  1. The STS (Sunday Teaching Service) as it has been renamed, happens at 3pm now. When I was around in 2008, it was EMPTY. There was also a host of unfilled staff positions, which made the emptiness even worse. So what did Rosalie and the gang do to try and hide the emptiness? They started scheduling field visits from across the country. Charter a bus(es) and coerce as many people as you can to get on board. The only problem is there aren't enough people left in TWI (or enough of them that want to participate) to do this every time there is a service. So most of the time the auditorium is EMPTY.

Let's define empty. Typically, without a bussed in audience, they had trouble filling the center of the first three rows. I kid you not. The only times the place came close to capacity was pentecost, the anniversary, and perhaps a concert where the local community was invited to attend. By community I mean all the various and sundry business contacts that showed up out of obligation. But then only the lower auditorium was used. The top is only used at pentecost and the anniversary - maybe.

    LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!

  2. Top leader once said: "Slavery was not as bad as it was made out to be. They were in loving households and were taken care of."

I'm still gagging over that one.

    OMG ... really?

Reading through this topic made me realize just how very mysogynistic TWI was/is.... I grew up with it for half of my childhood and didn't really ever consider just how NASTY towards women both VP and LCM and others were. I think most of it I just chalked up to differences in the times people were raised, or that they were just referring to one specific woman, and not all women.

I was blind, but now I see.

Mysogynistic -- yup -- if you're married, you have to ask your husband first before making a decision.

  3. "If I got you into TWI or coaxed you into The Way Corps, I regret it and apologize for being a part of TWI propagandizing." from one of the posters. Thank you for that statement. I've wondered all these years why those who are in the Way don't feel some type of guilt or regret for sucking others into this sick organization ... sucking their money away from them and cutting them off from the world and their family. It is shameful. It is sickening. It is sinful.

  4. You know, really what does it matter, other than warning others of the evils of The Way, where this jerk went to school. He fooled thousands of people and ruined lives. As I said in another post (I'm now editing it for emphasis):

    1. The man was evil personified.

    2. The man lied through his whole life.

    3. The man used the weak and needy to build himself up.

    4. The man was a sexual pervert and was unfaithful to his wife and his children.

    5. The man was a grand thief and stole from thousands who trusted him.

If there is justice and a hell, he will burn and be tortured for eternity.

  6. They could try teaching about the generosity and lovingness of God.

They could try reading and teaching from the gospels, about the exemplary life of Jesus.

They could try teaching humility, respect, generosity, not esteeming others greater than oneself, making themselves servants (ie really serving) others.

They could try teaching "love" as being tender, and being like a nursing mother with their flock - instead of practicing "tough love" and bullying their flock.

They could try teaching hospitality, and opening their doors to all, including the homeless and filthy off the street (think: what might be in Plurality Palace), those with addiction problems; those who need a break from the hardness of their lives.

How could they teach generosity and all the other Christian things you've rightly listed when all the money they collect just stays inside and in the hands of a few?
