  1. As One of the Offcial First Weenie Roasters I apologize fer not makin it there this year, I was really planing on makin' it there. I went mule ridin' this year out in tha Ozark's the week before and got home Sat am wif two broken ribs an a sore *** an couldn't make it. I can see from tha photo's it was my loss! I am still nursin them ribs, so ya'll say a rib blessin' fer me!

I got kicked by a mule,,,,,theymake sore ribs,,,,,but not near as bad as a scar as TWI. Sure am sorry I missed ya's.

  2. Last years Little League World Series Team was from Valley Sports in Louisville, Ky. I played on the same team back in the late sixties , so it was thrill for me seeing them win tha world series of Little League. I think my next big thrill in baseball will be seeing Tony LaRussa lead the Cardinals to another World Series Championship!. I think he deserves to go out on a Winners Note!

  3. I have been buying dirt for a few years cause they ani'nt maki'n no more of it! And started investing in Cracker Barrell Restaurant Stock back in 89, so's ya'll stop in and eat one whenever ya get tha chance.

Hape good pholosphy ya got there,,,,,whether it be on-line orvia the stamp method,,,,always pay on time! Helps ya realize what ya got to work wif next month!

I have a pretty good chunk in a 401K, and no doubt some SS built up , but I like the realestate investment the best. It affords you tha opportunity to gamble and not loose unless you like going broke on fixer upper's!

I think sometimes we define retirement wif the wrong phraseolgy tho! If money was the terms I could retire tommorrow,,,I think our standard of living plays a major role in retirement often overlooked. I know several rich people retired that are bored stiff!

  4. Exie,,,,,,or should I call ya ExCathedra...ya wannna go snipe huntin in tha bluegrass then we can be friends according to some rules. But I promise not to cheat,,,,I'll give ya head start! OK!!!!!!....Yer friendly tour guide to tha bluegrass!

  5. Cindy,,,,,when I think of no child left behind I have remberances of the Home of the Innocents here in Louisville where I have a concrete horse implanted. It stands in the entrance driveway as a rememberance of what I could have been! And somethng to keep me in touch wif reality wif what I can can be for the next generation!

  6. I think one of the best things i have ever heard said about my involvement in the Way was something a woman said last year at the weenie roast after taking a group picture of all that was in attendance and asking how we met. And when someone informed her that we had met via the internet she replied....Well it all can't be bad and life really is short as we know it! I think sometimes we forget about those attentive ears out there! I for one have met some wonderful friends here and pray the rest of you have too! I sometimes think the keystroke is softer than we really want to believe because of our nature and training!

I have been reading these forums for the past two months sober and now look at them a little different. I think perhaps we are all a little too apt to critique one anothers motives and best wishes!

Godspeed to all....I will continue to enjoy your words of wisdom but perhaps be a little more apprehensive in pouring out tha pear juice!

In answer to tha original question,,,,,,I say NO!!

  7. Valerie,,, I'll always be ya friend! I don't mean to single ya out fer that remark either, but knowingyou from those neophyite days at the Beach I feel like I can say that and it will be believed. I have a saying that I still hang onto from the way and have found it helpful in my endeavours,,,,,A Friend is a person I ain't met yet!

I still look fer some good now and then,,,,,,,,thats why I coontinue browsing here,,,,,,what great folks we are to enjoy this type fellowshipping together, thanks be to Paw and all the posters that keep us typing.

Happy 4th of July to All!!!!!

  8. I got him running daily up this hillside behind tha house and learning how to do diamond style pushups and swing a double - bit axe chopping wood. That should give him all the phsical attributes he needs... now If'n I can just get him to watch me demonstrate the art of pitchin' ...he will have it down!

  9. this is conflicting with my yearly cross country mule ride thru the ozarks, but I am still gona see if'n I can't make it for sunday and monday!
