  1. Old age is tough on husbands -- But, it is important for men to remember that, as women grow older, it becomes harder for them to maintain the same quality of housekeeping, as when they were younger. When you notice this, try to be a considerate husband and show some understanding.

My name is Wayne, and let me relate how I handled the situation with my wife, Beverly. When I retired a few years ago, it became necessary for Bev to get a full time job along with her part-time job, both for extra income and for the health benefits that we needed. Shortly after she started working, I noticed she was beginning to show her age.

I usually get home from the golf course, about the same time, as she gets home from work. Although she knows how hungry I am, she almost always says she has to rest for half an hour or so, before she starts dinner. I don't yell at her. Instead, I tell her to take her time and just wake me when she gets dinner on the table. I generally have lunch in the Men's Grill at the country club, so eating out again at night, is not reasonable. I am ready for some home-cooking when I hit that door.

She used to do the dishes as soon as we finished eating, but now it's not unusual for them to sit on the table for several hours after dinner. I do what I can by diplomatically reminding her several times each evening that the dishes won't clean themselves. I know she really appreciates this, as it does seem to motivate her to get them done before she goes to bed.

Another symptom of aging is complaining. For example, she will say that it is difficult for her to find time to pay the monthly bills during her lunch hour. But, boys, we take them for better or worse, so I just smile and offer encouragement. I tell her to stretch it our over two or even thee days. That way she won't have to rush so much. I also remind her that missing lunch completely now and then wouldn't hurt her any (if you know what I mean). I like to think that this is one of my strong points.

When doing simple jobs, she seems to think she need more rest periods. She had to take a break, when she was only half finished mowing the yard. I try not to make a scene. I am a fair man. I tell her to fix herself a nice big, cold glass of freshly squeezed lemonade and just sit for a while. And, as long as she is making one for herself, she may as well make one for me, too.

I know that I probably look like a saint in the way I support Bev, and I am not saying that showing this much consideration is easy. Nobody knows better than I do how frustrating women get as they get older, but guys, even if you just use a more tact and less criticism of your aging wife because of this letter, I will consider that writing it was well worthwhile.

After all, we are put on this earth to help each other.

    Signed,

    Wayne

Postscript: Wayne died tragically shortly after writing this letter. Although his wife's prints were found all over the murder weapon, a Calloway extra long 50-inch Big Bertha Driver II golf club, the all-women jury took only 15 minutes to find her not guilty.

  2. Hello Greek2me,

Oddly enough, I just might be able to help you out or at least point you in the right direction. Cellulose fiber products, are not actually my area of expertise...unless of course, you'd be interested in acquiring the machinery and equipment to manufacture your own products. :biglaugh:

Anyway, it's highly unlikely you'll be able to buy direct from any of the remaining manufacturer's factories direct...unless of course, you're in a position to contractually commit to purchasing a high volume of sizable quantity orders; otherwise, they'll most likely just refer you to one of their distributors -- which again, depending upon the size of your market, becoming a distributor yourself, for one of the manufacturers, might be an option worth pursuing.

Other than the major paper companies, who actually produce the cellulose fiber, the primary manufacturers here would be Proctor & Gamble, Kimberly-Clark, Scott Paper, etc. (but, with so many mergers and acquisitions a common trend among these industries, ownership of any and all of them is subject to change). I think some of these products are also manufactured by subsidiary companies of textile manufacturers, like Standard Textile out of Reading, Ohio. Although, I think they've recently caught the Chinese bug (as many of the others have), so I'm not sure if they're still partnered with any cellulose fiber manufacturing here in the states (cloth diapers, maybe Heheh!)

Nevertheless, if you're interested in whatever limited information I may be able to provide, it might be better to do so off the board, in which case, you're more than welcome to PM me. And if not -- that's ok too. Either way, best of luck to you!

  3. I heard Dooj has suffered some identity theft and is keeping a low profile till things are sorted out. It has caused her significant embarrassment.

If anyone has suffered from personal information being released by the imposter, please don't hold it against the real Dooj.

She was just beside herself with grief when she found out that someone had been using her name to hurt others.

For those that have been a victim of this travesty, please ask her yourself, do not just assume that she would do such a thing. I know her well enough to believe that she would not do this to anyone, not even someone that she did not like and certainly not to a person that she considers a friend.

She found a nasty Trojan on her computer and is in the process of correcting it. I guess it would give someone else access to her computer...anyway she decided to take a vacation.
Hopefully the powers that be will track down this imposter soon and bring them to cyber justice.

Dooj will probably not be doing much "cyber surfing" until she is certain that the culprit cannot infiltrate her computer again.

