Those are my 3 fiddles. Looking at them (as you see them),
the one on the left is a no-namer from Illinois, but is the best.
Probably built around 1900 (just an educated guess).
It's sound is awesome.
The one on the right, is my old guy from France.
(if the label inside is correct), it was made in 1750 (or thereabouts).
It's got a (signed) *repair label* on the inside, from a luthier in Milwaukee, 1896.
The Fiddle in the middle (sounds like the name of a tune!!),
was made by an ancient ancestor of mine. It's the *family fiddle*.
You can tell it's homemade, by the size of the F-holes, on the front of it.
All 3 are sitting in the original *wooden coffin case* made for the fiddle in the middle.
The fiddle and the case traveled many miles over the western plains, back in the mid-1800's..
It ended up in Iowa, and I got it from my great-great-aunt Ida ----
(who died at age 101 in the 1970's), and no one ever thought ---
to ask her about the detailed history of this thing.
It's as perky, if not more so (today), than it was when I got it. -
Mighty purty!!!!!

The supervisors look like they know what they are doing.

Belle -- I think it's great your folks came to the roast!
Hope they had a good time. Given the company they were in, I bet they did.

It's good to see/meet someone who posts so humorously, thoughtfully, and incitefully and keeps the waters around here stirred up and never stagnant.
Mr. H --- Salud!!

Next year (by hook or crook) I will make it to the roast. This is the second one I missed.

Or is Abi engaging in her own method of stress reduction??
Methinks I can make out a few GS poster's names written on that hot dog she's roasting! -
Isn't that HerbieJuan?
And J is looking as good as ever.

The Banjo has as many (if not more).
The Bouzouki may be up for sale soon.
(Too hard to stretch the fingers, to reach the correct frets).
The William Knabe piano has more *musical miles* on it,
than all other instruments here combined.
It was my Grandmother's, and she got it in 1920.
She was one heck of a classical pianist, and composer as well.
