  1. Has anyone heard from Gary Lee, he lived in the Dallas Texas area or close to Dallas back in the 70's through the early 90's. I assume he is still living somewhere in the area. Any info would be appreciated.

    Thanks

  2. Hello all!!! I remember Oenophile, Jim Wood, CA Dreaming, and Exxie from the WOW year. I lived near you, CA Dreaming, and drove a 1961 Dodge Pioneer. Could fit four COMFORTABLY in the cavernous back seat.

I'm not sure how I missed the keg party at the end of the WOW year . . . I was probably there but just don't remember.

I decided to take some time "off" today and somehow ended up in GSC. What a fun place! Have enjoyed reading several pages of this thread, where you planned and pulled off the 2006 Texas BBQ. Got a kick out of your various definitions/descriptions of authentic Texas BBQ.

I live near St. Louis, am single-again (AKA divorced), have two AWESOME daughters. TEach high school English, am working on becoming a reading specialist. Am playing a fair amount of music, (gigging makes nice part time job and gives me an excuse to play every day) and have managed to write (maybe) a CD's worth of children's music . . .

Would love to hear from y'all.

Mary! Great to hear your still around, haven't logged on here for a good while, just putting it all behind. Although it is nice to hear from a wow bud.

    ex10

    templelady,

Thanks for info! I was wondering how ex10 and family were doing, we were lucky here in east Texas, only had our power off for 20 hours. Thousands more do not have power at this time, and this area was hit pretty lightly compared to the Houston area. ex10, we will be thinking about you. :)

  3. Today around 11 a.m. I went grocery shopping and the young teen who was bagging my groceries was really sad.

So I asked her about what was the matter, etc.

Last night around midnight she lost $100. It fell out of her pocket. So I asked her where this happened, etc., and she told me she thinks it was at or by this park. (When she realized, she couldn't go look because she had to get to work at the store.)

So I told her I would go look. I went to the park -- nothing. But then I decided to walk along a few different streets that led away from the park because I knew she had walked away from the park and also there was a breeze.

Guess what! I found her money -- five $20 bills folded up -- on the street. I brought it back to her at the store. She was so happy. That's a lot of money for that kid and she worked so hard for it.

Happy ending. Made my day! :)

    That's giving!!!!!!! :eusa_clap:

  4. Cool but I was hopeing for the week after actualy since the weekend I will be in my booth and have to set up Friday *sigh* I miss all the fun

You mean doing the Ren Faire won't be fun?!?!?!?

  5. In this case, I think the local news is better than any national news. My favorite sources are: WFTV and The Orlando Sentinel.

The national media just touches on the case, whereas besides hurricanes, it's almost all the local media seems to be covering and there's lots more to the story.

Jim, they have very little to go on and since the grandmother washed and got rid of some of the evidence, without a body, they are unlikely to be able to prosecute for murder. The circumstantial evidence is overwhelming and obvious, but not enough to get a conviction - especially if they get a bunch of bozos on the jury. That's the reason they offered the plea deal and it is an extremely rare deal that very seldom happens anywhere. They wanted to entice Casey to lead them to Caylee.... to give them any information that would help with the investigation.... I think she and her lawyer are just stupid enough to reject the plea anyway.

If she did dump Caylee's body in the swamp area where it appears she might have - there will be no body left thanks to gators and other Florida wildlife, insects, rain and whatnot.

    Belle,

People eventually talk, and most likely this will be Casey's downfall, look at her actions so far, stupidity will come back on her, at least I am hoping so.

  6. I probably would have ended up as a very wealthy, man on mystery, with multiple families around the world. I would have spent my teen years as a pro skateboarder, experimenting with drugs and sex as I traveled the world signing autographs and racking up frequent flier miles. In my twenties I would have still skated but the multiple broken bones over the years would inhibit me from doing so professionally. Instead, my money and connections would have allowed me to pursue my other interests... in a semi-successful indie rock band... started my own chain of restaurants, infusing different tastes from cultures of the globe... the occasional cameo in obscure films... finished my education at Yale... and at my low point, sponsored a late night infomercial for the latest greatest piece of exercise equipment.

Later in life my polygamy would be realized and I would be publicly humiliated. I would then loose my fortune in court and blacklisted among all my former colleagues except Hollywood. After turning away many movie offers I wold write a little known book of memoirs and died cold and alone in a mountain cabin somewhere in the Wind River Range.

But you know, that's just guessing off the top of my head.

Hey, don't give up your dreams just because a little time has been passed, there's always tomorrow! LOL!

  7. "Officials have offered Anthony a partial immunity deal if she admits 3-year-old Caylee Marie died as a result of an accident. If she takes the deal, any information Anthony provides to law-enforcement could not be used against her in prosecution."

WTF??? What if it was murder? I don't get why they are offering her immunity. They said the mother lives in her own world. Is she mentally ill?