A Trojan virus allows someone else access to her computer. It's a lot more serious than someone simply posting junk under the name Doojable.

Indeed that is more serious -- as are the insinuations and conjectures inferred throughout this thread, that this culprit impersonating Doojable, was quite likely another poster/member of this discussion board.

Regardless of any subsequent discussions, that may have already taken place, among members in this board's private auxiliary sub-forums, or wherever -- Normally, one would expect some sort of postscript, to a thread such as this -- as a means of clarification -- by either Doojable or one of those who'd initially posted their conjectural insinuations, that the one who'd gained access to Doojable's computer, and who was releasing personal information about others, WAS or WAS NOT, someone from this discussion board and maybe even known to many others here.

To leave postulations of such a serious nature, just hanging out there, in a thread in the open forum is quite troubling, to say the least. To not make a postscript, here in kind, publicly, where this thread originated, would not only be irresponsible, but would be a further invitation to those on this board, whose favorite pastime seems to be speculating wildly about their ill-conceived suspicions concerning others.

Actually, this thread seems made to order for them....perhaps, that was the intended purpose? And in retrospect, this thread seems indicative, of more of, what one should normally expect here.

  4. on a side note about what people an know about one another..

I was at a meeting for people networking , this shocked me, but it is true.

this kid really a young man in his twenties said he had just got out of prison , and need to know where a certain court was . i didnt recognize the circuit court and asked why.

ok and this is the part that killed.

dude just walked out of prison (for drugs felony) with a lengthy a record .

so he was asking if he needed to check that little box on the job application if you have ever been convicted for a crime.

    she said no.

he didnt ? he just came out of prison???

he needed to go to this court and asked the judge to sign a release of some sort saying he did not have to tell of his conviction on the application .

no big deal that is what he had to do when he went to prison before !ok then!

wow . i was amazed that is even possible ! his was drugs i am sure the judge would reconsider if it was a violent crime like murder or rape.. but still.

so we really do not know we are dealing with in society even with checks and balance.

I do suppose it is right or eles we would be feeding the dude for free his entire life either on welfare or in the prison, this would give him a chance. In new york with three strikes your out policy a convicted felon 3 times is not alowed to stay in this state, he must be removed to another state, he can not collect any money or aids etc.. even if he has done the time.

but still! wow i was surprised.

Sounds as if he simply filed to have his records expunged...As long as it's not a federal crime/conviction, I think it can be done in every state, with each state having their own eligibility requirements.

  5. actually there are two sides to it ... basking in the abuse or revealing TWI eeeevils.

But my main point is about the constant back and forth over what seems the SAME darn point. But I guess "Thaaaat's entertaaaaainment" (sung to that little tune ... "that's entertainment")

Well drinking the blood of the lamb does seem rather cannibalistic ... and of course they were not eating Jesus that night, so you hope the meaning is for the wine and bread (or dry scab wafer) to be merely symbolic ... and not actually becoming bood and flesh, (which would however, be more nourishing).

The supper of course was not in the land of milk and honey ... but Jesus says (from wikipedia) This cup is the new covenant in my blood; do this, whenever you drink it, in remembrance of me." So he says you are to drink the cup ... I guess that means the contents ... do we know it was wine? Is there a church that uses drambouie? But Jesus had a history of turning water to wine ... so I'd bet on that.

I'd do more research, but checking over your twig leader's blue forms, I see you have not been abundantly sharing 10% 15% so you are no doubt out of fellowship. When you send in your check you will find the scales drop from your eyes ... and the eyes of your understanding will be enlightened.

Progress in processing not seen since the first century...serving churches for the better part of the last century.

New Post Re: My YWAM Horror Story I did my DTS at YWAM Denver and Dale Lambert was my DTS school leader. I witnessed all kinds of insanity. Men would be making out with other men in the hallways, listening to all kinds of "metal music"(non-christian), smoke pot with each other while off base, there were rumors of sexual activity, both hetero and homosexual.

Not that any of those things are bad...but.......

Why was I told that I couldn't be a missionary because I wasn't "social enough"? I was told that I was "an introvert."

Everyone else got to go on their outreaches except for a few who lied about smoking(cigarettes).

The authoritarianism and hypocrisy is outrageous. The YWAM leaders would always believe that they had some special "connection to God" to be able to dictate and rule over student's lives. I'm not talking about simple rules like "no drugs allowed" but rather "we prayed and we feel like the spirit says that you're not loyal enough" or "we prayed and we feel like God says you're not to go on any outreaches." For just asking the question "why are we having a special group meeting tonight?" I was told "we prayed and we feel that you have a spirit of rebellion and if you ask or question anything any further we may have to send you home..." I was told that I could not watch an "R" movie at a movie theater even though several of the other students did...and yes, the leaders knew full well about it.

