The foolish man built his house upon the sand and the rains came down and the floods came up... Glad they were nice to you. They are a poorly researched, mean spirited cult who worshipped a man and paid the price. They turned a blind eye to assaults of all kinds, theft, adultery, abuse of children and they separated families. This went on for decades, heck half a century plus. But I am glad they were nice to you.3 points

Glad you had a good experience Joyful. For many of us here, it would take a lot more than people being friendly and joyful to overcome the darkness the organization embraced for many years. If you go to ROA 2025, let us know what you think.3 points

I wonder if they still throw darts at a map to make assignments. They're gonna need a pretty big map, I suppose.2 points

Don't mind me, I'm a cynical old fart. Part of this reminds me of my own early experiences, all those years ago. Everyone seemed so happy, joyful, "We sure do love you" and all that jazz. Different from mainstream churches. Love bombing at its best. Somehow, I don't see it ending well. Your mileage may vary.2 points

"If we're going to just disavow the word isn't there some nice satanist forum out there!?" I've encountered lots of groups over the years, and twi was only one of them that said "You can agree with us or you can disagree with GOD ALMIGHTY because we're 100% in accordance with him, and leaving us means leaving GOD ALMIGHTY." I wasn't sure if that's what you meant, but it certainly could be taken that way, and it sounded like that to me. Of course, you might have meant something completely completely different, in which case, a little clarification would be appreciated (by me if by no one else.)1 point

May I point out there is a bit of flawed logic in this? Disavowing "The Word" does not make one a Satanist. I mean, someone could conceivably disavow The Word and be simultaneously a Satanist, but not necessarily. You say potato, I say tomato.1 point

Welcome, Lulu. Whatever happened to you, we probably understand. Yah. LCM's screaming sessions at "Corps Nights." The foulness of his mouth. The hatred that was in his words. The wanton slander of those he didn't like, or who had offended him in some way. And he was "a man of God" ?????????????1 point

Hi Lulu welcome to the Spot. Am curious.... Were you and your husband threatened to be terminated from the Corps if you didn't sell the house?1 point

Abundant Sharing. What the rest of the world calls a tithe. Yeah, I know tithe technically means a tenth. But, hey, God won't even spit in your direction for anything less than 15%. If God loveth a cheerful giver, why's he spittin' at 'em?1 point

You could probably get by with one of those little nets for cleaning the guppy tank. The money you save could go to ABS. I'll be believing for you.1 point

Hi JoyfulSoul! Thx for posting your recent experience and I look forward to your ROA '25 visit if you go. I have no idea how and what TWI does at present but always like to give a listen. Regarding your comment on Zionism etc... I'm with you. You may already know that Pastor Chuck Baldwin of Montana is probably one of the finest teachers on this topic and he's on YouTube. Looking forward to your future participation here...1 point

Wierwille, Martindale, Bickle, and… Kat Kerr. That’s a hand never tired of the glove.1 point

I got very caught up with the Bickle sexual abuse scandal and the IHOPKC coverup and how similar it was to weirwille's and twi's. What did you know about the latter and what is twi saying about it now? There's no way I respect twi today for their lies and coverup for this man. Do they still call him "the man of God for our day and time" or just their "father in the word?"1 point

Thank you, Rocky I'm just going to check it out. Done a lot of churching these past 35 years and I don't have anything. People starving to death and these clowns want to 'pray for Israel'. I'm so disgusted.1 point

I don't know anything about narcissistic children, but I know something about the full blown disorder (NPD) in adults. Adults that develop this disorder usually suffered trauma/abuse as children. This abuse is usually by a parent who is an NPD/sociopath themself. Often the abuse is severe neglect or abandonment. It can even be overvaluing the child. (This may seem counterintuitive, but it's the academic term for "spoiled rotten.") The NPD seeks to destroy that which they did not experience. A form of revenge? Envy? I don't know why exactly, but narcissists are attracted to good people who are strong, honest, kind, generous, empathetic, loved and authentic. They didn't have any of that as children. NPDs are incapable of honestly expressing and living those qualities. Others who exemplify and embody those qualities are targeted. And they are then systematically destroyed. Self esteem isn't the primary reason. Empathy is a significant factor.1 point

My shiny new fiance is a very kind man, a devout Christian since his too-long-ago youth, strong supporter of his church and many worthy activities to help under-privileged and needy folk, generous with his time, money, and his heart, soul, mind and strength. He was the Safeguarding officer at his church - that is, the person responsible to whom abuses of any kind within the church community are reported; and then he independently ensures that allegations are investigated and appropriate action taken. So no surprises at abuse by "spiritual overseers" in church settings, and learning of church ministers and leaders who've done wrong in this respect. It would be some 11 years or so ago, when I felt safe talking to him about the abuses (many) that had happened to me, and he's been wonderfully patient and understanding over the time since then in helping me move to a very good place in my life now. And I have helped him in overcoming his grief and loneliness by my "just being there" when his wife of nearly 50 years together (not all married), died of a nasty disease, before we met. A good friendship has grown into = well, we get married on 6 September!1 point

socks! We have a sighting So funny about the parallel elderly groups. We do have an R&R splinter group going on - I do think it must stand for Rest Home and Rehab my take is the brain trust probably all saw the matinee show for The Jesus Revolution and had an epiphany. But the people would rather see the Jesus Revolution than PLAF-T Why? Because Christianity is for the masses not the brasses. And Jesus in peoples hearts is better than a fat lie about “The Teacher” chewed up in 4 different cow stomachs and regurgitated for the world once more. Peace.1 point
