Thank you modcat 5 for changing the title. Laura was from Larchmont in Westchester county and I used to joke about her being a "Second Generation Groovy Christian". She got in just when the originals were going off to college.

I should have made it Laura Breunich Zeiser for the people who lnew her before we got married.

My wife Laura passed away on May 27 after a five year battle with early onset Alzheimer's. She died peacefully in her sleep. She died a month shy of our 45th anniversary and I miss her.

It was on that Video of the 40th Anniversary show done in Nashville and there are probably recordings of it by Takit. It's a Dean Ellenwood song.

Ted posted here. A lot of us got to have great conversations with him. He will be missed.

Have to add that if you haven't seen the silent movie "Nosferatu" you should really check it out. It's a classic !
-
What started this was someone telling my wife about "Heaven Is real." She then said she'd watch movies like that with me. She doesn't share my appreciation of Godzilla movies !

My wife and I are looking for good movies in the Christian / Biblical / Inspirational categories to watch. (nothing good on TV) It doesn't matter if it's recent or one from the Silent era as long as you think it's a good one. I'd love to hear your recommendations.

Biker Babe, glad to hear you're a survivor.

I'm glad that I had this place to put my initial post and work out some of the feelings and get feedback from people.

Wanted to come back and finish this up. I skipped the last two doctor visits because I was unemployed for a year and a half. I went yesterday and am now officially "5 years cancer free." I can now close this chapter of my life.

Wanted to stop by and wish everyone a "Merry Christmas"!
-
I had it as part of one of those "50 Public domain Movies" collections.

So two years later I watch "The Devil's Messenger" with Lon Chaney Jr. and it was actually pretty good.

A "Happy Birthday" to you. Hope you had a great day.

The movie came out in December of 2007.

Listening to "Jesus Christ Superstar" on a Good Friday afternoon. I loved this album before I got in the Way in the mid 70's but got rid of my copy because it was uncool to like it. Years after leaving I got a CD copy of it and am glad I'm free to enjoy it.

Just saw this. My heart goes out to you and your family.

I was amused by their choice of location and had wondered if anyone else here had seen the movie and picked up on that.

I just watched the movie "Alien Vs. Predator: Requiem" and at the end of the movie the army nukes Gunnison, Colorado to contain the aliens. Did this have any spiritual significance that I should know about? Did it show that God's hand of protection was off that town? What did HQ have to say about it?

I get together with another couple on Saturday nights to watch old sci-fi/ monster movies , mostly from the 50's. This is the last time we'll get together before Christmas so I'm trying to think of a good sci-fi or monster movie that takes place around Christmas time. The only ones I can think of are "Gremlins" or "Santa Claus Conquers The Martians." Can anyone suggest any other movies?

Just got this today.
"I received acommunication from Word Promotions, Ltd. today that
contained an update on our brother Chris Geer’s
condition. He is still hospitalized. He has been receiving intensive
physical therapy and is recuperating well. He underwent major
gastro-intestinal surgery and needs to heal furtherbefore another
surgery, anticipated to take place in January, 2012."
So that's the latest on Mr. G.
I've been watching different versions of "A Christmas Carol" lately so I can't help but hope that this makes Chris have his own "turnaround."

Still waiting to get an update.

Actually I posted that note because I thought you'd want to know what was happening. It was a "had you heard", otherwise I would have put it in the prayer request forum.
JESUS FREAK YEARS

A friend of mine who used to be in TWI was going to be seeing the movie "Jesus Revolution" and was curious about what was happening with The Way in those years . (She got in at the end of 1975.) She asked "I’m curious about how Dr got involved in the Jesus Movement and with the hippies that went to Ohio. Any info you can share on it and the revival that happened in Rye NY?"
I know the topic has come up over the years so I wonder if anyone could recommend threads that would have good information ?