I hate this deal making!!!!!!!!! Let her out, build a good case even if it takes few years.......maybe then she can get a DEATH SENTENCE she deserves. If she is mentally ill, so what? :CUSSING:

Of course only if they can prove it murder. :)

  8. Yeah Jim, I am. I've carved out a life for myself that includes quality relationships, a peaceful cabin in the woods, my dogs and a job that I enjoy and pays the bills...I am thankful for all that I have and all that I am...

...and in the meantime, I will continue to warn people about the dangers of getting involved with a cult called twi...

    GrouchoMarxJr,

Sounds darn nice, what else could you ask for?

Haven't run into a wafer in I don't know how many years, but you never know when and where, but I will warn them if it happens.

  9. Probably not using the word "available".

    LMAO Tzaia!

Remember one time before I took the class back somewhere abouts '75. Some follower I knew took me to this way home for a dinner, on the way there I stopped and got a six pack of beer. After dinner we were sitting around and this guy says to me, "Hey, are those beers available?". I say, "what do you mean?". :biglaugh: Even though I knew what the word "available" meant, I just never heard it in that context before!

Or the word "manifestation", nice word and one I use often.

  10. Since the big exodus from TWI................the tree has suffered. :biglaugh: sorry............. :wink2:

See attachment.............and remember the life of the tree in the saps! :jump:

  11. Hitch-hiking sucks.

1,300 miles of open road in front of me appeals to me. It needs to be DRIVEN.

I don't need a chauffeur *courtesy of the thumb*.

If I can afford the trip, I'll show up in a Subaru Legacy.

Not dropped off by some passing trucker.

Used to thumb around when I was teen, had enough of that myself. 1,300 miles, no freaking way!

You WILL definitely show up in a Subaru...........best cars made in my opinion. :)

  12. Well, I didn't say it, but.............

Ah, the patter of little feet around the house. There's nothing like having a midget for a butler.

Anyone who hates children and animals can't be all bad.

Children should neither be seen or heard from - ever again.

    I like children - fried.

    I never met a kid I liked.

    W. C. Fields

Children really don't bother me, just don't make me take care of them. :D

    Jim

  13. Like George said, if you are flying into Houston, we are about 45 minutes from Bush Intercontinental Airport.

I'm wondering why when searching for flight prices, the airport is just called Houston-Intercontinental? What's up with that?

  14. Just keep perusing eBay and another one will turn up shortly.

I mean, it's not like there's a huge demand for 'em, and there WERE plenty of 'em around at one time.

Just thinking of LCM in that costume, either makes me want to be sick to my stomach or laugh myself to tears!

  15. I remember the toga party. And the keg party at some rock quarry? with a fire and all us Wows partying heartily as unto the Lord?

Funny, I don't remember the toga party....... :asdf: The keg party was held at lake Ray Hubbard............I remember we didn't always do things the TWI way though. :biglaugh:

  16. Jim,

You ask a totally interesting question, which I can't answer. Approaching the question from the point of "Where wouldn't I be?" is amuch easier reply, for me anyway.

I wouldn't be talking to you, cherishing the memories we share, looking forward to seeing you and meeting your beloved, and catching up on family news, from days long ago and faraway, where what we did together, brought us to where we are now.

Ok, I admit, that's a convoluted answer to your question. But somehow, I don't mind being where I am today. In fact, I like the place in space I occupy.

I can scootch over, and make room for you again. We wouldn't have that, not would we? We'll see where it leads us. That's what I love about where I am.

Ok, if I'm made no sense whatsoever, just ignore the reply. We can do that here. :wink2:

Yes it makes sense to me,and I would never ignore one of your posts even if it didn't make sense! :wink2:

  17. now come on, jim. do i need a dictionary to see the point? no offense.

I think my answer to waysider was a bit rude, some people think morality and ethics are the same thing. Not sure I understand your comment above, this type of communication is a world apart from being face to face.

but anyway, i don't think we'll ever know the answer until the hereafter. at least i'm hoping then. do you think that thing about being known even as we're known or whatev will help me understand a lot of this life ?

I agree with the hereafter thought, but not even close to understanding what you said afterwards...........it's been so long, is it scriptural?

  18. Woulda, coulda, shoulda,

Who knows how it would have turned out?

I can't see where my 15 years of dedicated Wayferism did ME any good, though.

Now I'm thinking I'd rather have HAD the drugs and venereal diseases and whatever other evil side-effects one gets from living a life of debauchery. At least I'd have some better stories to tell and memories of stuff other than stringing chairs, singing tired old hymns, and generally playing the part of servile lackie.

Regret is a Mutha#$%ker. And looking back at my WayWorld involvement will never cease to bring me carloads of that. Just wasted years of icky, drippy, subserviant, superstition-laden, demeaning, obeisance to an MLM hierarchy. (shudder)...

    George,

I see nothing wrong with some debauchery, but only if it's done ethically! Old vic and others in TWI did it through lies, manipulation etc.

    Jim

  19. You did attend back in "79. :biglaugh: I will have to send a pic!

Oh really? Hmmmm, sure slipped my mind........Pictures? Please send some pics, :jump: mine are all gone, or either my ex has them.

Just sent her the link to Greasespot this morning, maybe she'll show up.

    Jim
