Who suffered more,
aCertainDiciple replied to aCertainDiciple's topic in Getting help for cult dysfunction
Dear mj412: I realize I run the risk of derailing my own thread here, but you made a remark in your post that was so profound that I just couldn't let it pass by. "I am lucky I truly had no where else to turn but my God and prayer." I just wonder how many people would consider having no one but God to turn to a LUCKY situation? What a blessing that remark is. You made my day. Thank you and God bless. acd -
those who walked away from TWI or those who were kicked out? Naturally, I don't presume to have the answer, but I would be inclined to believe that being kicked out would be much worse than walking away. At least when you walked away, you still had some of your dignity in tact. acd

Favorite Christmas music
aCertainDiciple replied to ex10's topic in Greasespot Holidays, Holydays and Heydays
I believe that "Panus Angelicus" is the most beautiful melody every written. It use to bring my grandmother to tears. Now it brings me to tears because it reminds me of my grandmother. I was told as a kid that it was the "official" song of the Catholic Church. I don't know if that's true or not. My favorite Christmas songs: Bing Crosby and the Andrew Sisters, Perry Como, Burl Ives, Nat King Cole and Dean Martin. acd -
dancing... the win win situation

Dancing is great and I love it. But, I have found that if you do what you love to do and you do it with a passion, girls dig you even more. acd -
Your favorite Thankgiving memories?
aCertainDiciple replied to Linda Z's topic in Greasespot Holidays, Holydays and Heydays
with my dad and Uncle Walley at 4:00a.m. on Thanksgiving morning. That was a popular tradition in the midwest during the 30's and 40's.I was about 7 or 8 years old at the time. My father taught me to handle and respect all firearms when I was a kid and I haven't shot anyone yet. Smile. acd -

Does Victoria really keep Secrets?

I have a question and I am not trying to be a smart-alec or trying to incite a gender war here. To all you ladies who have good looking husbands or boyfriends who worship the ground you walk on and consider you the center of their universe, would you be as upset about this VS thing as some seem to be? If you want to call me nasty names, go ahead. I'm old and thick-skinned. acd -
How will you spend Sept 11?
aCertainDiciple replied to OUT aka Martha's topic in Greasespot Holidays, Holydays and Heydays
I will do what I normally do on Wednesdays. I'm not trying to be sarcastic. I'm sure that many times throughout the day I will remember what happened a year ago and hopefully I'll remember to pray for the survivors. Beyond that, life goes on. acd -
the right to exist whether you or I like it or not. Secondly, somewhere along the way, God placed His spirit within me and my value soared out of sight. There is nothing or no one who can replace me. I am one of a kind, an individual and when I leave this earth, the world will be worse off for it. Sounds pretty arrogant, eh what? Well, God said it first, not me. Don't you just love people who have to bring God and Jesus into every discussion? Smile. acd

"Three's Company" and "Love Boat" Both of these programs should be played in prison cells 24 hours a day, but only for people convicted of capital crimes. ACD
