  1. washingtonweather here...

I for one do not think the choice to forgive or not to forgive should be so tied to right or wrong....righteous or ---shall I say it....the unrewinded mind...

It comes prety self righteous to say...the high road is only the road where forgiveness is "adverstised"

    I could not agree less.

  2. I think thaat just because --- people use the vocabulary "I think" or ""to me it means" doesn't mean that God did not work in them to show them something that inspired them directly, and consequently inspires you indirectly...possibly...if one might let that happen?..

Just a possibilitiy in my way of understanding God working in us to do and to wil etc...

  3. school-- my thoughts as I am Washingtonweather posting under Daddyhoundog:

Homeschooling is great if you can do it...not everyone can , wants to or feels competent.

My contract UN neighbor lives in South Africa a lot...when they do, they homeschool. However, she still uses the KUMON math to handle higher level math. (KUMON is a world wide system started in Japan)

My son goes to a computer based charter school. He is in 7th. He is now only 1 chapter away from finishing seventh grade English and is on track on everything else and only goes to school 13 hours a week.

My daughter needs the extra services that Public school provides. Speech and certain special ed cirriculums I am not trained in.

Problems arise if one has an autistic, or Downs child especially, there are not too many parents ready to take on these issues even in the children they love dearly, and know how to teach these disabilities effectively....but all that aside, and dealing with a "normal" child homeschooling seems to be a rewarding committment.

  4. no !

I would say, those are the consequences. It was not me, but him who lived like that.

Also given my Dad didn't change peoples lives in as direct a way or on a personnel level, he still had a very negative effect mine.

He made his bed, he is lying in it...as a matter of fact he is still alive, I have not seen him in over ten years and have no desire to see him...get it?

on the other hand, I am in constant communiation with my mother.

  5. Om- my father helped Milton Freidman win the Nobel Prize for economics. He wrote the 3rd chapter in Miltie's book that won the prize.

If I told any of those paternal cronies about my Dad...

    a. Don't you think they would think I had a vendetta

    b. I think they would look at me like I was crazy

    BUT MOSTLY C:

I don't have to - to know what I had to deal with growing up....No mater what they thought...and most thought very well of my father.

Your choosing to believe something based on the supposed validation of a relative is a poor excuse not to acknowledge the truth without the relative...its really a very nice sheild to hide behind for you....but as in the case of my dad...no matter what people thought--or whether they validated the perversions or not really doesn't amount to anything.

If you have no clue what I am speaking about...check my earlier post.

  6. you know a lot of these politicians promise crap and then the bill for it is prohibitive...then it gets blamed on the members of congress (cop-out) when in fact it should have never been promised in the first place....under the definition of a promise that it...

PS: the scuttlebutt in the Democrat Camp in NM is that Richardson will be running with Hillary next time round...course thats if K+E don't win...if they do, guess they gotta wait 8 years....either way.. its the local heresay

I voted for Perot years ago...and would do it again, don't think Nader's a good option either way...he's a better consumer advocate.

  7. You know...to deviate a little , but maybe I can add perspective.

I have a father who was famous in Computer Programming and Economics in the 70's. He was also very liberal and attended orgies, smoked a lot of pot, even sold some and had no qualms about leaving many (x) (xx) and (xxx) magazines around the house. We were wealthy and he traveled in all the "right" liberal affluent circles.

If someone were to attack my mother for staying with him for the 17 years that she did try to work things out, I would come unglued! If someone was to start asking me questions about iwhat I thought I think I would blow them a new A**hole! How dare people revel in that kind of pain...unless you have lived it and can offer real healing solutions, you have no business butting into others business while they privatly cope with their own sad situations.

Lianne Van Wormer Pierce! otherwise known as Washingtonweather

PS: Sogwop...this was NOT directed at you..you had an innocent question, just that some of the lesser sensitive people around here think everyone owes them an explanation

  8. I wanna see the piece of paper Kerry kept scribbling on after every 30 seconds....had to have changed papers once, but I think, personally, that he was doing nothing BUT scribbling like my youngest... I wanna see the paper!!!!

  9. wnw here;;

    I dont like Kerry.

I dont like his wife who was also a staunch reepublican while I lived in Pgh..who was also born in Mozambique...educated in Johannesburg...

I dont like alll that Bush has done, but as Mom always said,

Better the Devil you know than the devil you don't know.

  10. Thank you Shaz...I came home today and my 12 yr old had dusted, vacuumed nad sorta mopped....I praised him and priased him....Albeit it was 12 yr old quality but nonetheless it was awesome!

He fights when asked to do the dog poop though...but so did I when I was a kid.

    AND BY THE WAY

we have the first Big Wheel he ever got at 4 yr old, becasue he sold toys at a garage sale to buy it...and the busted up thing that is left is too close to his heart for us to get rid of.

Ooooo Another book to run my life and run others lives by---

I stood in Costco and read this thing thinking....oh hmm a cleaned up bible tells me so ...'

I dont think so, the church that I hang on the periphery of is doing this now....the amount of labor needs and helpin ght fellow christian out reminds me of a monumentus Way event...needless to say I have stayed away at this time.

This book is just too schmarmy for me....and so is all the stuff people are knee deep in at the church...
