus Christ, and get rid of the other teaching about the Soul of man being asleep until the gathering together, they would have been accepted. Why must they hold on to false doctrine that were taught by the Big Mother Cult, the Way?

There are writting called the Church Fathers, or Patristic Teachings of the Early Christian Fathers and Writters. These documents are from the direct successors of the Original Apostles. I think you would all be amazed what the Church of the First and Second Century truly belived and practice. Why didn't VPW tell us about these great Works of Theology when we were in the Corps? After all us grads go a degree in Theology that is not worth anything in the Academic World?

    Joe