The lack of knowledge and thinking is another story. Almost none of those people ever questioned the things they were taught. They always assume it's true and in matters of contradictory teachers and teachings, they'd just believe and follow whatever everyone's emotions were feeling. I remember "holy spirit week" where they tried to get everyone "baptised in the holy spirit." I went along with it just to stop people harassing me and asking me "are you still speaking in tongues? you better not stop doing that or you might lose the holy spirit....." I now know that the Divine Spirit is within all of us no matter what our religion is. Very few actually had answers in regards to salvation or "hearing the voice of God." A lot of the "prophesy" in those groups was/is nothing more than lower psychism. Sure, they can be accurate once in a while, but even then it's on a lower level. Just because someone is psychically/spiritually sensitive doesn't mean they know how to exercise it or have a trained mind. It also does not mean that they understand spiritual principles. It only means that they are sensitive to the lower astral levels.

1 person did get sent home for making an amateur sex video of homosexual nature....6 or 7 people were involved but only that one person got sent home. I know 3 or 4 others were sent home simply for smoking a legal nicotine cigarette. A few people got "talks"(slaps on the wrist) about their openly homosexual behaviour in front of everyone. They all went on outreach. For the record, when I was told by the YWAM staff 1 week before I was to leave on outreach that they did not want me on outreach, I asked them if I had done anything wrong. I ask them to clarify their reasons and they did make it clear to me that I had not commited any "sin" or done anything wrong...except for the one time I questioned, but that that was not the reason they were sending me home. They made it clear that they were sending me home because they "prayed to God" and felt that I was "not social enough" and was "an introvert." After having left I of course found out how true all those words about "we all love and care about you very much" and "we do care about you." really were.......

I never heard back from them and when I got home....well.....back to the usual christian insanity at home and my parent's church.

The fact is, in YWAM, and christianity, it's all about the Beautiful People. No, it's not just "one group of bad christians" but rather....almost every group of christians except for a few open minded non-evangelical churches. If you're an extrovert, and popular, then yes, there is plenty of love waiting for you in christianity. If you ask questions and want to understand things and/or desire a real and deep spirituality, or if you're just not popular...well.......you are considered as one of the horrible people and are either going to be abused or kicked out by "holy spirit love filled" christians. it's all about......

    the Beautiful People........

If any YWAMer believes that I'm on the wrong path and that they have "The Spiritual Truth" and answers then feel free to send me a message, I'd love to discuss these things with you and discover "truth"(If I indeed have not found it yet).

  7. It would seem to me it's merely a matter of concern that's being alluded to -- much the same as many other topics opened for further discussion and comment -- just as it's become a hot topic on many other boards, such as this one - where the guy may or may not have been a regular member.

For those who don't know what's going on, here's what happened:

Someone saw on the news that a gunman had killed people at YWAM in colorado. Someone came to this forum and saw someone's messages indicating a desire to kill people, and not caring if he was killed in the gunfight. The person who saw the posts knew the poster was a former member of YWAM and had also attended Ted Haggard's church. He or she contacted the FBI, believing that the person who left the posts could be the shooter, and showed them the message board.

The FBI is looking into the possibility that the person who left the threatening messages here was the shooter. The IP address of the person who left the messages was recorded.

The shooter may have traveled 70 miles to Colorado Springs and opened fire on New Life Church also.

The shooter is reported to have killed himself.

Two moderators, Lutherius and boustro have already been contacted concerning the information.

  8. Ha!

    First attempt 286,000 Level 9 TIQ 103

I thought you said "speed" was not as important as accuracy? I looked away from the screen for what seemed like just a couple of seconds and lost my chance to even click the location for one here in the states. Sheesh! Of all to places, to miss and have it ask me if I know I'm on earth. LOL

And you're right those African cities were a trip -- one I'd need to do more than pack a lunch to find -- even if I did a second run! :biglaugh:

BTW...Aren't Rhino's suppose to know Africa like that tip of their horn? ;)

  9. OK, but the only way you get that kinda food here is if it is in a microwavable little box. Hope you don't mind eating right out of the little black plastic plates.

Awwe, aren't you sweet....but, not to worry -- I wouldn't dream of having you go to all that trouble on my account. :)

  10. Maybe it was your sense of humor. Oh well.

Btw -- What do you think of the selection of emotes available here? Perhaps you can bring a few of your own selection on board if you like. It might be worth grabbing a few of them.

    :)

Are you taking exception to my choice of emoticon? I don't see how my selection of emoticons, differs from those available on the main board -- then again, I haven't spent much time, investigating my preference settings.

You have something in particular in mind?
