Great news on David!!!!!

The doctors at MD Anderson say the radiation has dramatically shrunk the tumor and they have talked him into a new form of chemo using pills! This has gotten him out of his depression and things are looking up!

Well David is still under observation after the radiation treatments. M.D. Anderson wanted to start chemo but David opted not to yet. The tumor growth was slowed but his condition seems to be degrading and he doesn't have much energy so they will be going back to Houston the first part of June.

On the plus side, he got to go see his oldest son, Philip, graduate with honors from U.W. for a double B.S in Electrical and Computer Engineering! Philip already has a Job with Raytheon in Denver and hopefully David will be able to make his wedding this August.

I really began to copious cayenne on my meals and it did seem to keep me from catching colds etc.

As for the Ancient & Wise Ones being the only keepers of the pure white salt and devilish dark pepper...who else was spurutual nuff for that sacred task!!! :P--> :D-->

Just a short update. Things have been moving along fairly well. David is about half way through the radiation treatments and has started started attending a cancer support group.

He is tolerating these treatments rather well so far and at the end he will have an MRI to see how effective it has been.

Well they are both home now and David will begin 30 radiation treatments to shrink the tumor starting this Monday. If it shrinks enough they will head back to Houston for evaluation and then start a chemo program.

I imagine this will all be very taxing and not too pleasant but we are sure hoping and praying that it works! :)-->

Heck, I have done many things in the past that I am not especially proud of but I certainly don't let that cloud my vision on just how positions of power have been used since the begining of time to take advantage of others...geez, I even understand how the fact that even though some may have been willing participants it will never excuse the behavior.

It matters none, not one little eeny, teeny, tiny iota if the "lucky" participant was willing!! Hell it wouldn't even matter if they had stripped and thrown themselves on the man. IT WAS HIS RESPONSIBILITY, AND HIS ALONE, TO RESIST THAT TEMPATION LET ALONE ENCOURAGE IT!!!!!

Obviously something the Doc was unwilling to do because he had convinced himself that he was doing nothing wrong!!!!!!!!!

Well I am amazed at how quickly they release people from the hospital these days! I spoke with David on the phone Saturday and he sounded very good. His motor skill are intact and he just has some slight memory problems.

However, the really crazy thing is that they have already released him so David & Tannis were back staying at a friends house this Sunday....just 3 days & nights in the hospital and zoom your out!

I think we will find out this week what sort of therapy he will undergo in attempt to halt any more growth of the tumor.

I have a little more information. David now has post operative swelling in his brain (normal for this procedure...they removed a rather large portion of his skull to expose much of the brain on the left side). This has the side effects of causing confusion and multiple other hampers to thinking/memory. He is fine and doing well but we may have been a bit too optimistic than we should when he had less symptoms very early on...brain had not swollen as much yet. The doctors feel he is doing rather well and should recover from the swelling side effects.

Hi everyone. David just completed his surgery in Houston today. They removed some of the tumor and it has not grown since the last MRI! It took about 7+ hours and he woke up fairly well afterwards. He will need to have a speech pathologist because although he recognizes things he has to relearn how speak them.

Now after he has recovered enough from the surgery some sort of chemo or radiation therapy will be designed as per the biopsy of cells removed.

Hi everyone, we just had a big auction/dinner/dance this weekend and raised over 10 grand for David's surgery/treatment. We really have some great friends who are working their butts off (most ex-way)!

David & Tannis will be heading back to Houston this Friday and his surgery is scheduled for the 23rd. After that he will soon start some sort of chemo or radiation treatments that can be done back in Sheridan it looks like.

Senator Enzi has really been helping us out with the Medicaid and getting MD Anderson to work with Wyoming's Medicaid.
