  3. (((masterherbalistS)))

sorry to hear about the illness with your dear brother.

there are new and some older, time-tested, and trusted innovative therapies for improving liver function affected by hep c, and much will go right along with any traditional medical treatment. as you already know, he can borrow from tcm, herbalism, traditional folk and home remedies, flower and essential oil, homeopathy, ayurvedic remedy sources, to vitamin and minerals and essential nutrients, and other alternative medical therapies. much can help strengthen the immune system, and liver function, and there are also new aids for toxin detox from the liver.

it's just too much to mention here. there is a vast amount of assistance from nature. it might be easy to add the most comforting, and pleasant experiences in the beginning. e-mail if you want to talk about it some more...we may both have new information to share with each other.

please tell Gregg that a couple of positive acquaintances from n.y. (who also enjoyed those late catfish dinners with him, especially prepared by chef shirley, uptown @ BN)...wish for his renewed strength and total healing. i'm so glad he continues to eat nutritious food. it is medicine to the body, and something to enjoy while he gets his recovery going.

i hope you are remembering to continue doing well also, dear person.

in my thoughts, the both of you

    love

  5. I always check dates regardless of which store I go to. I had not been aware, however, of their "propensity for buying seconds or damaged goods." Where can I get this information verified?

I DO know that they have stopped, only very recently, purchasing from China. I had bought some frozen seafood from them that they had obtained from China.

I REALLY like their chicken egg rolls, maple syrup, and New England Sea Scallops. Not all together, mind you, but those products I like.

    Hi Guys,

I like certain items from Traders' too Rocky. Checking expiration dates is second nature for me too.

While I do not work for Whole Foods, I know a few suppliers who happily market products to them.

I recently read that Whole Foods' is rated in the top 10 (I think, if memory serves me correctly), for great companies to work for (Forbes).

They received excellent marks as an employer in 2007, especially their benefit packages, which also included promotions to top tier positions from inside their company, bi=lateral job changes and a creative, responsibly concerned cash fund for employees in need, as well as a choice of retirement packages, savings and credit plans, etc.

Their products seem expensive on one level, but if you think about the long-term health benefits, it is balanced for sure.

My guess in affording to shop there when budgets are tight would be that it's more doable if prioritizing consumption in a revised manner, like pre-planning meals so everything is utilized (no waste) and setting the standard higher with what we put into our bodies in the first place, which if that were eating the best possible nutrients, than we would have less yearly health care costs, and could use nutrition as a preventative health measure, like an alternative to medicine.

Seems a nice place to work for a semi-retired person, or anyone looking to build a career in the retail business.

Anyway, enjoy the fruits and veggies this season!

Oh, btw, have you ever gone to a 'raw' restaurant? They are popping up everywhere.

    Be good to yourselves.

  6. from one of dear tex's reviews

Ex, don't be afraid to read the book. You can always read it with a certain detatchment, or objectivity...the latter might be helpful.

You can find her truth validating, and possibly through this newest evidence, the facts as you knew them once MAY now hold less power over you. You might find it's closer to letting go than it is to re-experience fear.

    Worth a try.

    Love

  8. listening to Tom Waits....Martha and all things 'closing time'. 'Poetry in motion.'

This week I've also been listening to the soundtrack from 'ONCE', and Dave Matthews Live at Radio City Music Hall, Faith Hill, Alecia Keyes ~ 'No One' .... anyway, it's been a stellar week listening to song artists and their excellent sets from last year (and before, thank you always, Tom Waits)

  9. If we are thinking the same Pam, she has been out for about 7 years...and lives on the east coast, right?

Anyway, I'm sure if it's the same lady, she will reply to you.

  11. I hope that many of you have found a WHOLE FOODS Supermarket near or coming soon into your town.

Like everything else, it's time to make positive changes.

Whole Foods offers a variety of wholesome food choices, organic, natural, or combination of organic and natural.

There are differences in our food supply in case some haven't noticed.

Take the time to seek out, plan to cook, and make delicious, the neutriceuticals that ultimately make our bodies more resilient to disease, our brains function properly, and our energy soar so we can function properly.

Perhaps you have another store nearby, and Whole Foods hasn't gotten there by you yet....fine.

What do you love to buy at your healthy market, and how do you prepare these natural foods....will you share with us?

    What's your favorite snack?

What's your fav lunches, dinners, etc., to make - alla naturelle?

  12. sorry to hear such news Raf...

perhaps some relief could be found in holistic medicine, and the facets of 'touch' therapies, etc.

please be well, and bring it (the hope of healing) home to your loved ones.

a positive attitude, filled with love and hope, and the energy of alternate medicine have added wonderful days and experiences to many in their search for health and well-being.

my best to you...and all that is yours

  13. Hi Pawtucket.

I'm new to the new GS.

I was around in the beginning but needed to 'take off' as some group of innie types (does anyone still call them that? my bad) were hassling me far too much at home during a time I was in recovery from a serious health crisis. I wasn't able to keep up here and focus on my life and health issues and keep everyone in my personal life calm about my circumstances.

All went well. I've checked in here or heard from someone once in awhile.

Moving along, Im healthier today then I was before that crisis happened.

I feel, after listening to your radio programs, and reading some posters here that I remember perhaps from their Day 1 - that this GS experience has been worthwhile.

Even the guff (that the more liberal or farther-removed from the way) people have swallowed in the process, perhaps from fear, I even see this was not in vain.

People who are finding themselves again do read things here that understandably take them out of their comfort zones.

I see we all make it through this life when we are determined to create the necessary changes and surrender that victimhood when it becomes burdensome to us or others. Whether we went through lousy marriages, fraudulent religious experiences, unhealthy childhoods, car accidents, any injustice perhaps, fill in the blank - you name it, you will survive what you want to survive.

I'm glad people choose not to wallow here.

It's makes all the difference in how the site is perceived.

(I think some of us have chartered the happenings here from time to time.

It would be great if you could compile some stats, as you mentioned in a radio rap.)

Kudos to you Pawtucket, for your endeavors.

Not only do the recent departures from the way sound great, but they are civil, open-minded, social individuals, making decent independent lives for themselves as they see fit. The way couldn't knock them out. Greasespots, my eye.

It's really nice to hear people on your shows. They were different then a post or a hundred could portray.

Every one is so 'good to the bone'.

They made me laugh, cry and visualize their goals too.

Anyway, I'm not worried about the petty stuff anymore. Life is too short to get ripped off for even an hour!

Hope you had a Happy Birthday, Thanksgiving, and are revved up for the winter.

    You are a prince!
