  1. Hello all!!! I remember Oenophile, Jim Wood, CA Dreaming, and Exxie from the WOW year. I lived near you, CA Dreaming, and drove a 1961 Dodge Pioneer. Could fit four COMFORTABLY in the cavernous back seat.

I'm not sure how I missed the keg party at the end of the WOW year . . . I was probably there but just don't remember.

I decided to take some time "off" today and somehow ended up in GSC. What a fun place! Have enjoyed reading several pages of this thread, where you planned and pulled off the 2006 Texas BBQ. Got a kick out of your various definitions/descriptions of authentic Texas BBQ.

I live near St. Louis, am single-again (AKA divorced), have two AWESOME daughters. TEach high school English, am working on becoming a reading specialist. Am playing a fair amount of music, (gigging makes nice part time job and gives me an excuse to play every day) and have managed to write (maybe) a CD's worth of children's music . . .

Would love to hear from y'all.

    Mary

Hugs and more hugs to you and your girls! :cryhug_1_:

  2. I feel very secure in my job, as a kithen supervisor at a public school. The summer is where I will have to look elsewhere for extra income. If push comes to shove I can dust off my razors and scissors and get my blow dryer out and do hair. Everyone needs their hair done!!! :D

  3. Matilda,

Probably saw you and hubby back then, lived in the area and Bob and new horizons were strong, I forget what you called yourselfs back in the day, but you were all pretty funny. Those times were truly fine....btw I asked my husband to marry me..and 25 years later we are still enjoying life, w/out de way...

  4. We sold it in 1987 before we moved. He wanted it as his surf mobile.........

How about the Halloween costume party at my house, all you guys in your togas! Just in time for Oenophiles birthday.

Hmm, my long term memorie is working pretty good . To many things to bring up here.

  5. I remember stopping at Ex10's parent's after the year was over, nothing like that southern hospitality. Seeing Elvis's mansion was exciting too. I remember keeping someones bike at my place think it was PG's. As for cars, I had a 63 Mercury Monterey, in mint condition.....except when it died on me near Emporia. But it was fixed in no time. That car also got hit which provided me $$$ for the Advanced clas. Finally got it fixed in 85, while in CA.

  6. Fried Burdock

This is the stuff that looks like rhubarb but when it matures it get those velcro type ball seeds that stick like glue to all your clothing.

Pick burdock with stems no bigger than your little finger in diameter.

Wash really good and cut in 4 in. lengths.

Dip in a scrambled raw egg and then dip in either corn meal or bread crumbs.

Fry in oil in a pan till tender, then eat.

    Yummy!

An you say you don't have anything to eat from your yard!
